Salaar opened heavily in Telugu and did decent in Hindi. Tamil and Malayalam under performed. Plus it recieved mixed talk. People expected it to go till 800 but it stopped at 700. Nobody sane claimed 1000. If they did it must be wishful thinking.
You really don't understand stuff. Production houses make more than box office. There's OTT rights! Which they sold to different streaming services for different languages.
agreed a producer get only a maximum of 50% from the collection so in terms of salaar it's 310 cr, what's the budget ? then added with OTT rights etc another 100cr that's all the highest OTT rights for a south indian movie is below 100cr
So just watched Aamir Ansari who's credible with BO numbers said that the movie collected 177crs gross for sure and he doesn't have the data of Nepal,Africa and few European territories and since there will be 3D charges (which only producers are aware) which the producers/distributors get which are also included in BO along with gst and some offline data the movie would've made anywhere between 183-188crs
I dont understand a common man's obsession with the numbers a movie makes. Like why are you excited how much money they are making. I am a movie obsessed person, but I am obsessed with the craft itself, not how much collections and how many records it breaks. So I dont understand why that is a big deal for a common man. Its like a Jio customer getting excited about Ambani's richness.
Movie making is a business, not a charity.
When a movie is successful, similar movies are made. So, if someone likes a movie, they want it to be successful because they want more movies like it. Especially for big budget movies like this.
As a movie lover, this concept should not be so hard to grasp for you.
Who will fund arts and crafts if it is not a successful endeavor.
I guess you didnt read my comment properly. I am talking about obsession. If its just goodwill towards the industry like you are talking about, then it should be done towards the end of the movie run. But the obsession with numbers starts even before the movie is released.

Exactly. I hated every minute because of 3D. Okapakka 1st scene nunchi oka rakamina feel lo pothondi movie. Aa bokkalo 3D effect chiraaku theppinchindi.
Except a few scenes it is good. However the Kashi sets do look artificial sometime, rest all is well done. Sometimes you can makeout the green screen if you know where to look...
Yea... Well I think they did not do a good job at hiding it, it is better than complete CGI background tho. Second part needs to be more polished, I think Shambala background shots were full cgi.

Ceeded lo underperformed and Andhra parledu, Overseas excellent, north india lo good, Tamilnadu and kerala good as per expected

Here all guys are sure about Salaar doing 1000 crore after the first day. Let's see how it performs on Monday to make any conclusion
