Flag of someone's personal opinion that some people seem to take really damn seriously for some reason.
As a casual watcher (not a patron either obv) of his videos, I never would have guessed that his mostly light-hearted and fun videos about geography, history, flags and hexagons etc would inspire such strong feelings and outright hatred from some people. Wild.
Flag of too many people who find it hard to understand that you can still like a youtuber and his work without needing to agree with his personal opinions on every single aspect of the existence.
yeah idrc i just mean that i think you can disagree with someone’s opinions and not call them something terrible at the same time. i get its a joke sort of but it’s not really funny and degrades the meaning of the word
i think it’s more of just a joke but idk i don’t think it’s great to undermine a word like that personally lol

I think a lot of it comes from the fact that people mostly don’t know shit about flags, and have a high trust in him. The things he says sound sensical and seem like baseline flag rules rather than his opinion on flags and for someone without the previous knowledge it’s hard to see any other perspective that could exist
Flag of this is the first intellectually challenging content I was ever exposed to, and therefore must be 100% factual and true (still probably better than most of the other “intellectual” content young people find online tho)
intellectual ideas like ”tourists visit the UK because they have a royal family” and ”schools don’t need to teach people languages because google translate exists”

Feels like his priorities have changed since covid. The few videos he does release are good, but there are so few now
as an australian i take offense to his assertion that our state flags are good because they all confirm to the same standard. they basically run into the same problem as the American 'Seal on a bedsheet' flags; being largely indistinguishable sans one overdesigned feature, just with a reminder of colonialism in the top left. he thinks the problem with the SoaB flags is that they have words on them.

Quels sont les drapeaux provinciaux francophones ? Je pensais que Québec était la seule province francophone au Canada (excluant le Nouveau Brunswick).
