I use different inks for different reasons. Use an acrylic or Indian ink for waterproof drawings or an ordinary ink for bleeding. I like Quink for bleeding as it breaks down as a brown-black wash.
I was using Rohrer & Klingner sketchINK and they're waterproof + lightfast. My dip pen has a flex nib. Sometimes it does create a blob if I'm not careful. Takes a while to dry.
I haven't ventured into indian inks. Sounds interesting
I wouldn't have known the bleeding was unintentional.
I had a professor at UNC once tell me that "art is 2% inspiration and 98% what you can make someone believe about it." So, you meant for it to come out that way ;)
I have been experimenting with this too. I was hoping to use the pen to define lines and spaces that need clean edges. I’ve been using cold press watercolor paper. I found that when the paper still saturated all I’m doing is tearing the paper so I also need to exercise patience! Keep going and looks good!
I'm glad you like it. It only bled because I didn't wait until dry XD. I was using waterproof ink but my dip pen made some blobs. Here's a link to the inks: [https://www.rohrer-klingner.de/en/sketchink-2/](https://www.rohrer-klingner.de/en/sketchink-2/)
I entered a ceramic competition when I was young. I used gold leaf paint (over the prior teal glaze) on the rim which cracked in the kiln.
I made it to the finalist round which included an interview about the process where I admitted that the glaze cracking was unexpected. She said “oh no! That’s what got you in the final round. You mean to tell me it was a mistake??”
I don’t remember how I responded but I do remember losing.
What’s my point? Accidents happen. Keep your mouth shut if it’s awesome.
But I like it. I know it's not what you wanted, but if you didn't say anything, I would still think it looks neat that way.
…and the result is serendipity!!! It’s lovely and perfect the way it turned out.
Love how this turned out!!!
It turned out really cool.
Its beautiful though…it wss a happy little accident 😃
Oh this is lovely! Happy little accidents and all that.
Reminds me of Quentin Blake's style; I love it!

This morning I saw a post that said not every specialty beer started out that way. It’s just how you market the end product
Pretty much applies to everything. At work, I get " you have to work on your brand." I am who I am.
Ink is supposed to bleed: your picture looks great

IT LOOKS SPECTACULAR! Excellent Work!!
I actually like it this way!
I like it. The bleeding looks interesting and intentional. Very nice composition.
Good job I like it
Yes, it looks messy, but I adore this look. I feel like watercolor is all about that bleeding and spreading.
This is beautiful!!
I love this!
