Seems kind of drastic but I guess it is worth a shot.

ktsg700

I mean don't they decrease when you kill one person, just by much less?

saschaleib

One person is hardly worth the effort, but kill a couple of millions, and *bingo* instant CO2 reduction!

IkuraDon5972

so the burning and pillaging did not dent the numbers?

ThatThereMan

I’m amazed they were measuring carbon dioxide levels so accurately in the 13th century

Tim_Reichardt

Some cultures were more advanced than others.

For every day, an army slayed, a harem laid, and tree planted. So many nuts, his line & humanity blended, forever tied... lamentations of their women, just an afternoon ride.

Alternative_Effort

This is so good! I can't believe it's just a reddit comment. I was like "this must from something"

1OptimisticPrime

Tanks AltE!

Givemeurhats

Got ten bathrooms, I could shit all day

123Catskill

Yeah no

Alternative_Effort

It's true, but it's primarily from reforestation not the literal deaths of humans

123Catskill

Nah. Mongols took over the territory of people they killed. Not that those they conquered were massive deforesters anyway. While this was going on populations were rising (and deforesting) in other parts of the world. The Amazon and Europe for instance.
