Yeah, I wanted to show my wife the 1500m and didn't feel like scrolling through the Peacock coverage to find it. Of course, it's obvious who won when Cole Hocker has his arms up in triumph. Well, there goes the suspense. If you ever read through the YouTube comments, it pisses a lot of people off.
I’ve made this case for years there used to be a running site that posted links to the races so you could click on it blindly. Also it’s YT just upload the whole fucking race too. I actually like watching the entire 3-5-10k races.
I get Peacock in the summer just for track meets, then I unsub. To me, it's worth it. It would be better for the popularity of the sport to not have it be behind a paywall, but it's also not particularly expensive.
Yeah. That’s my main thing. I know a lot of people would casually watch and get more into it if it was more accessible. But, most people can’t justify a subscription for something they’re not interested in yet.
There's no such thing as spoilers in live sports. You wouldn't be mad at season "Cowboys beat the Giants" or Celtics beat the Mavericks." It sucks to not have the suspense when watching later, but that is just the price of missing any live sporting event.
Well I do pay for YouTube TV and have watched most of the trials live but guess what life can get in the way and some of the days I can’t watch till a couple days later!
Since i pay for it does that mean I can care enough to be bothered by the spoiler titles??
Agreed. Happens all the time on YouTube. Sometimes I have someone in the house who doesn’t care about the race pull it up for me.

IT PISSES ME OFF!!!
If you have peacock, you can look up the day the race happened, then fast forward to the race you want to see.
The fact they stream a large chunk of events through peacock gives me another reason to dislike nbc

You can't watch peacock outside of the US even if you are willing to pay. Sucks for global fans who want to watch meets.
In the UK, you can watch Olympics, world champs, world indoors and diamond league on free tv
I’m moving overseas soon and a VPN is absolutely essential.
Yeah unfortunately even with a VPN it will block your payment if it's not an American credit card.
I’ve got a US card so that’s no an issue

Pro tip: gotta pull it up with your hand covering the video title name
Lol, well I have done that for NBA/NFL highlights. It doesn’t help when they have the winner with their arms up in triumph as the main picture though.
Yeah you have to squint looking at the pictures too!
They've been doing that since at least the year of the Tokyo Olympics.
Yup, I hate it, but that's the only way to get people to click on these things (why they want to be spoiled I have no idea)
See i disagree- you could make the title simply US trials 1500m record SMASHED. There is no need to put the name of the race winner in the title
Or like "Thrilling finish in the 1500!" I would be more inclined to click on these videos than the ones that spoil the ending.
Yeah, It's awful. NBC knows that it pisses people off.
people get pissed off and then comment and dislike and that counts as engagement and drives viewership 😉
NBC has been doing it for years. Just the way that the NCAA spoils the outcome of every race in their thumbnails as well. They know what gets clicks.
They probably also want to push you to watch it live
I think this is the real reason. Don’t like watching on YouTube? Watch it live. We own it. We can name it whatever we want.
Sign up for Instacart+ trial (no cc requirement) and it comes with Peacock.

If you cared enough you would watch it live and pay for the stream. So I don't think your can care enough to get bothered by the spoiler title.

Cole Hocker tried to make a move on Sage Hurta-Klecker, and he succeeded. She blew on his snake just moments before the gun fired.
