It was so clean for a seemingly new IP, wacky and off the wall shit, so many different mechanics to mix up couch multi-player. God damn this game was SO good.
News has been scant, but Free Radical was reorganized and they're potentially working on a new Timesplitters game. Bundle that with recent Easter eggs to Timesplitters being included in Dead Island 2, and it's a compelling rumor, though not guaranteed.
Never spent much time with my dad. The last fond fun memory I have with him was him playing this with me as a boy and kicking my ass. He was a really good gamer but just hated gaming.
Holy shit. If only more could experience the amazement of this game. Between playing as long. Needing to conserve ur ammo. On harder difficulties. And the absolute terrifying aspect of hiding from predators, I’ll never forget when a raptor tried sticking its body through the ruins, and I’ll never forget when the giant Dino destroyed the ruins. Great game.
The sound design where you could legit hear where the raptors were and hiding from them was so badass. Sometimes youd run low on ammo and have to use the spears and that shit was nerve wracking. That game was so badass.
I remember the wierd crocodile like monsters in the bog that would suprise ambush you in the muck, fuck them things. The baby V-rexes were an unpleasant suprise too
First time I played it... was at walmart, with a xbox - the ones they had on display.
Then I bought it a year or two later. Played the shit out of it.
Loved it.
Early Socom was amazing and forever my favorite online experience. Unfortunately it died the same way as Medal of Honor — by being underfunded and overproduced by the end
I remember that he voice recognition was really wonky unless you spoke with a thick southern accent.
“Fire team, fire at will” didn’t work, but “far teem, far at weil” did
I worked at Sony on a different project but would hang out with the SOCOM team at lunch. Once we were blazing in the car and got pulled over, cop found out they worked on SOCOM and let us go.
I played RDR after Gun and realized it was almost the exact same game. Storywise very different, but gameplay elements were all there, same side quests and everything. Gun really was ahead of its time and absolutely deservse an upscale at least
There's a sneaky reference to it, or at least I like to think it is. In RDR1, the ferry that John took to Blackwater is called the Morningstar, the same name of the boat Cole took to Dodge City.
Gun was SO GOOD. Have a really fond memory of going into town one Saturday with my Mum for a dentist appointment, and she said I could pick a new Xbox game afterwards. Went into the local game place and was drawn to Gun, spent that weekend playing it. What a fucking blast.

Oh man I bought Mercenaries 2 in a whim, you know back in the day when you would just blindly buy a game without even looking at the ratings, ho-lee shit I was blown away. Killing all the playing card targets, calling in mortar attacks, what a blast that game was!
These games were the shit!
I used to plant a buncha C4 on vehicles and then just drive around and when I found an enemy I’d drive right at em, jump out, and blow them back to the Stone Age.
I was out there making high powered VBIEDs as a kid after school lmao
Yes I was going to say these games! They were mind blowing at the time, you had endless possibilities and an open sandbox. The progressive vehicle damage was icing on the cake
Still bump the soundtrack to this day for doses of nostalgia. I don’t know if I’ve ever played a game that made me think about the world in a more cosmic and existential sense besides SR1 and 2. As a youth my mind was completely boggled
Yeah. So sad, I was really hoping they would anounce Dino Crisis Remake in the 40th Anniverary Capcom stream. But the only dinosaurs we get, is in Exoprimal...
I still think about the outtakes from Bounty Hunter all the time lol. "I've got an itch and I can't scratch it! This jet pack weighs a ton!" It was like back when Pixar used to put outtakes in movies during the credits.
Syphon filter. But try to keep the look, gameplay, and feel as much as possible.
(I think I played the second one. First mission landing on a snowy mountain, trying to blow up a bridge? Or disarm a bridge?)
Yes!! I used to solely play the demo disk on Xbox 1, there was a sandbox type of mode where I would spend hours killing everyone by whipping them around with telekinesis lmfao
I always remember the way they directed the story, with it looking like a debriefing and the actual actors playing it.
Don’t even get me started on the gameplay, I fucking LOVED shooting every weapon in that game. Felt like I was actually holding that shit in my hand haha
Darkwatch. So fucking cool and edgy, I must have played the hell out of Boot Hill and the train levels on demo discs. I’m so hype for Witchfire cuz I’m gettin similar vibes.
Scooby Doo and the cyber chase video game!! I loved loved loved it as a kid and would play the shit out of a Scooby Doo video game as an adult. Imagine like an open world type game, where you could play as different members of the gang and come across different side quests of monsters, and an overarching storyline would be so fun
Scooby Doo has had very few good games, the SNES game was good, Cyber chase was good and night of 100 frights was good. Would love to see another actually good Scooby Doo game, pretty much any kind, Open world or just level based like Cyber chase.
Love fear.
Give 3 another chance. Abhorrent story and graphics are almost a downgrade but the moment to moment shooting is still good, albeit not as good as fear
Ico! It's the spiritual prequel to Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian
It would benefit so freakin well from modern graphics with its seaside cliffs and castle environment. Plus I always loved Yorda and want to see her more
Gun was one of the very few games kid me actually finished. It's even on the much smaller list of games I finished without a strategy guide.
Only games I can think of that I beat without a strategy guide by the time I played Gun are Kingdom Hearts, the Pokemon game for GameCube, Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, and some old robot battling game for GameCube where the plot twist at the end was that it was the post apocalypse and you all live in a bubble and are taught the world is flat and had an edge (the edge of the bubble)
I know this falls underneath a GTA clone but I really liked True Crime: New York City, I liked the whole good cop/bad cop point mechanic which for its time to me seemed like a brand new concept
Alpha Protocol had a great narrative structure, they just needed to smooth out the jank.
Call of Cthulu Dark Corners of the Earth needs a remake in which the game ends about 2/3 of the way through.
Given how the genre it birthed has exploded, I think an overhauled form of Dream Quest+ with some polished graphics could find a new audience.
All the Infinity Engine classics could really benefit from remakes, particularly given the success of Disco Elysium the king of kings (Planescape Torment) could find a new audience. Maybe Baldur's Gate 3 will get us there.
And man, what I wouldn't give for a modernized, spruced up version of the im-sim classics, like Deus Ex and Thief a la the System Shock remake.
Tremendously fun game. We need a reminder of the joyless oppression of fascism and the color and light we can bring back to the world when they’re removed from the public sphere.
resident evil remake on GameCube that was a remake of the director’s cut on ps1 which added small extra content and new music to the original resident evil on ps1 needs a modern remake. You feel me?
Thief: The Dark Project was *incredible* but largely forgotten by this point. Which annihilates my soul at the subatomic level. And yet still to this day it does things with the surreal the genre that aren’t being done much, like the way it treated sound and how much you needed to be on top of sound and look at every surface. I’ve never spent so much time studying the floor like a deadly threat as that game.
I would be through the roof with excitement if they remade 1, 2 and 3. Especially since 3 could benefit from opening its levels back up a bit. It was brilliant but felt stifled in level size in order to jump to consoles and jump up graphics.
Advent Rising could have been so much better with modern technology. Developed in the wrong console generation imo.
Also DOWNHILL DOMINATION!!! So much fun!!!
MAG.
I want to play the chaos of 256 dudes on a single map once more. Nothing felt like you were doing more for your team than to get behind enemy lines, knock out the AA, immediately hear the thunder of airstrikes start pouring in, and then watching the bunkers fall like dominoes.
Not really a remake but I thought the direction Metroid other m was going in was so good level design wise and combat. But people hated the portrayal of samus so much that they just threw the whole thing out.
2010 Red Dead Redemption on Xbox-360…best game I’ve ever played. Spent so many hours playing that game and the new one was a major disappointment in my opinion. Never came even remotely close to the one before it.
Time Splitters. A franchise that perfected itself with game 2 and rode that high until it was over. It’s been too long. A remake is needed.
It was so clean for a seemingly new IP, wacky and off the wall shit, so many different mechanics to mix up couch multi-player. God damn this game was SO good.
This was my favorite growing up. Recently bought TS3 on my Series X!

Peter Jackson's King Kong The Official Game Of The Movie
Few things as satisfying as killing a giant centipede with a spear!
The no HUD was awesome, first FPS I played that forced it.
I remember the wierd crocodile like monsters in the bog that would suprise ambush you in the muck, fuck them things. The baby V-rexes were an unpleasant suprise too
I fucking love that game
A movie tie-in game that was *somehow* incredible. Legitimately baffling. I must've completed it half a dozen times
Movie tie in games from that era were actually pretty good a lot of the time. They basically died the next console generation though
First 360 game I 1000 game scored. Was a fun romp.
Game was a survival horror at times.
Problem with that and gun is they are like 4 hours long
First time I played it... was at walmart, with a xbox - the ones they had on display. Then I bought it a year or two later. Played the shit out of it. Loved it.
ssx tricky
I was sad that none of the sequels really captured the same magic of Tricky. I felt that On Tour came closest tho
I really really miss the SOCOM series
Early Socom was amazing and forever my favorite online experience. Unfortunately it died the same way as Medal of Honor — by being underfunded and overproduced by the end
I remember being BLOWN AWAY by the idea that you could communicate with other players through an earpiece that connected to the game.
Still rockin a SOCOM profile pic on PS.
If it helps the 2020s are due for a tactical shooter reprise Third person milsims will be unreal with newer systems
Socom II was amazing
The warriors and godfather
Loved the Godfather. Great game to play with friends. We would get drunk and take turns trying to clear warehouses and such.
I was like 12 playing that lmao def would do that today though
I'll throw scarface into the mix. Kid me always wanted to see if I could make it across the water without being eaten.
+1 on the Warriors. Love the movie and music, put that in a gang melee focused open world game on modern GTA engine and I'm there for release day.
max payne
God yes. The OG Max Payne with modernized graphics and gameplay would be a day one purchase for me.
Remedy are remaking Max Payne 1 and 2 for Rockstar.
WHAT
Yeah there's been no progress updates in over a year though. It was kinda just announced and that's it
I loved that game, except for the damn baby maze level.
I thought it was supposed to be getting one
It is. One and two
Max Payne is in no way underrated.

a remake of 1/2 is coming out soon
Yes Gun. It was my RDR2 before Red Dead. I played the piss out of that game
I played RDR after Gun and realized it was almost the exact same game. Storywise very different, but gameplay elements were all there, same side quests and everything. Gun really was ahead of its time and absolutely deservse an upscale at least
Gun is the game that made me want to play red dead revolver and thus every other red dead game
Gun was the game that made me want to be a cowboy. Or at least a digital one.
For real tho
There's a sneaky reference to it, or at least I like to think it is. In RDR1, the ferry that John took to Blackwater is called the Morningstar, the same name of the boat Cole took to Dodge City.
I know right? Its like it was modeled after it
"Im hoodoo browwnnn." That game was ridiculously good.
"You were."
You just awoke something in me
You’ll still swing tomorruh
I can hear this line read.
I AINT YUR PAW!
I always thought that when I saw RDR come out. I was like "Wait, I've spent months playing this game already, haven't I?"
So did my cousin haha he played Gun religiously
got an xbox purely to replay this game. the storyline is so fucking solid. I was shocked to see how small the map is on an adult replay
They did manage to pack a fair bit into that tiny map tho.
It had some solid ass voice casting you had brad dourif ron Perlman lance Hendrickson Tom skerritt kris kristofferson
Gun was SO GOOD. Have a really fond memory of going into town one Saturday with my Mum for a dentist appointment, and she said I could pick a new Xbox game afterwards. Went into the local game place and was drawn to Gun, spent that weekend playing it. What a fucking blast.
i just bought it a few months back on ps2, been crazy busy with work so i haven’t been able to finish it yet. one of my favorite games of all time
GOT DAMN IT SONOF A BITCH! When you died was amazing
The Suffering
holy hell that’s a classic, there’s nothing like those PS2 horror games
havent thought about thst gem in so long
DUDE YES
Oh fuck yeah
Manhunt!
I don’t know if it would fly these days, but that game was my JAM for years.
It didn't really fly back then either though lol I remember it was a big controversy when it came out.
didnt fly back then either thats why it was essentially banned with that AO rating for pt II
Turok
Ooh! Which ones? The N64, the PS2, or the PS3? Or just the whole series in general?
All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. Congrats! 64 + 2 + 3 = 69 ^([Click here](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=LuckyNumber-Bot&subject=Stalk%20Me%20Pls&message=%2Fstalkme) to have me scan all your future comments.) \ ^(Summon me on specific comments with u/LuckyNumber-Bot.)
Nice
Nice
Who the hell is responsible for this bot?? Ted?
Turok and turok 2. After that they had the one game without any powers/weapons and it was awful
Simpsons hit and run
x1000
Currently replaying this on Steam Deck, amazing
are you playing the fan made remake?
Isn't there a guy on YouTube putting it into UE5?
Mercenaries 1 and 2
Those games were so damn fun, the building destruction and different air strikes hooked me as a young gamer haha
At the time it was insane that you could call in a bunker buster on any random building in a game and watch it come in and destroy it.
Exactlyyyy 😂 I remember leveling entire cities with that stuff haha
And then just randomly going around hitting NPCs over the head and throwing them in handcuffs for no reason. Those were the days lol
And from the same company, The Saboteur.
Yes. All the yes.
Gods, I want to carpet bomb a city again
Especially Merc 1. I played that for literally days. And it’s one of the last video games I had that still had some super fun cheat codes
Both were amazing games
Just cause is a game series and does almost the same thing. It doesn’t have Moab, which damn that was fun.
I miss the deck of 52 thing and finding specific targets on the map though
We had this in the breakroom of my job for years. No other game was as fun to just pick up for 15 mins and then put down.
Oh man I bought Mercenaries 2 in a whim, you know back in the day when you would just blindly buy a game without even looking at the ratings, ho-lee shit I was blown away. Killing all the playing card targets, calling in mortar attacks, what a blast that game was!
Damn I said just this. So good.
Came here to see this...you sir are a gentleman and a scholar
Hell yeah. The first one's soundtrack was fire too.
Yes please, I'll take one modernized Mercenaries please. I'll give all the monies. And make sure its for PC.
These games were the shit! I used to plant a buncha C4 on vehicles and then just drive around and when I found an enemy I’d drive right at em, jump out, and blow them back to the Stone Age. I was out there making high powered VBIEDs as a kid after school lmao
Merc 1 was my jam.
Yes I was going to say these games! They were mind blowing at the time, you had endless possibilities and an open sandbox. The progressive vehicle damage was icing on the cake
Army of Two Online support could be added so we could jump into missions with friends or random people online or play co-op.
This is what I consider the first “true” coop game. They could really amp up the features in a remake too
Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver
Such a cool story line. Opened my younger mind up to the concept of antiheroes and manipulating timelines. Raziel... You are worthy...
Super great game.
Still bump the soundtrack to this day for doses of nostalgia. I don’t know if I’ve ever played a game that made me think about the world in a more cosmic and existential sense besides SR1 and 2. As a youth my mind was completely boggled
Dino Crisis.................. please God....................
Yeah. So sad, I was really hoping they would anounce Dino Crisis Remake in the 40th Anniverary Capcom stream. But the only dinosaurs we get, is in Exoprimal...
Fusion Frenzy would be pretty sick too. I want to squash giant bugs in a train station.
Star wars bounty hunter
I still think about the outtakes from Bounty Hunter all the time lol. "I've got an itch and I can't scratch it! This jet pack weighs a ton!" It was like back when Pixar used to put outtakes in movies during the credits.
Def Jam: Fight For New York.
Telekinesis? I think that's a different game. Syphon Filter was the one where you could set people on fire by holding down the taser long enough.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
The old rampage games. Twisted metal. Bio shock #1 and infinite. RdR zombie dlc deserves it’s own game. Mercinaries
MDK
Didn’t expect to see this. I agree. Along with MDK3.
Spectacular game!
Vagrant Story.
Parasite Eve
seconded. its due. would look great today if given the attention.
I need a Tenchu: Stealth Assassin remake, now!
Black Please, no other shooter compares!!
i scrolled for a while and found it. I miss that game so damn much
I always remember the way they directed the story, with it looking like a debriefing and the actual actors playing it. Don’t even get me started on the gameplay, I fucking LOVED shooting every weapon in that game. Felt like I was actually holding that shit in my hand haha
And let not forget the music score.
Used to play that all the time with my uncle. Miss that game / ps2 … and my uncle smh
Just the part where they would have you focus on your gun as you reloaded. I loved it. Until it started giving me a headache lol
That was the first game I thought of when they asked "criminally underrated".
Soul reaver legacy of kain
Condemned:Criminal Origins and Psi Ops come to mind.
Not underrated but I really want a metal gear solid remake with the same love they gave to the resident evils.
Onimusha needs another chapter. I mean, why would they make a remaster of the first game unless they planned on doing something with the franchise
Darkwatch. So fucking cool and edgy, I must have played the hell out of Boot Hill and the train levels on demo discs. I’m so hype for Witchfire cuz I’m gettin similar vibes.
prototype. alex mercer needs to come back
Based we need a modern day remaster it would be insane.
Jade Empire
I am so happy someone remembers this game other than me. SO many good times with this game
Absolutely amazing game. 10/10
Who else did both chicks at the same time?.
This and Advent Rising are more choices. I’m genuinely surprised Jade Empire hasn’t been revisited.
The Jurassic Park game for the SNES.
Absolutely based
Bulletstorm
FEAR. The first game and expansion. Fuck 2 and 3.
Love fear. Give 3 another chance. Abhorrent story and graphics are almost a downgrade but the moment to moment shooting is still good, albeit not as good as fear
I loved 2 tho
Mercenaries.
Ico! It's the spiritual prequel to Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian It would benefit so freakin well from modern graphics with its seaside cliffs and castle environment.
The very first Red Faction the 2nd one was good but the first one on PS2 was so great. Would also think Original Mercenaries too.
I really want a remake of resistance fall of man.
Advent Rising needs a remaster overhall. The Suffering Blood Hexan and Hexan Beyond Heratic Edit for wrong title
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect!!
Crazy taxi
Sleeping dogs
The original Sly Cooper trilogy.
I would die for a Sly Cooper reboot a la Ratchet n Clank
Heretic. Need to get Raven off their CoD cycle and back to their roots.
Jet force Gemini from n64!
Maybe Baldur's Gate 3 will get us there. And man, what I wouldn't give for a modernized, spruced up version of the im-sim classics, like Deus Ex and Thief a la the System Shock remake.
Alpha Protocol is a fucking sleeper!!!
HEXEN or a legit fully fleshed out Gauntlet Legends.
Advent Rising
The ps2 game black
The Saboteur
Tremendously fun game. We need a reminder of the joyless oppression of fascism and the color and light we can bring back to the world when they’re removed from the public sphere.
Narc
resident evil remake on GameCube that was a remake of the director’s cut on ps1 which added small extra content and new music to the original resident evil on ps1 needs a modern remake. You feel me?
If we’re in fantasy land, Jade Empire. But we’ve been waiting on a KOTOR remake/sequel/remaster for over a decade, so it’ll never happen.
Gun is a great game
Spec Ops The Line
I think bully would be a fun remaster
The Warriors
Britney’s dance beat for the ps2!!!
Kane and lynch
Thief: The Dark Project was *incredible* but largely forgotten by this point. Which annihilates my soul at the subatomic level. And yet still to this day it does things with the surreal the genre that aren’t being done much, like the way it treated sound and how much you needed to be on top of sound and look at every surface. Especially since 3 could benefit from opening its levels back up a bit. It was brilliant but felt stifled in level size in order to jump to consoles and jump up graphics.
Dark Sector and WET. Not the greatest game of all time or anything but I remember them fondly, mainly for their aesthetics.
Advent Rising could have been so much better with modern technology. Developed in the wrong console generation imo. Also DOWNHILL DOMINATION!!! So much fun!!!
Gun walked so red dead redemption could run
I think Red Dead Revolver did that… but both were a lot of fun.
Vampire the Masquarade: Bloodlines. But only if it's made by people who really know what thay're doing.
MAG. I want to play the chaos of 256 dudes on a single map once more. Nothing felt like you were doing more for your team than to get behind enemy lines, knock out the AA, immediately hear the thunder of airstrikes start pouring in, and then watching the bunkers fall like dominoes.

Gotcha Force :/ Turok, Jet Force Gemini
2010 Red Dead Redemption on Xbox-360…best game I’ve ever played. Spent so many hours playing that game and the new one was a major disappointment in my opinion. Never came even remotely close to the one before it.
