I know this is a joke but it's crazy how Amanda Nunes is one of the few female fighters whose biomechanics are on par with the male athletes, I'm not saying she's just as skilled as male fighters like Poirier of course, but rather that unlike most female fighters she actually looks like she's properly putting her weight into her punches and rotating her hips as she throws rather than just throwing arm punches with no balance.
She looked like if you had put Eddie Alvarez into the Women's divisions and just told him to go nuts. She just walked everyone down with the assumption that none of them had the power to hurt her.
I'll keep saying it. Amanda punches through her target while the others punch at their target. Every time someone in WMMA lands a shot, their momentum literally stops the moment it makes contact.
She has the shoulder width and mass for that force to carry over.
If you don't have the mass for that force to translate, you're actually better off touching / point-fighting, as you're just gonna slow yourself down for minimal power gains.
What you are talking about depends on the punch you are throwing. The reason you get one punch knockouts from Suga, Izzy, venom, holland, etc etc etc is not shoulder mass.
While obviously not every fighter is built for power even someone who's not built like a puncher can still benefit from properly shifting their weight into their punches, it's just a matter of the physics that go into a good strike really, someone like Volk, Max or Cruz are clearly not heavy punchers and their technique was clearly focused much more on speed rather than power, but they still threw punches with proper technique (even if unorthodox at times), rather than just mindlessly flailing like a lot of female fighters do.
Few? Nunes, Holmes, Joanna, Rose, Weili, Shev, Grasso, Yan, Cyborg. That's off the top of my head. I've seen it in other fighters if I took the time to review and remember.

That Joanna vs Weilei fight was one of the best fights I've seen period. Pena was impressive in both matches against Nunes, but apparently she's still on the mend and hasn't fought since their rematch in 2022. I think they're hoping Kayla Harrison can fill the void, but she's also at the downturn of her career. Someone will eventually stand out.
