Russian Doll?
TV series, but there's a death by air con in ep 5.
Are you sure it wasn't this? There is a death where Dean looks up and is crushed, as well as another scene at a crazy circus/funhouse place just as you described
SyFy was the American broadcast television science fiction channel. They would produce their own movies for television. They were simply called SciFi for a long time then rebranded to SyFy and everyone agreed it was stupid.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Greg Kinnear gets hit with the a/c and then runs into Ricky Gervais (comedian). Close on the premise, but only a 1-time thing. Hmmm...
Same. I haven't seen the Supernatural episode and more than the funhouse there's something resonating with me. I can see that scene in my mind but I'd bet there are a few variations of it. Sounds like a Simpsons or Futurama quick gag.
Maybe it's being combined with something else but I think that is a scene from something...
John Quixote from Farscape comes to mind. I think it's a van that crushes someone in that though & gets kinda funhouse by the end.
Wow, this is a great resource. Also, OP, just Because you remember main character being a man or a certain gender, and maybe you are right, but even if they aren’t and they were one dying, he might be the one the female lead is trying to protect from getting killed, inadvertently. Thus she keeps having to restart timeline to keep him from dying, again.
There’s only one movie with Adam sandler where there is an “air conditioner” directly involved in a scene that I can think of and that’s happy Gilmore but obviously the rest wouldn’t make sense..
I didn’t claim it did. However there’s always a chance OP could have mixed thoughts from different things. Fargo has a lot of death, a bunch of different stories, but it’s the description of scene in Fargo- of a air conditioner crushing a man.
Ugh. I have seen 70 trapped in a time loop movies and many of them feature "can't escape fate" death loops. And while much of what you describe sounds familiar, I can't narrow it down much. Some trope/keyword searches:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GroundhogDayLoop
It is also possible it is one of several non-time-loop dying repeatedly movies though:

Edit: Did a quick refresher skim. Doesn't seem to be any of these that I can remember. Probably thinking of "The Good Place" as others mentioned earlier.
Go watch Primer! It’s a really novel take on the time-loop concept. It’s extremely low budget, sci-fi, and almost demands a second or third watch I order to unpack it.
I have seen that, I just don't consider it quite the same as "trapped in a time loop" since there are limited times it can be used in parallel. They mostly just repeat certain parts of the days (other than the main twist)
IMHO i don't think you can just list off 40 movies hoping that OP will go check them all and it might be one lol...I'll actually check the plot for every one that i suggest and nearly always take a quick look at the movie/trailer. Just saying btw!
Edit: at least a third you mentioned have a female protagonist. That's kinda what I'm getting at!
There’s an episode of The Good Place where Chidi is reliving his life in different instances and an air conditioner falls on him and kills him one time. [Is this it?](https://thegoodplace.fandom.com/wiki/Chapter_10:_Chidi%27s_Choice)
Came here to comment this. Probably a lot of people who are remembering this moment are thinking of this. Such a good show. Love that they ended it just right.
I freaking love that movie. When Kristen Wiig is trying to cover up/explain what happened, I damn near died. I’m sorry that more people haven’t seen this one.
12 Days of Christmas Eve? I watched this as a kid and also had a lot of trouble finding it again until recently.
https://letterboxd.com/film/12-days-of-christmas-eve/
I think I saw a clip from this movie. The protagonist was a guy who looked similar the actor that played Hawkeye in the Avengers. He was getting killed by assassins and when he’d finally figure out how to kill one then another would get him.
Here’s a list of time loop movies on Wikipedia: [Time-Loop Movies](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_featuring_time_loops)
I think the only one that sounds similar but hasn’t been mentioned is Christmas Do-Over (2006)
The Deaths Of Ian Stone
This probably isn't it, as the main character is a hockey player and not a comedian, but he does repeatedly die in crazy ways, so...
Yeah, it's been a long time since I saw it, but I remember it being pretty unique and fun! Unfortunately it's probably not what the OP is looking for, but I figured it was worth a shot.
Omg! OMG! I have been looking for this movie too, for years! You described the exact details that I also remember vividly, and yes the MC is definitely a man, and it's also for sure an older movie (90s-early 2000 like you said!) It's been driving me crazy as I'm usually REALLY good at finding whatever source I'm looking for, but this one is just gone 🙃 I hope someone figures it out on this thread 🌸
Stranger than Fiction (2006) - Starring Will Ferrell?
A very underrated movie too, not a typical Will Ferrell film at all.
Would recommend to watch, film was surprisingly deep.
I remember watching this movie maybe 9 or 10 years ago, I’ve looked up movies about time loops online and can’t find it anywhere.

Russian Doll? [https://www.vulture.com/2019/02/russian-doll-deaths-list.html](https://www.vulture.com/2019/02/russian-doll-deaths-list.html) TV series, but there's a death by air con in ep 5.
No, that came out too recently to be it, and I don’t recognize it. Also pretty confident the protagonist is a man
There is a guy in this show who is a time loop and air conditioner falls on him
Sounds like the Supernatural episode "Mystery Spot"
Yeah I agree.
Not supernatural, It was definitely a movie
Are you sure it wasn't this? There is a death where Dean looks up and is crushed, as well as another scene at a crazy circus/funhouse place just as you described
I was thinking the same thing! I read the post and automatically thought Changing Channels from Supernatural
Yep, came here to say this.
"These tocos taste funny to you?" 🎵Heeeat of the moment🎵
Those jump cuts to the next morning always kill me 😂😂😂
"Ohhhj, nice doggy!" 🎵Heeeeat of the moment🎵
“Sam give me the ax!” 🎵Heeeeat of the moment🎵
Rise and shine, Sammy!
*dean dies randomly in the shower*
I was going to suggest that maybe this is what OP was looking for. Mystery Spot was one of the best episodes!
I just watched that episode yesterday. Crazy.
I'm going to have to agree with this one too. Especially the funhouse/mirror/mystery spot being involved.
I thought it was this too
Also the first thing I thought of. 🤣
Boss Level had some ridiculous deaths in it. I don’t remember crushed by an AC, but maybe?
No, that’s too recent, and I don’t remember it being much of a thriller
I was also thinking Boss Level
Palm Springs? Run Lola Run?
Not Palm Springs, that’s too recent. Not run Lola run, I’m pretty confident the main character was a man, and it wasn’t a thriller movie
Guessing it’s not “Naked” then
It is most likely not naked, but I will give it a watch to check just in case
Groundhog Day?
No, not Groundhog Day

I haven't seen it, but 12:01 has a male lead in a time loop:https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0106188/
Not 12:01, I don’t think it was overly sci-fi
Good guess. You had a 37.1% chance.
It's not that. That is a pretty good movie though.
Oh man the air conditioner thing is ringing bells for me but I can’t put my finger on it
Was this SyFy channel movie by chance?
I’ve never heard of SyFy, but it might’ve been. sorry if that’s not very helpful
You've never heard of SyFy? Is this an American movie?
SyFy was the American broadcast television science fiction channel. They would produce their own movies for television. They were simply called SciFi for a long time then rebranded to SyFy and everyone agreed it was stupid.
Same!!!
It makes me think of The Good Place, but OP said it’s a movie.
Also my immediate first thought 😂
I'm so glad someone said it. Poor Chidi.
If only he’d made up his mind.
Thank you for helping me remember this. Couldn’t put a finger on it.
The AC reminds me of Ghost Town.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Greg Kinnear gets hit with the a/c and then runs into Ricky Gervais (comedian). Close on the premise, but only a 1-time thing. Hmmm...
I keep thinking of Happy Gilmore, but that’s definitely not it.
You know the meesta meesta lady? I think I just killed her.
It’s not what OP is looking for, but Fargo season 3 has a death by air conditioner.
Happens in Fargo too
Source code? Edge of tomorrow?
I don’t think it’s either of those, it wasn’t really a sci-fi or thriller, just a comedy I think
Was the quality a tv movie type?
Not a movie but Get a Life?
Not an answer, but [here is a list](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_featuring_time_loops) of evey movie that features a time loop
I mean, it's technically correct
The best kind of correct.
Wow, this is a great resource. Also, OP, just Because you remember main character being a man or a certain gender, and maybe you are right, but even if they aren’t and they were one dying, he might be the one the female lead is trying to protect from getting killed, inadvertently. Thus she keeps having to restart timeline to keep him from dying, again.
the butterfly effect?
Not the butterfly effect, i don’t believe it’s a sci-fi or thriller
Bedazzled?
Not bedazzled
Was it little Nicky?
I don’t think so, but Adam Sandler is a familiar actor, I feel like he was in the movie I’m looking for but I couldn’t find anything.
He definitely dies in a bunch of wacky ways and gets sent back to hell over and over.
Would it be the movie Click (2006) with Adam Sandler?
There’s only one movie with Adam sandler where there is an “air conditioner” directly involved in a scene that I can think of and that’s happy Gilmore but obviously the rest wouldn’t make sense..
FARGO?
No, it wasn’t a crime movie, and I don’t think it was a thriller
Since when does Fargo involve any kind of loop
I didn’t claim it did. However there’s always a chance OP could have mixed thoughts from different things. Fargo has a lot of death, a bunch of different stories, but it’s the description of scene in Fargo- of a air conditioner crushing a man.
Which was from season 3 of the FX show from a couple years ago, so not a movie from the late 90s/2000s
Dick Johnson is Dead? I believe it was a Netflix movie, or at least available on Netflix.
No, that’s too recent, and It was not a documentary
Sounds very similar to Happy Death Day but the protagonist is a woman in that movie.
The butterfly effect Another guess would be final destination
Not fitting your description but throwing it out there due to the nature of the death described…. Dead Like Me?
"You're Toilet Girl!" I loved Shelley Berman's episode.
Ugh. I have seen 70 trapped in a time loop movies and many of them feature "can't escape fate" death loops. And while much of what you describe sounds familiar, I can't narrow it down much.
No one simply “watches” primer.
It is in retrospect (in theory at least) a way of eliminating possibilities. I don't think it was any of those.
Oooooo maybe mega time squad. I don’t necessarily remember the AC thing but there’s so much stuff in that movie it could definitely be that.
Is it one of the Twilight zones from 2003
There’s an episode of The Good Place where Chidi is reliving his life in different instances and an air conditioner falls on him and kills him one time. [Is this it?](https://thegoodplace.fandom.com/wiki/Chapter_10:_Chidi%27s_Choice)
I reckon this is it. This is what I was trying to recall.
Came here to comment this. Probably a lot of people who are remembering this moment are thinking of this. Such a good show. Love that they ended it just right.
I've seen this movie but for the live of me can't remember the title.... It might have been a Jim Carrey movie?
Truman show?
Nah that's a whole different movieplot. But good movie :)
Ghost Town (2008)?
I think Good Place is what they’re thinking of but this was my thought also!
I freaking love that movie. When Kristen Wiig is trying to cover up/explain what happened, I damn near died. I’m sorry that more people haven’t seen this one.
Monkeybone 2001?
12 Days of Christmas Eve? I watched this as a kid and also had a lot of trouble finding it again until recently. https://letterboxd.com/film/12-days-of-christmas-eve/
This is what i was thinking of but op never answered if it was a tv movie. With Steven Weber from Wings and Molly Shannon.
i miss disney 90 type movies, they dont make them like that.
A Fish Called Wanda? Character nearly dies/is injured over and over in very funny ways.
It’s a character’s dog. It finally gets killed by an air conditioner.
I know in deadpool 2 he keeps trying to die different ways. (Not a time loop movie) but was somewhat a comedy, and contained time travel.
Guy with Ryan Reynolds or 1000 ways to die in the west
Little nicki?
The Last Day of Summer (2007)?
Free Guy (2021) the Ryan Reynolds video game movie??
I think I saw a clip from this movie. The protagonist was a guy who looked similar the actor that played Hawkeye in the Avengers. He was getting killed by assassins and when he’d finally figure out how to kill one then another would get him.
Yours sounds like Boss Level. The OP sounds like an episode of Supernatural. All the bits fit except OP insists it was a movie.
Here’s a list of time loop movies on Wikipedia: [Time-Loop Movies](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_featuring_time_loops) I think the only one that sounds similar but hasn’t been mentioned is Christmas Do-Over (2006)
. I wanna know what this movie might be if anyone finds it
Premature? Bizarre one , from 2014 but looks like it’s a little older
Was it Dick Johnson is dead? There is a scene where a window ac unit falls on him.!
was it doctor strange?? he sticks dormamu in a time loop and I'm sure he might've gotten killed with an ac at one point lol

Down to earth?
The Deaths Of Ian Stone This probably isn't it, as the main character is a hockey player and not a comedian, but he does repeatedly die in crazy ways, so...
God, I totally forgot about this movie! So good!
Yeah, it's been a long time since I saw it, but I remember it being pretty unique and fun! Unfortunately it's probably not what the OP is looking for, but I figured it was worth a shot.
Probably not, but thanks for rekindling the memory!
Thanks yourself! :D
Time Crimes? I don't think he dies in the movie but he keeps injuring himself in stupid ways.
It's the ABC's of Death.
Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel? or 41?
was it in english? did it air on tv? if so, you could check tv histories on the web for that channel. maybe its 'Stay Tuned' no time loop though
There was a weird psychological thrillers about 10+ year ago with weird repeated deaths. I think it was called Triangle?
Drop Dead Fred?

Why does this feel like it rings a bell… Does he keep waking up at the same time each new return from the dead?
Movie name -BRAZIL Actor - Jonathan price ? https://youtu.be/rtX79lg2354
Is it called Looper?
Bruce Almighty with Jim Carrey?
maybe it is A Night at the Roxbury 1998
The Wave? with justin long
Omg!
Maybe Blood Punch? [Blood Punch](https://youtu.be/mfjnmlzYI4E)
High Fidelity w/ John Cusack? Not a time loop but a fantasy scene involving an air conditioner and Tim Robbins.
Not really the same, but Memento?
Stranger than Fiction (2006) - Starring Will Ferrell? A very underrated movie too, not a typical Will Ferrell film at all. Would recommend to watch, film was surprisingly deep.
