Live in the future and just put it straight into the landfill

Ambitious-Cod-8454

Purchase, revel in the glow of HAVING, landfill, next purchase. The true circle of life.

CorndogTorpedo

I like to display my collected UL packs/ gear in my gear shed for a few years before landfill. You should see how easy the gear shed is to move around my backyard. Made of polycarbonate and aluminum. I can carry it solo with a strap and a furniture cart... with all the gear still inside.

No_Albatross1975

Sounds like bushcract! Titanium and dyneema would be an ultra lite gear shed.

Do they have r/enlightenedequipment?

Van-van

2021 ver has updated toggles not compatible w 2024 drop

DenseContribution487

Succulent got me

ImSolidGold

*another* jacket runied.

RamaHikes

Looks pretty far gone. I'd compost it, then use the compost to grow weeds. Or weed. Either one. Then sell the wildflowers (or the weed) on the street corner, and maybe you can earn enough to replace the jacket.

Meet_James_Ensor

Does the down make the resulting crop ultralight?

Notunnecessarily

Excuse me this would require going outside and we strictly don't do that

RamaHikes

No, it's OK. You can order an indoor compost system and grow lamp from Amazon. And you can stop at the street corner on your way to get the wife's boyfriend more beer. Just be sure to make it snappy and get permission first.

Imaginary-Double2612

You guys use your stuff!?

aks4896

Where is the NSFW tag??!!

Conscious-Tip-119

I always buy two just in case I accidentally use one.

potatoflames

Your warranty is voided because they don't cover this kind of abuse and neglect.

Imaginary-Double2612

You guys use your stuff!?

NoManNoRiver

Pah! Obviously not! As OP said, they just put it in their bag, it hasn’t been worn or *[gasp]* taken outside

Ollidamra

Please keep it in your closet, it’s the safest place on the planet.

lazy_legs

Synthetic? Look at this pour with no eiderdown.

AromaLLC

I think next time it’s probably best to buy some Apex insulation, and 7D nylon separately…you don’t wanna ruin the insulating power by making it into a jacket. Thats gonna destroy the loft.

sbhikes

Good idea. I could just display it on the wall.

NitNav2000

Wait 40 years and you’ll be as wrinkled

sbhikes

In 40 years I will be dead.

NitNav2000

And wrinkled

rzrhh

DUDE WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?! Never ever ever ever put your down in the included stuff sack! If you do it will turn into mustard gas!

sbhikes

It wasn't the stuff sack. I put it in my 18L backpack.

Notunnecessarily

Hold up you didn't actually take the backpack *outside* did you? *shudders*

sbhikes

I brought it to my job. My job is outside. I'm so fucked.

Big_Matter9852

People work outside?

sbhikes

Yes with trees even. Terrifyingly close to bushcrafting.

Expert_Clerk_1775

Makes me sick thinking of how degraded that insulation is 🤢 maybe still good for use around the yard.

Sisuwalker

The yard outside? Sounds risky.

Notunnecessarily

Outside? We don't do that here

ljout

I'll buy it from you. It's too complicated to fix. DMs are open

Samimortal

Get it outta there!

BestoftheOkay

Quick before it infects the rest of the closet

Savings-Silver4575

Put it in the dryer.

Most_Somewhere_6849

Wrinkles add weight. You want to iron that thing to take the weight off.

mtn_viewer

Almost as bad as sleeping on it as a pillow

thewickedbarnacle

I leave everything in it's original package, in the gear closet. Everything is wrinkled, but pristine.

Slight_Can5120

Is your point that the jacket has lost its loft? If that’s because you had it stuffed tightly for a while, look up “restoring down loft”. Basically you gently wash (w/down soap) & rinse it, air dry it, and run it on “air only” dryer cycle to fluff it up. It helps a lot.

sbhikes

It's wrinkled and makes me look disheveled and poor.

Souvenirs_Indiscrets

What? I do not understand this post. We all pack our EE gear. It all comes out of stuff sacks wrinkled. It smoothes out with wear, or you can wash and dry it. What is the point of this post?

hikerjer

Put it in the dryer on fluff or no heat. Hardly the end of the world nor are you fucked. Jeeze.
