I think she taps into the worst, most petty parts of white women. Like, I consider myself an intersectional feminist but there are days I’m cranky and tired and feeling “victimized” (not proud of it) and I need to *work* to fight the pettier part of myself. I think there are women who just lean into their victimhood who see themselves reflected in Taylor.

Your flair 😂 I remember years ago my mom was like “I’m sick of Taylor singing about her outfits and red lipstick” 💀

It’s because she has made it that way from the start. Inserting clues into all her lyric booklets and such. That turned into “easter eggs” and clues. She knew that spending extra time with her fans early on would be good for her career. The newer Swifties, I can’t speak for them.

I related to her when she was a teenager (because I was one too), but I never really “liked” her as a person because I didn’t know much about her. The way she presented herself back then was even more curated than now. When the real Taylor started to rear her ugly head, I knew that I definitely did *not* like her. I still liked her music though, until the double-decker shit sandwich that was Midnights and TTPD.

Pa-ra-so-cial-re-la-tion-ship. And she/management is smart enough to know how to feed it.

I mean it's star system, they're admiring a made up image, not very specific to Taylor Swift imo.
