Personally it seems your store manager deems you as a great employee if they put you on a loa. I would maybe take the LOA and come back when your ready. Good for you.

CharacterDebt4280

this makes me feel better! thanks!!

OnKBacA

I would put you on a LOA anyday

Puzzleheaded-Back789

This is actually great news and few stores do this so good for you

CharacterDebt4280

yayyyy

Tyrome4992

I absolutely agree. It wasnt a tl or a coach it was the SM they have your best interest at heart. !

[deleted]

It means your managment values you very highly! They want you to take however long it takes for you to get better. Then they want you back!

CharacterDebt4280

that’s great considering i haven’t been there that long. it’s probably because i was willing to work 4am shifts

xEmblazonx

Yes that does help lol. Ive only been at my store 3 months and they absolutely love me as well. I basically have an open availability any day any time. So they can schedule me whenever. And even though I thought I was just doing "my job" apparently im doing super well and i get told that a couple times/week

mommagawn123

Congrats! I'm glad to hear that you have good management that lets their employees know they're doing a good job.

OkSprinkles3037

Contact your manager and or People Lead and see what their thinking and requirements are. Go from there if it worth it. Truth be told that is likely a better solution for some with those issues as it is. I respect them for putting it in on your behalf.

CharacterDebt4280

will do, thanks!

Puzzleheaded-Back789

As a suffer of mental issues this post made me cry cause 1. Your awesome 2. Your store cares 3 . Even if you find another job work it and doesn’t work out you can come back

CharacterDebt4280

aww thanks!! this makes me feel better!!

AdImpossible9589

I wish. I tried to ask to go on a mental health loa as a coach and my store manager told me it was my fault I was feeling like that and that he doesn't give his coaches any mental health leaves.

CharacterDebt4280

i’m very grateful and lucky that they listened to me. i’m sorry you weren’t given that opportunity. mental health is a real thing

Disberon78

Good thing it isn't up to the store manager.

[deleted]

Do salaried managers have to get permission for LOAs? I’m a TL and whenever I feel like I need a mental health break I just get Sedgwick to take care of it

AdImpossible9589

No salaried don't need to get permission, I also quit that next week

Revolutionary_Air750

Your SM sounds like vapid narcissist

Financial_Capital352

As someone who suffers from significant mental health issues. What your store manager said could theoretically get someone killed if they keep saying it every time a situation like yours comes to their attention.

adml1227

Means you’ll never escape Walmarts grasp💀

CharacterDebt4280

that’s what i’m afraid of…

russianspy_1989

You're here [forever...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fdnz-T5cWyQ)

redneckotaku

Well, had you wanted to quit, all you had to do was tell management you quit, turn in your stuff, and go home. Don't know what you did, but you're now on a leave of absence, which is done by contacting Sedgwick. Now you have doctors to see and paperwork to get filled out.

CharacterDebt4280

I told them I was quitting, all of my stuff is turned in. I get an email from my store director telling me i’m put on a leave of absence, i never contacted anyone

Safe-Comfort-29

Would you rather quit and leave the store or go on a LOA ? From your post it sounds like your store wants you back. The leave gives you time to get yourself in a better state of mind. At the end of the leave, think about your options of going back. If you decide on the leave, make sure you follow up soon with Sedgewick and make sure the store knows and acknowledged the leave. Keep a paper trail. Good luck to you and take care of yourself.

redneckotaku

Call them back and remind them that you quit and you didn't authorize anyone to put you on a leave of absence.

CharacterDebt4280

will do, if they ever answer the phone

SilverLinkin

It's the equivalent to "Are you sure you want to cancel your subscription?" "If you stay, we'll give you another 30 days free."

Abusive moderators threaten to report me to site reddit moderators for just asking why I was banned when I made a comment people don't want all electrical cars, because biden related it to pollution. r/technology. They threatened harassment because I made this comment and I asked why I was perm banned because of this statement which did not break any of their rules. Even if it did. They had banned the topic at hand: "Ford just reported a massive loss on every electrical vehicle it sold" This is the comment that got me perm banned down below: Reddit moderators live up to their name as the most horrible mods on this planet. As stated through multiple social media posts, through youtube, discord, etc. I was perm banned for this comment: "It seems people are staying clear of all electrical cars. It relies too much on power stations. If you run out of power, and you don't have a charging station around, you are screwed. Biden's all electrical car plan via EPA rule is just propaganda. It seems like the government is trying to force less freedom on us in the name of environmental safety. It would not be constitutional to force you to use an all electrical car, but that has never stopped the government from eventually finding a way to coerce you into buying whatever they want."

MidKnightJai

Did you go through Sedgwick?

CharacterDebt4280

i didn’t

[deleted]

that you’re lacking mental health

Automatic_Cicada4965

i don't know anything about it but i do want to take this opportunity to say i think it's honorable you recognized what you needed for yourself and took that step. best of luck, i'm rooting for you.

aionyui

sounds like they're trying to fk your unemployment....

BenedictNik

Wait how can you get unemployment if you quit?

Margaret_mayhem

One of the two. Your manager likes you and wants you to have the opportunity to come back when you’re better…or they want to keep their turnover rate down so instead of “terminating” you in the system when you quit, which counts against them, they’re putting you on leave which just yanks you off the schedule at no fault to them. If you’re serious about quitting and don’t think it was done out of empathy, don’t call the store. Call Walmart Ethics to report it. Doing that to make their store numbers look better is fucked up.

ManufacturerKey1551

I’m pretty sure you have to go through Sedgwick. We had a girl at my store take a mental break loa twice. It’s really nice that they offered because now you can take a breather and collect yourself and rest and you still have a job. Are you a Team Lead or Coach?

pappawolfie

what it means is instead of having you quit they are willing to work with you and take a leave of absence to deal with things. also for those that don't know if you have documented mental health issues you can work with your doctor and sedgwick to get something called intermittent leave you can get it for other medical issues and if your kids or spouse have medical issues case dependant of course. what this does is between your doctor and sedgwick they give you x amount of days per month so that if you need a mental health day you can call out without getting pointed/reprocussion. granted you dont get paid for it but its very helpful. its also not something advertised. as for your loa speak to your people person and manager and speak about it all and how it works.

Risho96

It means you can come back after a while. They like you.

Ill_Jacket1017

On the bright side of that, it means that you’ll have a job on the other side of your sabbatical, should you want or need it

Fluffy_Expression644

I had a coworker that went on intermittent loa. She was scheduled 40 hrs and if she couldn't handle going to work she would call-in under mental health or something. But I could be wrong, I don't remember what she told me word for word.

Majestic_Mail2023

She probably called in under "Leave of Absence" and then notified Sedgwick she was taking an intermittent leave day.

OldManCheech

100% your SM values you and put you on LOA instead of letting you just leave. (Sometimes management isn’t the bad guy)

Dry_Relief_1113

Leave of absence
