You would need to combine Trench's yellow as well as it is part of the lore, right? The three would make grey, resulting in a totally different take on color theory, perspective, and emotions: neutrality, dignity, wisdom, intellect, maturity, comfort, calmness, and resolution, to name a few. I would say a lot of the lyrics and themes in Clancy are seeking these things.
I’m just talking about when the Bishops made an album, it was blue, when Clancy made an album that is basically the opposite of that it was red, those 2 concepts mixed together creates purple.
I’m shocked that the video was shorter than the audio. The bird chirping interruption is gone! I wish it was reversed, with the audio having no bird chirping, and the video being extended. I’m just glad there’s an official version of this song without the bird chirping, wish it was in audio too though.

Someone brought up on this subreddit previously that we've seen many numbers be significant in reference to the run time of the album or ps, like I believe 47.18 and 6.25, so someone said what if 8325 is more than just a dema violation, what if 83:25 is the total run time of both parts of a double album, after the 47 minutes from clancy that would put 36 minutes which is right about the time it would take to play 11 songs which would like up with the random letters Tyler tweeted, and it would make "clancy ultimus capitalus 25" or "clancy final chapter 25" mean that the finale is on track 25... I've always been skeptical of the double album theory and assumed instead that we would get some kind of ep or extra single, but after I read that connection, I think I'm a believer in the double album.

I think it's to show that Clancy is more powerful than most of the bishops. (Or for the metaphor, we have the power to overcome our problems). However, Nico/ Blurryface/ depression can never be completely stopped.
My theory, lore wise, is it's because bishops get their power to seize by channeling energy from the glorious gone to the neon gravestones. It is stolen energy. Clancy had the power willing given to him by the Neds. So Clancy's powers trump the bishops' powers as they were distracted with mass seizing.
3 interesting new things:
1. Bishops having the power to mass seize and resurrect using that electricity.
2. Clancy having the power to knockout (kill?) the bishops with the antlers, which immediately caused all the seized to fall as well.

The story of Clancy is not over. The music video and song both end on cliffhangers of sorts. Now, that doesn’t mean that a double album or EP or set of new songs is near. Just that we can expect more from the band on this story.
So let us be grateful for what we have instead of inventing farfetched theories of getting MORE NOW.
Music video was cool. A bit silly, but I don’t mind that. I am surprised that there was no scene of Clancy attempting to swim the paladin strait. I thought for sure we’d see him struggle through the waters to get to where he was going, but I don’t know the geography of Trench by any means.
The Nico part is bad ass. It’s unlikely it’s the same actor as Jumpsuit playing him, but if not, he resembles him really well. They captured that moment really well.
I am seriously glad we got to see more of the Clancy outfit. It’s such a striking and unique look, that I’d be sad if it was only in Overcompensate (and briefly in Next Semester).
Story wise, I could also see this. Tyler has made it clear in the songs that addiction, anxiety, etc are cycles that repeat and don’t seem to break. Now what if the end of Paladin strait is meant to show that? Clancy is captured again, But it can loop. Nico leads him outside of Trench, the banditos show up, etc. just an endless cycle of escaping, trying to defeat Nico/blurryface, but failing and getting captured again and again.
He defeated all of the bishops except Nico. When Nico rushed up and grabbed him, he didn’t fall into a trance as he usually does, he lifted his head and looked him in the eyes. I think it is the end, and Tyler knows it’s the most honest ending. Those of us who struggle with mental health or addiction issues can’t declare final victory, ever. It’s an ongoing process to live well and use healthy coping skills. *Know better, do better* as they say. *One day at a time* is the pace.
If Clancy defeated Nico, it wouldn’t be a genuine representation of healing or recovery. With this, it shows determination, strength, and growth. Like, “you’ve got me by the throat, but you don’t control me any more”. It’s such a beautiful way to end the story. 🤍

I’m hoping for something to drop on the 25th. But-maybe it won’t. He defeated all of the bishops except Nico. When Nico rushed up and grabbed him, he didn’t fall into a trance as he usually does, he lifted his head and looked him in the eyes. I think it is the end, and Tyler knows it’s the most honest ending. Those of us who struggle with mental health or addiction issues can’t declare final victory, ever. It’s an ongoing process to live well and use healthy coping skills. *Know better, do better* as they say. *One day at a time* is the pace. If Clancy defeated Nico, it wouldn’t be a genuine representation of healing or recovery. With this, it shows determination, strength, and growth. Like, “you’ve got me by the throat, but you don’t control me any more”. It’s such a beautiful way to end the story. 🤍

I’m hoping for something to drop on the 25th. But-maybe it won’t. I was theorizing that maybe it’s a representation of the fact that Nico/blurryface has a chokehold on Clancy, represented by a literally chokehold in the MV. There’s so much mental health discussion in their music. He was able to defeat some of the bishops (inner demons?) but not all. Not Nico. But my husband pointed out that’s not very positive/a “good” message to send to fans lol. I’m convinced we are getting another song.

Kinda why I’m leaning more towards “there’s more to come.” After he said that I was like oof…you’re right. Their songs can have some heaviness to them BUT it’s always about fighting through it or overcoming it, etc. The look Clancy has on his face at the end of the MV is one of determination, and one of fight. I think the big battle is yet to come.

Ok I’m not saying there might not be more, but I also think it’s completely logical to assume that it ended on a cliffhanger because the whole story is the battle of mental health. Mental health is a never ending battle of winning and losing and doing it all over again. It would be a fitting and even if there isn’t more.
