Man it's just a screen on your face. It turns off, you're suddenly aware you're wearing a heavy blindfold.
We don't really have a deep sensory connection to VR, getting dropped out of the experience is basically just a bit annoying.
It’s not THAT immersive where something like you described could happen. Maybe in the future where more of your senses are immersed but definitely not with the current tech. It’s the same feeling you get when you’re playing on a screen and your power goes out for whatever reason
Annoyed. Didn't even get a notification. I thought my Quest 3 overheated and crashed, because I could still hear audio from my PC. (Using Virtual Desktop)
Power cuts do this. When it blacks out you go through a quick moment of fearing you're VR/system is fried, before realising it's all dead when you lift up the set.
Once did it while playing MSFS, flew from Naples FL, to Miami, then the keys. Right as I was about to land after a few hours of flying it died about 50 ft off the ground. Jarring and disappointing lol some how I didn't get the battery notification
It kind of lets you know with quest 2 because sound stops first then it seems like lag and finally it comes up with a little loading icon with the screen greyed then black and shuts off. Annoying for sure but no where more jarring than your computer freezing up.
while playing nms and cable got upluged because i moved to far away (i use a bigscreen beyond no battery) but yeah everything just shutting off dead silence is pretty strange after being in such a colorful world everything just feels dull for a bit afterwards
It happened to me when my Rift S cable died - I was in Skyrim VR somewhere near Whiterun when the screen just faded to black and I heard a slight fizzing noise in my ears which then went silent - it was just like dying - and apparently your auditory cortex is the last things to stop working when you die - so this is what happens in real life, everything goes black and you hear a few seconds of sound then you are gone... 🤣

First I think: "noooooooo" Then I realize it's 3am and I probably should go to be.
Honey, right Fukin now…. GO TO BE.
But I don’t wanna be! I prefer nonexistance!
I didn’t ask to be mom! You shouldn’t have made me BE without my consent!
Wannnnnaaaaaabeeeeeeee!
This kills you IRL.
yeah the microwave generator has a separate backup battery
Doesn’t something happen when the battery is about to shut off? Like it emits more stuff or something right?

Eh, it's as annoying as your monitor dying or your phone running out of battery.

Thank god it never happened to me psvr2. Yeah it's a wire but a single wire doesn't bother me for what I get back
Felt like my hands stopped working and suddenly the whole world turned dark.

Did you wake up in the back of a lurching wooden cart?
So; you're finally awake...

Ah, it's not that bad, what's worse is when one of your controllers dies, and your in game hand disappears, mid sword swinging
