Job growth potential is there. In my office, the admin assistant came in making GS-5 money. She moved up to Data quality analyst after a few years and makes GS-9 money now. Just be weary of taking on new assignments and volunteering for extra duties. It piles up fast and is hard to get rid of after you agree to doing it.
It went well but I didn't get it. They were hiring 1 officer and im in a rural area. Thought having the interview was nice. I worked 8 years local probation in texas.

I interviewed recently but it was for US probation officer position. Seem like there is Mass hiring going on right now.
How did your interview go. I have applied countless times to opening at local office and gotten nothing. Are you previous state or local probation?
