from what I remember from their interviews, they said they plan on porting to console and implementing cross play right after they fully release the game.

It's gotta be in their plans, I don't play consoles but I feel like Valheim would suit controllers perfectly fine and definitely have a player base there, too.
They have said it is something they will think /talk about after they are gold on PC. Creating console versions and dealing with verifications while in beta would be too much.

I'm curious to see if they'll do this and how they'll implement it since so much of multiplayer currently relies upon Steam.
