Tight-Payment5691

Reply here if you think you know a movie that fits the description

EierkuchenHD

Are you looking for the Thriller movie "Emelie"?

Tight-Payment5691

No. That's not the one. The movie I am looking for has only one kid.

JunieCo06

Is it Safe Haven? Based in the book by Nicholas Sparks.

Tight-Payment5691

Nope

EvenEvie

This is nothing like what the OP described, lol.

Zoeloumoo

It’s almost the opposite.

Liversteeg

In what world?

PengwynKing

Jane Eyre?

Comfortable-Basis-64

EmmaDrake

Same.

Lol thought of the same one!

Tight-Payment5691

Nope

LastWishYennefer

Plotwise this sound kind of like a movie based on the novel "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Brontë (1847); the "widower" who holds his wife captive (because she is what was called "violently insane") is the romantic interest of the female main character, a governess he employes to take care of and enducate his daughter. [Here is a Wikipedia List of adaptations of Jane Eyre](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adaptations_of_Jane_Eyre) - maybe yours was this one: [Jane Eyre miniseries (2006)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Eyre_(2006_TV_series)) ?

Tight-Payment5691

No it was a thriller

Shugazi

[The 2011 version](https://youtu.be/8IFsdfk3mlk?si=vtqNT6jEusGtvd-U) is quite suspenseful, and has a couple straight up shocking/scary moments. ETA: I fixed the link, TIL if you copy a link to a youtube video while an ad is still playing it is possible to link directly to the ad 🥲

Onnimanni_Maki

Wtf did you link?

sephjy

Hi, I don't mind signing the petition, but where is the 2011 version?

annapnine

Parts of the 2006 version as well.

Breelander89

The mother isn’t alive in this one, but sounds somewhat similar to Voice from the Stone?

herpderpingest

Sounds similar to I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives in The House, though that was an adult caretaker rather than a babysitter.

Tight-Payment5691

Nope not this one

downvotethetrash

Do you remember the age group of the child or like how often the wife ghost was seen before the truth comes out?

Tight-Payment5691

The truth comes out in the end. The husband somehow catches her again but I dont remember what he does with her then

downvotethetrash

This sounds so familiar but when I try to remember what it is I just keep thinking about Bly Manor or picturing the ghost maid from AHS murder house

sarahLCSW

summertimesunbae

47Fox

loveisabird

The Uninvited?

Tight-Payment5691

Nope

thisismynewaccountig

There’s something similar in Insidious: The Last Key. It’s 2018 tho and not a sitter. Elise is reflecting on her awful childhood where she saw a ghost woman in the house and tried to tell her dad but he beat her like always because he doesn’t believe in ghosts. He’s a widow at this time. She looks back and realizes that woman was alive and a demon makes any man who lives in the house kidnap women and trap them in the basement

Tight-Payment5691

Nope not this one
