and get beat up when they see you

whispertamesthelion2

PTFTSOTSOTRs.  I don’t know how you pronounce it, but, it stands for “People That Find Their Stuff On The Side Of The Road.”

small-weiner-

100% stuff on the curb.

mamabear0513

Here in St Louis we call it anchoring. They leave belongings or even another person in the car to keep you from leaving.

The_GrimReefer96

Tell them all riders must exit upon a stop for safety reasons. Toss the belongings to the curb and peace out after 2. Fuck em, we don’t get paid for that.

CannibalAnus

Asshole. But if you sign up for a multi stop you should expect them to leave their belongings in vehicle until ride is complete. Or if you are brave enough set their shit on the side of the road and leave.

Bi-vacious

Sometimes ppl don’t make it a multi trip until they get in the car…. Because they know most drivers won’t accept them. Happens to me all the time

Spare-Security-1629

And Uber doesn't show multiple stops all the time in my market. You have to specifically look at ride details AFTER you accept the ride.

sfchillin

When that happens I straight up tell them I’m only taking you to your first location and I don’t do stops. They either cancel the stop or I end the ride when I drop them off. Stops are never worth it

CannibalAnus

Leave their shit on the side of the road and peace out. I’ve done it before and dont regret it.

kimn8r

I tell them I have another obligation and "I can't"

PobillyGirl65

I pull into a 24/7 place & cancel the ride. This old girl don't play that.

small-weiner-

don’t they have to pay you to return items they forget in your car?

CannibalAnus

It’s not worth it for me especially if i take them to another city. Memphis for example has like 5-6 different outer cities, i’m not driving from the north end of the city to another side for $20 when i’m missing out on fares.

Several-Spare6915

Not really they’re supposed to take their items

Soft-Situation-5152

People add the stop AFTER we accept the ride. Happens all the time ESPECIALLY when it's kids going to school. Mom will request the ride (for, like $6). Then when mom/kids pile into the car at the LAST SECOND (when I've already waited the time limit) mom will THEN add the stop back home that pays an additional.50 cents or whatever. A total ripoff. The parents know the scam because what normally takes 10-15 minutes now takes DOUBLE time to get the mom returned back to the house. For no extra money. Last time this happened I told her "don't add stops without asking. That is rude." I 1-starred her ass.

Kaizoku_Lodai

No they must exit the car with all belongings and people

Hippy_Lynne

I call them "not my passengers." You add a stop mid trip without asking me and I'm pulling over and kicking you out right there. If we get to the destination and then you add a stop after that, I'm telling you to get your stuff out of the car because I'm ending the ride right there. If you ask me if you can add a stop I tell you no and offer to pull over and let you get out and get a driver who'll let you. We don't get paid enough for stops. If you truly need to make a stop then give a cash tip with the request, otherwise take the bus!

ehutch2005

I like to call them "anchor wankers" since they're basically dropping an anchor by leaving stuff with you.

DomesticPlantLover

This should be the top answer!!

ga239577

Keep a few grocery bags under the seat and when they get out, throw it in a bag and leave it on the sidewalk. Aside from car seat issues, if you see a gaggle of kids tagging along I’d leave too. Once had some lady leave her kids in the car with me as an anchor while she shopped.

authoridad

Anchor babies? 🤭

Skye-Rye

When it pertains to me, I call them “people that no longer have their 💩.” But really they are known as “anchoring” paxholes.

Quiet-Insect-6598

I’ve dumped their shit where they’ve gotten out the car to go Walmart shopping

harringjess

Just put their items by the door or tell them to take it with them in case there’s an emergency

enigmabox01

If they don’t come back in time, throw it all out on the street. I always pass multi stop rides 100%.

djjbased

Throw it out curbside and cancel. Done it a few times.

PobillyGirl65

I let them know up front that the ride doesn't start until everyone is in the car & ready to go. They have the time left until it hits red & I'm gone. I even let them know that they will have to retrieve their belongings in the town that I live in because I do not sacrifice my time & energy to go out of my way for anyone. Don't really have too many issues.

DRAGONSPARK46

Just remove their stuff and leave, it's not your responsibility.

BathroomBreakAndy

I don’t get assholes that take long times for multi stops if I do it I’m running in a store and out or if my friends not outside in 5 minutes I’m leaving. I always add $5-$10 for a tip depending on distance

noobcondiment

Anchors… assholes also works.

FaxNscam

Can't leave? Chuck that shit on the ground or in nearest dumpster and by

ChemicalOk463

They're making their responsibility for yours by leaving their items inside.

Lumpy-Scientist838

Disappointed

DerDerDeDer

Yes I call them “people with their sh!t in the parking lotter’s”…lotter’s for short…

TruckerChet1973

Free stuff you say?

StarApple0721

Tell people to take all their items with them.

Kaizoku_Lodai

I tell them that all stuff must be removed from the car including people at every stop stops are 5 mins max there are no drive thru's or food pickup without it a run in rim out and no you can't leave your kid or car seat I my car

thecrazymr

tell them that if you need to cancel and leave, Uber is not responsible for lost items but if found there is a return fee.

Crazyredneck422

When they are getting out of your vehicle at the first stop politely inform them that you do not allow anchors. Remind them a stop is 5 minutes (or whatever your limit is) and that if they choose to leave their belongings in your vehicle that if they have not returned when the timer goes off that you will remove their items and leave them on the ground (sidewalk, anywhere near where you were parked) and you are not responsible for their items. Then, follow through, that’s the only way some of these entitled asshats will learn. I refuse to allow anyone to anchor me anywhere.

Dazzling-Wolverine29

Anchor Thats the word I was looking for, thank you. The ride in question took me to a store, they hopped out "just for a minute" and I sat and waited 10 minutes. Then I threw all of their possessions out of the window and canceled the rest of the trip. Today, they had the balls to lodge a 'missing item' complaint with uber lost and found. I know how to deal with these kinds of people, I was just looking for the word of the day, "Anchor".

MentalExercise1313

“Sorry Uber, I found no items in my car.”

DCHacker

The articles or people left in the vehicle are called "anchors". It comes from the cab business; specifically the radio cab drivers. In the cab business, people called the cab to an address. They would , put people or articles into the cab as they kept you waiting. Once you informed them of a waiting chrge (or if they saw that your meter was ON, they used to argue. Few who wanted a multi-stop cab trip argued about paying for waiting. Multi-stop trips are not unprofitable in a cab. Because Uber and Lyft pay so poorly, it is not profitable in a TNC cr. Add to this that most people who want stops do not tip.

kdeselms

Or leave their friend/partner. That's another well worn move.

Fluid-Fortune-432

Idiots. Thanks for the free stuff!

Superb-South-2915

Yes trash

Head-Elk1929

Why the hell do you need a phrase for people expecting you to do your job?

BedAdministrative619

The job only expects a couple of minutes of wait time. If they followed that, then we wouldn't be having a problem.

Head-Elk1929

Then OP should have indicated that he thought they were expecting him to overstay the time.

BedAdministrative619

They always overstay their time lol.

Head-Elk1929

That’s not my experience lol.
