See I don't understand that either (I am a tequila hater) but apparently it is a semi common spin on the drink. I've never once had anyone ask for it, but supposedly it's a thing. So I'll give them a pass on that I guess even though it feels so wrong to me
1 oz plain vodka
1 oz coffee vodka
1 oz coffee liqueur
1 (little espresso cup) of fresh espresso
Tiny squirt (.5 oz) simple syrup
Shake the shit out of it with ice and strain. It gets this foamy espresso head on it omg it’s lovely
I love Katie and scheana is there but it's like the divorce-o martini, it looks sad. I could absolutely see some douche taking someone to Chili's on $2 long Island night and ordering a woman this "fayncy" drink so he can tell her he's cheating and wants a divorce. And she'd look down and just be like "this makes so much sense".
I'm assuming that the "rum" they're using is Kahlua, which is coffee flavored and in the vodka version of this drink too, and that at least a portion of the tequila or what they're calling tequila is Patrón XO, which is coffee flavored. It really all goes together. Even if you add like an oz of straight up blanco (my preference, reposado has some sweetness to it), it's still really smooth. Theirs are dark so likely no Bailey's or cream liqueur, and they're nice and frothy which takes a very strong shake and immediate service.
And sorry, I'm a bit lit watching, but I always do 3 coffee beans when needed as a garnish.

Tbh, I made it with the same pours as I would with vodka (again, didn't know about this thing), but I bet if it were equal parts rum and tequila, it might have been better....😬
No no no no no. If the stews on below deck can make a better martini than this in the middle of the ocean I refuse to believe a landlocked human with full resources can’t be arsed to do BETTER.
