Facial hair growth timelines fluctuate widely due to genetics, so I don’t think there can be a singular consensus on when facial hair will start, darken, etc. - some folks don’t get much facial hair on T at all, and facial hair growth timelines tend to differ by a matter of months or even years for those who do see growth. Personally, about a year and eight months on T, I started having slightly thicker, darkened sideburns instead of just wisps; I’m still waiting for more than a wispy goatee and mustache at 2 years on T. Btw, the concept of shaving your beard to make it grow in better is a myth. (Source: NIH study, found [here](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2151163/)) Your beard should grow in the same way regardless of whether or not you shave it regularly. :)

It takes years for facial hair to properly come in, and it's all a genetic lottery I'm afraid. I'm nearly two years on T and my neck beard has come in full force, along with the dirt stache and some side burns. The cheeks are always the last thing to fill in. Some cis men don't have full beards until their twenties, so give it time. Do what makes you comfortable, up until recently I shaved mine off every few days, but I've found since letting it grow, I have more facial hair than I thought (and its quite fun watching it all grow). Wait and see what happens, you may be suprised :)

I'm also plus size, and mine started coming in within the first two months- because facial hair runs strong in my family. Look at your father, grandfathers, any blood uncles, any brothers or male cousins. The speed and quality of your facial hair growing in depends on them.

I’m 9 months on T. I think I’ve gotten good hair genetics. I’m growing more and thicker hair EVERYWHERE. Butt, legs, chest, back, belly, and face. I’ve got wispy sideburns, a small stache coming in that’s noticeable especially when my top lip is wet, ghost of a goatee and beard with single LONG hairs on my chin and right cheek, and my voice has been cracking for a while now. My friend says he notices the difference. I’ve been wanting the long hairs to grow on the left side as well but it’s not happening rn but it will. T has been very kind to me Ian’s I’m so happy. I’ve gotten lots on weight distribution like hip dips and clear muscles growth. Gained around 15-20 lbs as well. T is VERY genetic, it WONT be the same for everyone.

8 years on T, the men in my family aren’t very hairy haha. All I got is a solid Johnny depp style mustache/chin stubble. I used to get so sad about wanting a beard, but I’m really happy with how masculine my face has become

For me it started a few months in and at two years on T I now have a full beard and moustache. Everyone’s different.

Shaving won't do anything about hair growth : it will just cut the tip of your hair sharper and that's what make facial hair appear more dark . Shaving and oils won't do anything to activate the hair folicule (it's like the "seed" for your hair to grow) I started having a proper beard at 3-4 years on t if i recall correctly, but it still was very patchy. Now it's better at 7+ years on t but every man i know started with a patchy beard, and sometimes it will never fill in that's just how it is, many men have to deal with it! In my case my moustache and my beard don't connect yet, but it's getting there and two years ago it was even more seperated
