Indonesia is one of the countries where 3rd party booking sites do come in handy as the domestic airlines' websites can be finicky with foreign credit cards. Traveloka is pretty popular. You can also go to a local travel agent wherever you are in Bali and they should be able to book for you.

Thank you. I had heard about the credit card issue but I didn't even get that far. Since then I tried a 3rd party (just used booking dot com) and got something. Now I just have to hope they don't do anything obnoxious like cancel our flight last minute (which sounds like a real issue with Lion).

I flew domestically a couple times with Lion when I was in Indonesia and it was fine. One flight was a bit late and they just started giving out snacks and water to all of us in the terminal. You never see that in the West!

I had a similar issue with the website staying blank after entering airports/dates. I was able to book successfully using a VPN set to Indonesia. My US Visa credit card didn't work, but Amex worked fine. Not sure if it was my bank or Lion Air blocking the Visa card.
