My favorite "couple" on the show after Josh & Donna. Like, it's ridiculous how invested I got after only three episodes of them. But yes, GREAT back and forth.
A guy friend in college signed up for ballet. We teased him until he said “guys, the class is me and 30 girls.” We shut up quick and realized he was a genius.
I love the moment when CJ calls Fitzwallace “sailor” and gets chastised by Leo :)
Between that, admiral sissymary and “you old so and so you old muckity muck”, Fitz gets all the best nicknames.
Favorite nickname is hard but it’s easy for me to say that CJ is the best at nicknaming. Standout scene is her big walk and talk in The Midterms where she nicknames every other main guy in quick succession (mi amor, Leopold, Holy Interuptus Batman, Toby as “yes ma’am).
Sorkin reuses all kinds of stuff! Somewhere there's a video someone made that splices clips from various Sorkin movies and shows showing how he recycles jokes, phrases, etc. Whenever I rewatch any of his stuff now, it's almost like little easter eggs.

I got a laugh from the moment where Josh sent Donna to the seminar of the motivational speaker that was consulting for Ritchie. He asks her to mark up parts of the guy's book, and when she agrees but he keeps talking...
"I said I'd do it, Buckminster."
A tie between CJ being the 'paranoid Berkeley shiksa feminista'; and Josh being the 'elitist, Harvard, fascist, missed-the-dean's-list-two-semesters-in-a-row Yankee jackass.
Guys what does Jo-Jo mean?😭 Or I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that’s what Josh used to call his sister Joanie or was one of his nicknames (like how Amy calls him J) but he decided to call Donna that also
Sorry got nothing. I figured at the time it was a pop-culture reference to something that had made news.
Josh is calling her out because of the knuckle-headed stunt of listing his gift of moose-meat on ebay (then finds out it's not her) - so figured it was a reference to someone known at the time for doing stupid/harebrained schemes.
Probably wrong and a long shot but two pop culture references to JoJo around that time.
[JoJo manga](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure)
Or JoJo the rather young singer but as I understand it her debut album would have realized a couple years after this aired…
“GERALD!”
This is the only answer
Correct!
Admiral Sissy Mary.
"Claudia Jean." "*Sailor* ..." "You're really gonna? In the Oval?" "No."
Loved that exchange. Nancy was an amazing character
couplesgoals is a guy who takes the jokey nickname and enhances it “Anything else, Agent Sunshine.” “It’s *Special* Agent Sunshine.”

My cousin is watching for the very first time and she freaked out when she saw "Agent Gibbs" and then 3 days called me crying when.... you know.
Mon petit fromage
You know you just called me a little cheese
I always giggle when CJ calls Josh "Giselle" after finding out he wanted to be a ballerina
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giselle for anyone wondering.
I had flashbacks to when my sisters wanted me to take ballet with them: They needed someone to do lifts.
A guy friend in college signed up for ballet. We teased him until he said “guys, the class is me and 30 girls.” We shut up quick and realized he was a genius.
I was 11. I did go back a few years later, to help with my balance while wearing glasses.

I watched this episode yesterday. It’s 100% about the ballerina thing.

It’s absolutely about the ballerina thing.
I came to mention this one!
I liked the word

Came here just to say this. You get an upvote!
I want to be a contestant on a Rob Lowe quiz show just to say that.
I love the moment when CJ calls Fitzwallace “sailor” and gets chastised by Leo :) Between that, admiral sissymary and “you old so and so you old muckity muck”, Fitz gets all the best nicknames.
Really...in the oval office ...
Also in the Oval Office: **Jed**: "Tractor starter fluid we're getting high on now." **Fitzwallace**: "*Ok*, you guys getting strippers?"
You old horsethief

She called him 'Tobus' at some point. Made me chuckle. Also CJs peeking from behind a newspaper "Boy, are **you** *stupid*!"
Boo boo
Sorkin reuses the “boo boo” joke in Charlie Wilson’s War

Thank you!
Chaz.
Marian the Librarian
Didn't they call their Iranian guy 'Chet'??
"...oh yeah, he's the new Chet."
I liked when Donna called Josh “Pumpkin Patch”
Flamingo and Princeton
Jethro. I laugh every time.
Lord Flibertygibbit
Helena Hodsworth Hooter-Tooter I'm not quite sure that's a nickname so much as it is CJ not remembering her real name, but I'm going with it.
And substituting “Braintree” for “Marblehead” which seals the deal even more for me
My fav
-Ainsley called me the master. -Get out.
Bartlett referring to his staff as The Clampetts every time they visit California
Barnum, Bailey, and their sister Sue.
Lemon Lyman
Only one nickname on the show has its own flair on this sub Admiral Sissy-Mary
Sam giving himself the nickname “The Housekeeper”, then instantly regretting it.

Hey Norma Rae!

If I had editing abilities, I’d make a supercut of the nicknames from the show.

Her disappointment after seeing the moose was priceless lol

It’s still not clear to me but thanks anyway, Josh’s mind works in mysterious ways as always haha
At first I thought you meant JoJo Siwa and not JoJo and I was like “I don’t even think she was BORN yet”
This feels like a great question for Josh and Hrishi.
Activate the At Phone!
I keep pressing my lapel pin. Maybe the batteries are dead.
Josh calls her a lot of names, like Gracie and Lulu and Norma Ray.
Pumpkin patch
chuckles.
