I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve been a Gregg defender for a loooooong time, but I can’t see how he survives this. I don’t know who the answer is, but there has to be someone out there that can progress us
At the same time, our guys have continued to underperform. Some of that is in GGG, but some of that is on them. Maybe the same lineup we keep rolling out isn’t good enough. This is probably a hot take, but based on who we saw in the past three games, I truly only feel confident in Jedi, Adams, Gio, Pulisic, probably Balogun going forward. Ream was good but he’s old, Richards and Turner were SHAKY all three games. Scally was decent but Dest? McKennie is who he is. Musah is quality but he only really played one game. You could argue Weah contributed heavily to us getting grouped. So how do you improve on what is out there?? You can’t just put someone in a top league and say that makes them elite
Its such a drag that we used to be hustle merchants that occasionally pulled off a shocking win, now we’re just hustle merchants. Gregg out, obviously, but also this group of players is wildly overrated.
First reaction, is there an update for Maximiliano Araújo’s injury? That looked *terrible*. Bigger than the game, I’d like to know if he’s ok.
Second thought? This was the worst officiated game I’ve ever seen. And I’ve been watching religiously since the lead up to the ‘98 cup.
Edit to add: I’m not saying that the match would have changed with better officiating, but it has to be called out. We didn’t capitalize. Period.
Getting knocked out in the group stages in the tournament you host is on the players and the coach. We can’t change the players, but we can change the coach.

I just don’t think we’re good enough. Our guys aren’t the first choice options at the respective teams. Our coach isn’t a tactical genius. We’re just not good enough. Outside of Pulisic, not a single player can create for themselves or teammates.
