Looks like some kind of pickling cucumber to me. That is a good size to pick, you want to get them before the seeds mature or they get bitter and tough.

Faruhoinguh

Yeah, and it signals the plant that it is done making seeds, no need for more cucumbers.

jimmy_MNSTR

(shrugs) Boston Pickling heirloom. (some black spine pickler cuke)

crow-pie

This was my guess as well.

Dry-Extent-708

Or cross country

theveland

Generically, a pickling type. National Pickling, Boston Pickling, Wisconsin SMR, or Homemade are the common types.

seemebeawesome

Sumter, cross country too

Numerous-Stranger-81

My guess would be some type of Russian variety for pickling. They look to be ready.

No_Indication4035

National pickling cucumber. Pick small. They go yellow and bitter easily. And they grow better on side vines.

Dcrphoto

Pickling cucumber

Over-Hearing1087

that looks like "cournichon" variety , great for picle since they are very firm and crunchy ...

tu-BROOKE-ulosis

I have some Boston Pickling going right now, and that looks like a fat version of that. So pick maybe a day or two earlier than that.

Numerous-Stranger-81

Lol, "you should have picked it yesterday" is harsh

tu-BROOKE-ulosis

lol I mean for like the future! Haha. OP is about to have 800,000 cucumbers in the their future.

WillowOak2

I’m embracing the reality LOL

ringlen

SpitfireMkIV

Green ones.

BuffaloSabresWinger

Those are pickles

sorry_ifyoudont

They look like the ones I grew last year which were called bush crop. Let them get a little bigger before you pick them (IMO). They produced a lot!

Hobbies-keep-u-young

Boston pickler imo

2Supra4U

dont let one start to get yellow or the plant will slow down

komubijedzwon

But God forbid, don't pour vinegar over them, just make them fermented with water and salt, a bit of dill and horseradish. And if you want to eat them, just peel them and eat them like normal cucumbers from the supermarket, you can also cut them into slices, add a pinch of salt, pepper, chopped chives and mix with cream. This salad is delicious for hot days.

WillowOak2

that's the plan!!

OldBeardy77

The too big to pickle now type

CaprioPeter

What is your guys’ review on growing cucumbers in a tomato cage? Thought I could try curly bean poles but realizing they climb a little more laterally for them.

WillowOak2

I’m using a cage! Need to guide the vines up. So far so good

CaprioPeter

I’ll try it out

Spirited_angel_4517

Lol, cross breeding cucumber plant with dragon fruit with prickly edges. Kinda like it make pickles 🥒

FriskBlomster

Cuchonker

Fuzzy_Promotion_3316

The kind that needs a Biore strip.

Stinthis

Looks like a cornichon?

Numerous_Hedgehog_95

Looks like the love child of a cucumber and some bladder wort.

witchymann
