Back of the knee was not fun compared to my actual knee cap/front. The outline made my eye twitch uncontrollably. 🥴
I also really didn’t like the feeling of my ankle/achilles tendon being tattooed. It was a 50/50 mix of high pain and a nasty electrifying sensation (kind of like the tendons in your wrist being tattooed over but worse because the bone/tendon is RIGHT under the surface). I’d take the knee over that any day, gives me goosebumps thinking about it. Yeeeesh
Agreed, elbow and elbow pit were both surprisingly easy. But I think I went into both of those appointments hyping myself up *SO* much that they ended up being slightly underwhelming

Have you got your toes and feet done? I have my toes to my hip covered on my left leg and nothing was as painful as the toes and area close to the toes on the top of my foot. Next was front, back, and sides of my knee and next was everything else equally. Turns out tattoos hurt.

I thought the same and boy was I wrong. My knees are tough thanks to being in the trades and kneeling a lot, plus various sports have beat me up so my pain tolerance is decent. But the knee cap absolutely wrecked me. Lines weren't to bad but color was torture. I ended up using numbing creme to get through it. I'm pretty skinny and there's not much meat on my knees so it felt like the needle was going into my bones...

I don’t mean to be an “actualllly” guy on this post, but I can’t believe the knee is among the worst spots on your average person given it really was one of the easiest spots for me that wasn’t an obviously easy spot, like outer bicep, shin, top of the forearm, etc
I got my knee blasted yesterday and it was NOT my first tattoo (30+) and it is far and away my most painful tattoo. Kudos to you go get more easy ones now.

Honestly the shin isn't so bad, I got the sides of my calves for my 1st and 3rd tattoo, they go all the way up to the back of the knee area on both sides and wrap to the front as well. Shin was the easiest part of both tattoos by far lol
Sat still through the whole thing with no prob, but was honestly wincing my face muscles almost every line he pulled haha. Not sure how people stay straight faced haha maybe that’s just my coping mechanism. It took 2.5hrs, I think he is quick

Ive tattooed both knees on myself and they were not painfull at all. Top and lower ribs when getting 6 hours of shading non stop and lower back and stomache dont feel good.
Did my knee as my second tattoo and have no regrets. Did it hurt? Yes. Will the other tattoos now hurt less? Definetly.

So funny how pain tolerance works. Elbow and elbow ditch were easy for me. However inner bicep gave me an almost spiritual level of pain.
I hated my elbows and ditches but both of my inner arms were significantly less painful for me than I think it is for most people.
