They're good! I had no idea they sold these until I read this. They squeeze a lot of them in that can, packed in oil. I simply drained out the excess oil when opening the can, then transferred the dolmas to a non-metal refrigerator container with lid. Their taste is really good - I love adding one or two to my salads. They're now on my "Trader Joes Shopping List".
They sell it at the Armenian Grocery such as Jons or Super King (if you live in the West Cost). They make it at the Jons so you don't have to get it from a can fyi.
I love having these with some fat chunks of feta served with some olive oil, oregano, and pepper sprinkled on top as a light dinner or snack when I don’t feel like cooking. Sometimes I’ll also have the cumin chickpeas with them as well. So good
Bought 3 cans yesterday. I'm making a Greek orzo salad next week for dinner one night and we have these with it and the whole wheat lavash. I make my own sometimes (I'm not Greek but I found a great recipe). These taste almost exactly like the ones I made.
Yep they are freaking amazing. I smash them with pita and the Greek chickpeas and of course tzatziki. It’s so good. You do really need a lemon squeeze it really elevates it right?
Picked up a can tonight after rrading this post. I'll try them tomorrow.
I tried the Mediterranean beef kebabs, and they tasted just like mildly seasoned ground beef. Not bad in a pinch, but I'll likely not buy them again
Man, yes. And I have been for many years. Which means I've been living with the quiet little voice that whispers "one day they'll be goooone!" for just as long. Every lil can is a blessing.
I know I can make them, or buy them in all different places. But I dunno. I like TJs' acidity and... mush factor.
I both love and hate living so far from family ... dolma making Sundays were the bane of my childhood but there's nothing better than the bottom ones that are a little crisp
Excellent when used as a salad dressing, poured over rice or quinoa, poured onto hummus or yogurt, in a sandwich, oil to fry and egg with, or anywhere you want to dial up the flavor. The oil-water is so good.
Depends on my mood. We have lots of opened hot sauces in the fridge lol 😆 Sometimes Franks, Sriracha, Tabasco Scorpion, TJs Sriracha (red or green) Butterfly brand Sriracha (which is the best Sriracha IMO) honestly the Franks may be my favorite it may not be spicy but the vinegar flavor pairs nicely
I put an entire pile of these out for guests a few weeks ago and my seven year old inhaled ALL of them. Wasn't sure if I should be upset she didn't leave some to share or impressed at what an amazing foodie of a kid I raised.
The quinoa ones were great even to a skeptical person who grew up making them 1x a month. they were tighter, which is what I consider the gold standard.
Inflammatory. Ok. Did not know that. Completely understand the desire for olive oil instead, and certainly if I was making them myself, that's what I'd use, but perhaps soybean oil has a higher burn point than olive oil, which has a really low burn point, and that might be advantageous in the canning process. Part of what I love about the product is the shelf life.
Thank you bc I was wondering what kind of oil it was in. I got into the tinned fish craze and bought some from Trader Joe’s. They distinctly told you what kind of oil the fish was in on the front which I found very helpful. I’m surprised it wasn’t blatant on the front of this can too. I’m also surprised it’s not olive oil. Missed opportunity for health and cuisine.
Saving this post for later, I usually just eat these out the can like a crazy person but y’all have inspired me with more socially acceptable ways to eat these!
Aldi had some for a few months last year, made in Greece, and those were perfect.
I've tried a lot of brands since that supply dried up, and these from TJ's are the only ones that come close. I always snag a couple cans when I go there.
I disagree. I like them better because the quinoa is firmer than the rice.
I just wish they used a good olive oil. Same with the Greek eggplant. A couple of cans of that and the leftover oil from this would be a great start to pasta dish.
What I like to do with these is make a wrap
1. Garlic naan
2. Diced red onion
3. Tzatziki sauce
4. Dolmas
5. Steak cut fries (I make these with EBTBS seasoning and russet potatoes)
6. Lettuce or arugula
The dolmas are in a short, wide, white can next to the Grecian style eggplant with tomatoes & onion in a short, wide, purple can; the Greek chickpeas with cumin & parsley in a short, wide, green can; and the giant baked beans in tomato sauce in a short, wide, red can.
Near the canned beans: https://www.traderjoes.com/home/products/pdp/dolmas-050752
And all four are delicious.
I think they’re with the other beans and canned goods, usually grouped with pantry stuff. My store usually has those cans on the bottom so they can be easy to miss!
I am obsessed with these too and the other canned foods they sell. I call them Human Adult Cat Food and cannot have them for more than 48 hours before opening them all YUMMM.
These are surprisingly easy for canned.
They save me time and the back breaking work of rolling them!
I always have several cans in my pantry.
Great for company appetizer platters.
My Greek husband and I have
“ Meze Night” every Friday for dinner and These are the main component.
love them! i chop up some romaine, open a can of these and pair them with (also TJ’s) the chickpeas with cumin or the fava beans in tomato sauce - both on the same shelf in the same kind of can. eat them with some toasted tandoori naan. delish!
I actually make a big batch of couscous and then have these, the Greek chickpeas, the Greek eggplant and the giant beans with feta and a tahini dressing on top as like a Mediterranean bowl and portion them out for lunches. Soooo good and I can usually make like 4-6 from the set of 4 cans. I sometimes also put an air fried Morningstar chik’n patty in there too for more protein.
I like them with the canned Grecian style eggplant with tomatoes and onion (sold on the same shelf as the dolmas). So good I eat both straight out of the can.
I had grape leaves stuffed with feta cheese at Napa Rose in the Grand Californian Hotel at the Disneyland Resort and I’ve never been able to eat them with rice since.

The only thing that would make them perfect is using Olive Oil instead of Soybean.

This post made me try them and I am OBSESSED.
They sell it at the Armenian Grocery such as Jons or Super King (if you live in the West Cost). They make it at the Jons so you don't have to get it from a can fyi.
I find them too sour…
And kinda mushy? I usually love dolmas but don’t care for the tjs
Mmm I didn’t know they had those
Omg yes. I can scarf an entire can no problem
I love them just wish they were packed in a better oil.
I got some really tasty ones at Lidl recently, I was surprised they didn’t have meat in them like I used to have when I was a kid!
These are on sale at LIDL this week.
I love having these with some fat chunks of feta served with some olive oil, oregano, and pepper sprinkled on top as a light dinner or snack when I don’t feel like cooking. Sometimes I’ll also have the cumin chickpeas with them as well. So good

I am a big fan
My 13 month old ate like two whole ones the other day. She couldn’t get enough of them lol
Loooovvvveeee these!!
Yep they are freaking amazing. I smash them with pita and the Greek chickpeas and of course tzatziki. It’s so good. You do really need a lemon squeeze it really elevates it right?

what section r these in :o
Over by the tuna usually?
What do these taste like???
Heaven
Been buying these for years! Adding fresh lemon juice to them makes them even better!
Thanks for the suggestion!
My favorite!
They’re soooo delicious— thanks for reminding me to grab some next trip 😂
OB. SESSED.
NOPE NEVER HEARD OF THESE MOVE ALONG
These are ELITE
Whoa I’ve never seen these!! I’ll be trying
Yes, but only these ones. I’ve tried the quinoa ones and I don’t like them.
Totally agree. Was so excited to try the quinoa ones and they’re not nearly as good.
I definitely am and get at least 2 cans every trip!
Man, yes. And I have been for many years. Which means I've been living with the quiet little voice that whispers "one day they'll be goooone!" for just as long. Every lil can is a blessing. I know I can make them, or buy them in all different places. But I dunno. I like TJs' acidity and... mush factor.
I’m obsessed with the stewed eggplant. It’s just so good.
Yes! And if you like those try the other similar canned items! The Greek chickpeas in parsley sauce is so good too.
I downvoted because I don’t want anyone to see your post. 😈
i love these so much
Yes I have those on hand regularly, so versatile and good flavor.
Agreed. Perfect for on top of a salad or right out of the can
YES
My mother makes them from scratch
I both love and hate living so far from family ... dolma making Sundays were the bane of my childhood but there's nothing better than the bottom ones that are a little crisp
My mil does too. Yummmmm
Yup
Yes — love keeping these in the pantry for use in a salad!
as a middle eastern, they’re not bad at all.
I liked the jarred ones so much more.
My son is. The local Mediterranean restaurant (Pita Jungle) has them and TJs are better. I always keep a few cans on hand for a good app mix.
Nah, I’d rather support a local business that sells dolmas
They’re not bad
Nope
Been obsessed for years! Def in my top 3 products.
Is the liquid water or oil?
oil
Excellent when used as a salad dressing, poured over rice or quinoa, poured onto hummus or yogurt, in a sandwich, oil to fry and egg with, or anywhere you want to dial up the flavor. The oil-water is so good.
Yes. My family thinks I’m crazy.
Sprinkle some lemon on them. Warm them up just a tad. Thank me later!
try squeezing lemon on them and dip them in plain yogurt. this is how I grew up eating them 🥹 ‘ middle eastern here 🇮🇶
Hell yeah! Thank you!
Yes omg my fav way to enjoy these
I will thank you now 😍
Report back!!
My favorite with hot sauce 😋
Which hot sauce?
Depends on my mood. We have lots of opened hot sauces in the fridge lol 😆 Sometimes Franks, Sriracha, Tabasco Scorpion, TJs Sriracha (red or green) Butterfly brand Sriracha (which is the best Sriracha IMO) honestly the Franks may be my favorite it may not be spicy but the vinegar flavor pairs nicely
I cannot account for you choosing hot sauce, sorry
My kid is.
I put an entire pile of these out for guests a few weeks ago and my seven year old inhaled ALL of them. Wasn't sure if I should be upset she didn't leave some to share or impressed at what an amazing foodie of a kid I raised.
Definitely impressed.
Yea!! I prefer the quinoa one instead though. With a little bit of hot sauce
The quinoa ones were great even to a skeptical person who grew up making them 1x a month. they were tighter, which is what I consider the gold standard.
I agree 100%. A tight dolmas is the right dolmas.
I think it’s been discontinued,sadly. Haven’t seen them in weeks. Months even…
Nooooooooo
Yes! I wish they’d bring them back!
Back???
we like the quinoa one better too!
Love them with some chili onion crunch.
U read my mind i literally went to go buy some today
Better than getting them at Greek festivals IMO.
Seriously! They nailed these!
These with chickpeas and feta…the perfect quick lunch.
They could have really done without the soybean oil 😒
That’s the one reason I don’t buy them. I cannot eat anything with soybean oil in it. They sound great otherwise!
What objection do you have to soybean oil? I should probably know this already. Health related, environment related, production related??
It’s cheap and inflammatory. Also, considering dolmas are a common Mediterranean dish…maybe use olive oil instead?
Inflammatory. Ok. Did not know that. Completely understand the desire for olive oil instead, and certainly if I was making them myself, that's what I'd use, but perhaps soybean oil has a higher burn point than olive oil, which has a really low burn point, and that might be advantageous in the canning process. Part of what I love about the product is the shelf life.
I believe it’s highly inflammatory like a lot of seed oils.
soy is estrogenic
Thank you bc I was wondering what kind of oil it was in. I got into the tinned fish craze and bought some from Trader Joe’s. They distinctly told you what kind of oil the fish was in on the front which I found very helpful. I’m surprised it wasn’t blatant on the front of this can too. I’m also surprised it’s not olive oil. Saving this post for later, I usually just eat these out the can like a crazy person but y’all have inspired me with more socially acceptable ways to eat these!
They have an incredible tzatziki that complements them sooooo well
If you eat dairy you can try this classic sauce for dolmas: sour cream/plain Greek yogurt, salt, pepper, fresh garlic and lemon juice. So good!
Or try this with the vegan plain cashew yogurt. It’s really good.
Aldi had some for a few months last year, made in Greece, and those were perfect. I've tried a lot of brands since that supply dried up, and these from TJ's are the only ones that come close. I always snag a couple cans when I go there.
Not obsessed, but they are a decent product compared to most.
Freaking love them
Makes me miss their mid east feast
Please don’t remind me 😩
I wanna try these!!!
They’re my all time favorite TJs item! I only like them room temp though but I often add them to mezzah platters when serving a group!
ME. Love these.
Uh oh. I’ve been wondering about these. New obsession alert.
They look like they’re sponges for oil….
They’re not! The grape leaves keep the rice safe :)
So so good, almost as good as the ones I ate while in the Middle East
What country?
I love 'em. I get a can every time I go!
Yes but not the quinoa ones because yich! Totally dry and mealy taste and feel…
I disagree. I like them better because the quinoa is firmer than the rice. I just wish they used a good olive oil. Same with the Greek eggplant. A couple of cans of that and the leftover oil from this would be a great start to pasta dish.
To each their own — enjoy in good health, friend!
I literally just said this to my husband! They are absolutely amazing and I always buy multiple cans
Anyone got a nice Greek lemon sauce recipe for these bad boys?
Would be good with tzatziki too
Look at you with your fork! So civilized 😂 I’ve been devouring them for years, so tasty! Cheers
they aren’t new, i’ve been getting em for years hahaha love em so much
Ooo I’m going to try these!
What I like to do with these is make a wrap 1. Garlic naan 2. Diced red onion 3. Tzatziki sauce 4. Dolmas 5. Steak cut fries (I make these with EBTBS seasoning and russet potatoes) 6. Lettuce or arugula
Homemade tzatziki is sooo delicious 🤤🤤
Omg whyyyy have I never thought of this?!
They are delicious!!
What aisle are these in? Please, someone help me
The dolmas are in a short, wide, white can next to the Grecian style eggplant with tomatoes & onion in a short, wide, purple can; the Greek chickpeas with cumin & parsley in a short, wide, green can; and the giant baked beans in tomato sauce in a short, wide, red can. Near the canned beans: https://www.traderjoes.com/home/products/pdp/dolmas-050752 And all four are delicious.
Bless up, you’ve done this country a great service
I think they’re with the other beans and canned goods, usually grouped with pantry stuff. My store usually has those cans on the bottom so they can be easy to miss!
I will search the store top to bottom next chance i get, my mouth is watering, thank you
Get the baked great northern beans as well. They are located in the same spot. Friggin delicious it's absolutely absurd how good they are
These are such a great lunch item. The ones with the alternative stuffing (quinoa?) are not as good.
I am obsessed with these too and the other canned foods they sell. I call them Human Adult Cat Food and cannot have them for more than 48 hours before opening them all YUMMM.
Must find and try.
I am obsessed with these!!
I got them 2 days ago because of all the hype on the sub and had it last night for dinner, holy shit it’s actual crack theyre so good
Yooo the quinoa stuffed dolma. Them shits is fire
Soooooooo good
There are TEN dolmas in that can!?
They really pack them in there
Delicious little treat.
These are surprisingly easy for canned. They save me time and the back breaking work of rolling them! I always have several cans in my pantry. Great for company appetizer platters. My Greek husband and I have “ Meze Night” every Friday for dinner and These are the main component.
I love these!
They’re so oily but delicious 😭
Yes! I lay them on a paper towel and dab off excess oil
Ooooh I’m going to grab some and have Mediterranean delight tmrrw
I’ve never seen them, fingers crossed I can find them. My chef grandpa used to make them from the grape leaves we had growing in the back yard.
Look near the canned fish. They are usually on an upper shelf. Or show a crew member the photo of the can and ask them to help you find them!
Thanks!
Love the ones stuffed w quinoa
I always keep a few cans of these on hand for when I have people over or I’m feeling like a snacky dinner.
my mouths watering. they are like pickled in a way and so good ugh I wish I had some
love them! i chop up some romaine, open a can of these and pair them with (also TJ’s) the chickpeas with cumin or the fava beans in tomato sauce - both on the same shelf in the same kind of can. eat them with some toasted tandoori naan. delish!
All of these are must haves!!
I’ve never had these! Are they pretty salty? They look 😮💨😮💨
Not salty. Perfection
Mmmmmmm nomnomnom either way
With feta cheese SOO good
Oh that’s smart!
Yup
What do you guys pair with these? I uhhhhh just eat them out of the can
I actually make a big batch of couscous and then have these, the Greek chickpeas, the Greek eggplant and the giant beans with feta and a tahini dressing on top as like a Mediterranean bowl and portion them out for lunches.
Greek salad. Gyro meat or grilled chicken. And always feta.
I always keep some around for a quick lunch to take with me to work!
Love them, so tasty
Never seen/had them. Gotta see if it’s avail at my local TJs.
They’re usually in the same spot as the canned Greek chickpeas!
Must’ve missed them bc I’ve gotten the chickpeas. Ty!
They truly are the best
just bought some today!! always want to buy 1000 cans of them lol
okay i at all of them already in 5 min
These are in my top 5 Trader Joe’s item list! Love them so much.
I had grape leaves stuffed with feta cheese at Napa Rose in the Grand Californian Hotel at the Disneyland Resort and I’ve never been able to eat them with rice since.
Not sure why you’re being downvoted. That sounds amazing.
I’ve been living on Trader Joe’s canned beans.
What are your faves?
The Giant baked beans in tomato sauce right out of the can…soooo good!

I have emergency dolmas in my office desk too!

Hey office dolma family!
