Unfortunately this path is very unlikely to be tenable. In order to work in the UK you need to have a sponsored position. Gig jobs aren’t possible for this.

Aalopk

Aren't there any agencies that can  sponsor my visa?

Ziggamorph

Acting is an incredibly competitive field even without the visa component. There are routes for *established* actors but if you’re just starting out there is not.

Aalopk

So then what should I do back off from my dream or face the odds. None can tell me how to do it.

Zestyclose_Ranger_78

It’s very weird that you’ve asked for advice on what to do, gotten it, and then responded ‘don’t tell me what to do’. You wanted to know what the possibility of your plan working is and you’ve been given a reasonable answer.

Aalopk

Sorry I was being emotional not reasonable. But can you help me through this.

Zestyclose_Ranger_78

There’s nothing to help. The kind of visa you hope for doesn’t exist. Acting is gig work, work visas are based on salaried roles attached to ongoing employment. You cannot get a working visa on gig based work.

This is a visa advice subreddit. We are giving you the *visa* advice that your plan does not work from a visa perspective. We are not telling you (nor should anyone) that you should give up on your dreams, but that you should be willing to be practical and flexible. For example, if you did complete a mechanical engineering degree, if you were able to find sponsored work in that field in the UK (again, not a given, sponsored work can be very hard to find in any field) then after 5 years you could attain ILR in the UK, and at that point be free to pursue your acting career without any visa issue. As I say, this is just an example, not necessarily the best course of action, which only you can decide.

Aalopk

Sorry I was being emotional at that time not reasonable. Thank you very much for your support.

Is there any other countries that have recognized film industry and that can help me?

MajesticProfession34

Hi OP, this plan is basically impossible. It's hard to find acting roles even as a British citizen. You're not going to find any sponsorship as an aspiring actor.

Educational_Bug29

If i were you, i would consider the following route. Put your acting career on pause for a time being and focus on obtaining permanent residency in one of the countries where you want to grow as an actor. Don't focus on UK specifically, it can be US or France or Germany, whatever. You'll have higher chances of getting residency if you do mechanical engineering. It might require getting educated in those countries, possibly multiple degrees. Then, get a job in that field, work a few years until you are eligible for permanent residency, and then you can resume your acting career. You can do acting as a side thing, as a hobby, while you are pursuing a career that helps with immigration. If you really want to come to the UK, here is more or less a realistic plan. Get a degree in STEM in your country, study hard to get the best possible marks, try to go to student conferences to present your work it will help you with the next step. Next step: apply for a PhD position in the UK, apply to a good university as it will help you to get a scholarship to cover your fees. Try to get good results in your PhD, publications, and conferences. After finishing PhD, get postdoctoral position sponsored by UKRI grant, apply for global talent visa, work for 3 more years on that visa, and you'll be eligible for ILR. Once you get ILR, you can start pursuing an acting career. You can keep doing acting during your studies, if you are lucky, someone might notice you and it will accelerate your career, but you can't rely on it in your journey. So realistically, in about 10 years, you can start your acting career in the UK

Thank you very much.

Thanks.

You could potentially get a skilled worker visa in the film industry as a mechanical engineer. I imagine mechanical engineers make props and create special effects. It seems very unlikely you would be able to do that straight out of university, but if you get some work experience, you might be able to do it later. That could perhaps lead to work as an actor in the long-term but you might want to consider your age at that point... perhaps it would satisfy you to just work in the film industry in some capacity.
