I was a nonrate on a booty tender and I got a pretty bad one. I got blue hat after a few months and then went to a school. When I saw him after his ship pulled into my port, he still had his green hat but a lot less arrogance.
I call that “getting BM’d” it happened to me all the time as a non rate. One bm would yell at you to do something then another would yell “what the fuck are you doing!”
The dilemma:
* Throwing BM3 under the bus is normally poor military etiquette, and It could really screw up your relationship.
* Though, it could keep you from looking like a rockhead. Also, the Chief could benefit from the insight to BM3.
Tough call.
9 times out of 10, just suck it up.
Better yet.. BM1
I could top that getting yelled at by the high-speed lead seaman for something chief told you to do
The lead seaman is just a bm3
The lead seaman is angry because they are in their late twenties and have 2 years more seatime than the 18 year old bm3
As an MST who had to wait 3 years for a-school I feel this comment.
SNBM. A Snibbem.
Most definitely a cinnamonbun. SNBM
Sadly, those won’t exist anymore

How do I get orders to a booty tender? Would love to be stationed on one
Aye. Well played.
Drive the bus over BM3 and never let them forget it.
“Good coasties follow orders”
Ah yes our sea faring siblings suffer from the same issues as the navy 😢
Figure same shit happens is the marines army and probably not air force
Actually the Marines and space force are the only branches that met their recruiting goals in FY23
We weren’t talking about recruiting, unless I missed something
Go tell r/marines or somebody who cares
Super edgy of you.
Shit, the way the non-rate/BM3 situation is at the moment, non rate probably has way more time in!
Relatable.
