Impulse coupled with regret, primarily, but it always seemed short sighted- not a whole lot you can do to change things once it's blacked out.. so it's like, double impulsiveness results in an even worse decision
Here’s the thing, any super bold work is gonna be almost impossible to change anyways unless you go blackout anyways. It’s not like if you go a full heavy sleeve of images that it’s an easily reversible process. If you rlly regret it you end up with the blackout anyways just one step away. What’s happened is people are starting to fall in love with the aesthetic and simplicity of the black sleeves. Think about how tattoos can become armor for people, what’s stronger armor than a solid cohesive sheet without any chunks in the armor.
One downside of not starting with the blackout though is you’re more limited in what you can do with negative space which is what really makes good blackouts pop.
this is total bullshit. It’s just another tattoo, like why aren’t you calling this one bullshit? And plus if the person wanted to they could get white work done over it. I’m sure 99% of people have no regret for having blackouts done and it most certainly is not an impulse decision
99% is a high degree of certainty into something that you have no real insight into. "I wanted a tattoo- so I did no research, went and got one and now I hate it" is seen here in this sub all the time..
Additionally: cmon, for real, blackout is lame.
Jesus Christ man have you considered that other people other than you have things they enjoy. Can you pull up the fucking statistics saying of how many people regretted the tattoos??? You don’t have insight fucking either you’re off the fucking rocker. Additionally this tattoo isn’t even a black out so idk where the fuck you decided to spew this bullshit. I think it’s dedication to the person getting it, it takes so long and definitely hurts. I don’t know why you’re so pissed about this
Who's pissed? Look at your messages - you're all worked up. I just said this looks stupid, and I was replying to someone who was talking about blackouts, which is *also* stupid.
If you like it, that's fine, I don't care, but I still think it's dumb.
Who's heated? And who said you should or shouldn't do something?
I said blackout tattoos were dumb, and essentially I said that your blastover made my eyes hurt.. It's my opinion - theres been no heat, except from the person who decided to tirade against what I said because they have the need to defend strangers who make questionable decisions with fad tattoos for some reason.
Super rad. Love me a good blast over. I low key hope some of mine fade so I can get a sick panther over some. Mine are all black heavy American traditional but you never know how they’ll look in ten more years.
Post a healed pic in a few months, I’d love to see it settled in
May we revisit this in 90 days? I would love to see the settled in look.
Totally
blastovers make me FEEL ALIVE
Blastovers are my shit. Looks amazing.
I can’t get enough of em
Same. Getting all my trash blasted over for years haha
Solid work. Genuinely curious, what’s up with this new blast over trend? Alternative to a cover up? Kind of a graffiti feel or?
Idk. Fuck it I guess.
Right on🤘🏼
This comment was enough for me! I’m in Medina, will be scheduling with you for next piece.
Hey man I’d be stoked to work with you!!
Also thank you!
Definitely feels like a graff thing in the best way. Same with those tattoos that just barely cover old work. "Clipped yo shit n*gga now what"
That’s pretty cool. Planning to layer over my tattoos in like 20 years when they start to fade
Looking at this makes me feel like I'm having a stroke
I have always wondered what leads to people blacking out their arms

Heated discourse on what someone should or shouldn’t do with their own body is a little odd buddy. If ya don’t like it move on.

Idk I didn’t read it. I’m high.
Saw this on insta! Justin (the owner) is amazing I have several oh his tattoos.
Yeah Justin is the shit. Great tattooer and human.
😅 I totally didn't realize you were the artist. Great work!
Thanks buddy!

This sits so well over the other pieces. I love that you can still see the eyes of the characters underneath
That’s definitely one of the tattoos of all time
Funny!
I love blast overs. Sick work.
Pretty sick!!!!!!!!!!
Hell yeah
Hell yeah!

Thanks bud!
… on purpose?
No on accident
