Going to respectfully disagree with this, because Conor and the UFC burned the goodwill of thousands of fans by canceling the press conference with no advance notice or reason. They are also burning their credibility with the mainstream with this nonsense, which is going to hurt them in the long run (especially as their ESPN deal nears completion).
If this is bumping interest, it’s more from a car-wreck perspective than genuine interest in the sport. Even if the UFC were to welcome the attention, they want for it to be on their terms, and they want to be the ones to control the promotion of the fight. Same thing happened with the Nate-Khamzat fight a couple of years ago — people were interested because it was something to laugh at, and I seriously doubt that translated into more PPV buys.
This whole debacle is humiliating for the UFC, especially just a couple of months removed from their inability to secure a headliner for UFC 300 until right before the event. Only a few weeks out and they can’t even promote it.

Fight could still be on, but there 10000% was something more than drama to last minute cancel presses in Dublin.
