Been smoking bongs 10 odd years and have always sunk cones without a filter, when we used to get acrylic bongs back in the day first port of call was to rip out the metal mesh from the cone pieces. Couldn't imagine using a filter tbh lol. Doubt it gets you higher though

What your friend is referring to is the Rush you get when it drops and the air releases and it forces some smoke into you which at times can make you feel all tingly and to some makes them feel like they're higher but usually fades off after a few seconds
The black stuff left by it dropping thru definitely does still get you high and there are *disgusting* humans out there that scrape and smoke it in desperate times

I like snapping bowls when using an ashcatcher bit use a guard on the rare occasion I smoke as it keeps debris and bong resin way down.
Smoking guazr or no guaze doesn't affect the high at all. If anything I feel using a guaze would be more efficient. For me I like the feeling of snapping bowls. There's just something satisfying about it
If you're emptying the bowl and it's not all ash you're definitely wasting weed, sounds like you're just toasting the weed with a lighter if I'm understanding correctly.
Apparently the coughing portion does actually elevate the high... however you have to ask yourself if its actually enjoyable or not lol. i had someone wind me once when i was a teen as he said "i have a method to get you higher than you have ever been since smoking weed. trust me dude it fucking works!!!"... i said sure show me your method!

This sounds like the way I smoke a bong. I always take the mesh out, and block the hole with a tiny amount of tobacco then fill the bowl with whatever flower I've got. You know you've cleared the bowl when you feel it pop. I usually use a dry herb vape though. Bongs are for getting absolutely stratosphericly high, a bit intense for a school night. But it's wrong to say taking the mesh out gets you higher, its just the way I was shown how to use a bong and never done it any different
