Captain is always a good choice, if they are your main tool you’ll probably be feeding them stratagems. Chaplain Is a good choice for a non-ICC detachment, wounding infantry on twos and threes are nice. Librarians for sustained on a unit with only melee, isn’t my favorite but works. Belial is doodoo.

Have to agree with all of this. I used to like the Chaplain for the +1 to wound, but his secondary ability is often redundant with Watchers in the Dark. (Rarely do I need more than 1 turn of mortal wounds protection) The Captain brings basically everything you want to the unit- cheap starts, reroll charge, and hits well himself. He is, in my opinion, the MVP character for the squad.

The Captain In Terminator Armour can be good because you can use The Imperium’s Sword to re-roll charge rolls and with the changes Rites of Battle you can get -1 cp cost to stratagems with that unit. You can use Belial as a Captain model because it is the same base size and model size. Chaplain In Terminator Armour gives add on to wound roll from Litany of Hate, but has an anti synergy with Recitation of Faith which does the same as the watcher but can be done more then once and always works basically. Librarian In Terminator Armour gives sustained hits 1 can be good with all the attacks the Knights have.

On a question like this there are so many possible answers: it really comes down to what you want that unit to achieve. For example DWK led by a Chaplin seems less powerful in the Inner Circle. The +1 to wound is redundant because of the detachment rule and his fnp is better but normally only need 1 turn of it… so you would think that a Libby is better. Unless that squad was going to deepstrike into the opponents deployment for secondary points. They would then draw more fire and may need that FNP every turn… also they won’t really be contesting objectives so the +1 to w is a big boost. Same squad in the same detachment and the leader determines the roles. Librarian / captain take squads to center obj, Chaplin DS in the back.

Terminator Captain with Eye of the Unseen. -1 CP cost due Stratagems. 5+/4+ on vowed objective for CP regen. Re-roll charges to get your knights stuck in.

Only issue with eye is that most da armies are running azrael so the cp gain is useless so long as he is alive
