FLORENCE + THE MACHINE (not really pop, but has some romantic songs, but has lots of non love songs)
KACEY MUSGRAVES (lots of romance and heartbreak)
ADELE (been getting into her, beautiful instrumentals and vocals)
Florence! Loml, truly 1 in a million. I've been casually into Adele for a while but I'm gonna go add her discography to my "to listen". I've got nothing on Ms Musgraves, any favourites to reccomend?
Golden Hour and Deeper Well albums are my faves and they are mature songwriting on love and finding oneself. Star-crossed is a heartbreak/divorce album!
Cyn has been a favorite recently. Chihiro (Billiam Eyelash) is STUCK in my head in the best of ways.
Chappell Roan fills the OG lady Gaga need that I have.
Winona Oak!!
I've been listening to Billie Eilish's new album on repeat. I've also been listening to Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey, Olivia Rodrigo, and Emma Blackery.
Not a pop lady, but I've been enjoying the new Twenty One Pilots album. "The Craving" really got me.
Kue Varo's Cowboy Witchcraft was my favorite album of 2023, and so far The Last Dinner Party's Prelude to Ecstasy is my favorite of 2024. Women who fucking rock and write amazing songs are so much more fun than another watered down Jack Antonoff record of 31 songs with the same chord progression.
I highly highly recommend a relatively new artist named Lori Triplett. Her second album came out a month or so ago and is called “When the Morning Comes.”
She is less pop and very much singer/songwriter. But her album is filled with simple gems. I’d personally recommend “All I’m Letting Go Of”’if you just want a taste.
my partner’s band worked with Tessa Violet recently! She’s awesome.
Zella used to live in my old neighborhood and she’s one of the most talented people I’ve met. I love her new music with her boyfriend 💛
Currently listening to some Jazz and Rap.
Right now, my main album of choice is ‘Promises’ by Floating Points, the London Symphony Orchestra and Pharoah Sanders (R.I.P. to a legend)
Mangrove. It’s a small band i love. The lead singer is really amazing I know her personally and she’s like a writing genius she’s the reason I passed AP Lang lol.
Maggie Rogers (I have had her new album on repeat!!!!!), Hannah Jadagu, The Japanese House, Men I Trust, Hana Eid, Wisp, Medium Build! There are a LOT of good alternative and indie pop releases right now!
If y’all like rap/hiphop, Killer Mike’s latest album is great too! And Megan of course!!!!!
Loving Billie, Chappel Roan, Remi Wolf, Stephen Sanchez (not a lady but has a 50s crooner vibe which is cute), Hozier (who imo is a real lyrical genius). Chappel’s midwest princess album is very good. Highly rec listening to the whole thing. I love her persona and she’s genuinely a good singer (and actually queer!!)
I’ve been wondering the same thing given the nature of this sub! Lately it’s been Ariana Grande (problematic lately but she put out a hell of an album ♾️☀️), Dua Lipa, Renee Rapp, and Billie Eilish.
I’ve recently become obsessed with The 1975(‘s music).
And disclaimer! I didn’t get in to the 1975 because of Taylor. (well not directly). TTPD came out and all the talk and drama is how I found out Halsey’s connection to MH. I love Halsey & Into the badlands, so my interest was piqued and I decided to give the band a listen.
My playlist as of late is The 1975, Halsey, a few Billie songs from her new album & Espresso.
Clairo Lana Adele Anyone but Miss Amerivictim
Honorary mention of Maggie Rogers and Chappel Roan - though I feel they both fill a different niche.
Chappel Roan is SO GOOD
Clario has a fun new single
Yes to both!
Maggie Rogers is SO GOOD! She made Pharrell cry when she presented Alaska! 😭 [Video](https://youtu.be/W7i63OLqcj8?si=NyakTeIZVOHEma-H)

Also check out Halsey’s “If I can’t have love I want power” if you haven’t.

Can't go wrong with Golden Hour. Deeper Well is good too. That's her newest album.

The new TØP album is so good

Thanks for this!! I listened to Safe Place to Land ans what a gem. 🙇🏻♀️
Olivia Rodrigo (I have GUTS on repeat DAILY), some of Billie Eilish, Leon Bridges
I'm giving Dua Lipa's Radical Optimism the love it didn't quite get.
Added to my list - thank you!
I will never get the hate for this album 😭 It’s been on repeat lol

Chappell Roan!
They’re definitely more on the country side than on the pop side, but check out Megan Moroney and Hailey Whitters. They are both awesome!
Oh, yes! Love those two. Gotta add my girl Lainey to the list as well.
More pop-adjacent than actually pop, but I'm partial to Amy Macdonald and HEIZE.
Heize! 🙇🏻♀️
King Gizzard and the lizard wizard
Recently, Caroline Polachek
Ariana. I know, i know. She's the next most hated pop star. I'm ok with that.
Laufey, Kacey Musgraves and Olivia Rodrigo
Currently listening to some Jazz and Rap. Right now, my main album of choice is ‘Promises’ by Floating Points, the London Symphony Orchestra and Pharoah Sanders (R.I.P. to a legend)

I haven’t seen The Beaches mentioned here yet - their songs are so catchy!

Went to see them a few months ago and it was like a big party. So much fun!! Love their music!!
