Now Gabi just has to trick boss into thinking that outsourcing core technology to a cheaper workforce (which she has secretly organized) is actually a great idea, so that all the means of production are in the hands of her goblin brethren.

Kirosh2

Seems like a perfect plan that would work.

Iron_Bob

But in reality, he will likely say that she broke her non-compete (which she didn't know she signed) and he will take all of her stuff I need a happy ending to this story tho or ima die

weirdo_nb

She can read quite well, and contract law seems mostly equivalent in this world

4morian5

Okay, backup plan. Spear in the neck.

Iron_Bob

NOW we're speaking goblin!

ayamrik

Well, the new shop is operated by Gabbie, her identical twin. What, the chef cannot differentiate between individual goblins?

False_Attorney_7279

Wait a minute… Uh oh **uh oh**

browsinganono

Slippery slope?

False_Attorney_7279

More like rushing waterfall

NorthGodFan

And then he disappears.

Elidon007

so we aren't as far behind on the story as I thought I expected something like other 20 untranslated comics

Soulful-Sorrow

Thanks for the translations, I didn't know how absorbed I would be in the story about a goblin girl experiencing capitalism.

PyroPirateS117

It's because inside every one of us, there's a little goblin girl experiencing capitalism.

Square-Ad1104

Ow! Ow! Get out!

SleepyTrucker102

... so... what? Gabbi's into fisting?

PyroPirateS117

Only if she's getting paid enough to generate a profit greater than her operating expenses. Otherwise, she isn't really experiencing capitalism, is she?

drislands

Are you doing the translating?

Kalekuda

Illegal logging, unlicensed manufacturing, manufacturing in a non-industrial zone, littering (sawdust)- the fines **will** put her out of business, and if that doesn't work, frivolous lawsuits will!

X_Dratkon

I don't think there are laws like this where Gabi is from, but good job showing that more advanced capitalism sucks even more 👍

AttitudeAndEffort2

And if not the laws, don't worry. Gabis competition will undercut her no matter what she charges to make sure her business can't be viable. The weight of capital will allow them to take losses for two years to have a monopoly for the next decade. And if Gabi somehow stays above water long enough anyway, they'll just buy her out and merge so that they can still ~~have that monopoly~~ "corner the market" 🤮

Royal-Doggie

and if you dont sell, you will take a lifelong vacation to a concrete lake

FaceDeer

I think having laws to prevent companies from logging any trees they want and building factories with unregulated emissions next to preschools are actually a *good* thing.

Jugaimo

Trust me, you want these protections (and insurance).

MyDadsUsername

With how the story is going so far, I could see the boss doing some lobbying and regulatory capture in the near future. Can't imagine he won't react to a disruptive innovator butting in on his market

Snoopdigglet

Boy, I sure do love regulatory capture!

Krask

Or her road to success becomes so crooked she becomes just like the chief.

jdjdkkddj

I could see this story going in that direction. ,, you're starting to sound like chef."

bolitboy2

In a attempt to become a better merchant she’s going to become the biggest menace to OSAH regulations

Astro4545

Not to mention infringement on IP

Th3Glutt0n

I don't think this guy owns the IP for wheels.

weirdo_nb

Who says anything about illegal or unlicensed, plus, sawdust has practical uses which Gabi's group can donate to

MyK_Alke

That smirk at the end, Just like Chiefs. Ah those students surpass their master so young nowadays :]

weirdo_nb

Except she is keeping her morality, while using the "weapons" she has received

DareDaDerrida

It might be premature to say that. She is cutting corners in the construction of factory equipment.

weirdo_nb

These aren't meant for long term, they are specifically meant to be the "kickoff" point

ShiningMagpie

That's what they all say. Nothing more permanent than a temporary solution.

Gemini_66

It would be more expensive in the long run to continuously replace the broken parts than to swap them out for the quality ones as soon as she can afford to. If it wasn't then Chief would be using an all wooden machine.

DareDaDerrida

How is it that you know this? Have you read past this page?

weirdo_nb

By analyzing the comic?

DareDaDerrida

I see.

CK1ing

You know what they say about the road to Hell. There will always be compromises to be made. There will always be that one more thing they need to do before they can go back to being good again.

iggyphi

im a gabi simp

IconoclastExplosive

We are Gabi simps, comrade

Hi. Check PM / Contact author please: [https://vk.com/dearonaks](https://vk.com/dearonaks)

Either-Will-1881

We all want to see Gabi happy, yet it seems we are gonna see her become crappy, just like her Chief Money corrupts

chewbacca77

Maybe she's going to do good things with her new power like the Arizona ice tea guy!

LuciusCypher

The corruption comes from power. To have power is to become corrupt. To remove corruption, you must remove power.

weirdo_nb

Absolute power does not corrupt absolutely, it attracts the corrupt like moths to a flame, certain forms of power require that cruelty, but others do not

LuciusCypher

Doesn't matter what form or source that power comes from, be it a tyrant with a monopoly on violence, a democracy coordinated to ensure the majority that votes is always on your side, or simply being the _only_ person who knows the "correct" way to do something. corruption comes from being able to gain power and wanting to keep it. Saying that there is some method, idealogy, some source of power that is infallibly good, is exactly the sorta propaganda the corrupt would use to convince everyone it's better for them to stay in power because any alternatives are seen as worse. Saying that only bad actors are willing to exploit, and the system is otherwise fine as long as those bad actors don't appear, doesnt fix the fact it _can_ be exploited and no one has tried to fix to it yet. You shouldn't have to wait for a tragedy to happen to be prepared for it. Just as you should not start planting seeds for food when you're hungry.

weirdo_nb

That is not what I'm saying, I'm saying not every seat of power taints those who sit upon it (some ABSOLUTELY do), but every seat of power draws people who'd abuse it

LuciusCypher

Hence, corruption comes from power. They're *always* going to go after power, regardless of form, regardless of potency. The only way you can keep them away is to make it known that the source of their power can be taken away as easily as it was gained. That's why things like unions, guilds, publicly funded infrastructure, etc exists. It removes the power of individual merchants, academies, and organizations from monopolizing whatever power they have by establishing a system that can be used to either compete against said power, or otherwise subvert their niche. These comics show what happens when there's a lack of those things. The boss is freely able to cut costs, fire and rehire employees for cheap, and jack up prices at a whim because there is no worker's union to protect from exploitation and no guilds to manage competitions. And as the last comic shows, the boss is able to go to a school that focuses on providing this sort of knowledge to the rich and capable, whereas Gabby has to settle for a school that cares more about their students passing exams than learning useful life or business skills. And more relevant in this comic, it'll be incredibly naive to believe that Gabby, should she obtain the power she needs to overthrow her boss, that she herself won't also take the same lessons he learned and use them to maintain her power the same as him, less some other upstart try to take her position just as she did her boss'. Because by trying to be different from her boss, by say making sure that the power she wields can be taken away if others believes she is incapable or abusing it, that in turn will lure those same corrupt actors to her position and use the very rules she established to prevent the power from corrupting to be taken away from her. Or as they say, to prepare for peace, prepare for war. And if you're going to war, you should always be prepared for it. It's a never ending cycle.

Either-Will-1881

Money *is* a kind of power, don't you think?

AvoriazInSummer

That’s a happy looking drawing of cogs.

Add_Identity

Author is a genius, using a cute goblin to make everyone go anticapitalist

DummiAI

Um... "Yai!" but also "oh, oh..."?

Dillo64

I want to think this comic will have a happy ending where the boss gets his comeuppance and a happy and healthy economy is somehow established where everyone benefits and no one gets screwed but I think I know that’s just not going to happen

Absenceofavoid

I’ve been enjoying this as an excellent underdog story with awesome exploration of various economic and labor concepts. If it ends with the new boss being the same as the old boss though I’ll die a little inside.

HeartoftheHive

I don't like where this is headed. This feels more like she is sinking down to their level.

ArchivedGarden

You will become the very thing you swore to destroy.

LoreMasterJack

LETS FUCKING GOOOO GABIIIIII!!!!!!

spazzafrazz

You were the chosen one! It was said you would destroy the capitalists, not join them. You were to bring balance to wages, not leave it in debt!

Sr_Hikari

Wait! Are she naked? I mean, she dont have underwear?

Garrosh

They aren't naked but, for some reason, female goblin don't wear shirts. Or bras. I'm going to guess is because... fan service?

Poyri35

Fan service seems to work, unless I misunderstood the comment https://www.reddit.com/r/webcomics/s/Z0qPenoqKY

SpotikusTheGreat

you ever weld naked? leather apron at a minimum

Captain_Pumpkinhead

This is my favorite ongoing Reddit comic. Keep it coming!

D-Cat95

That shit eating grin on her face in the last panel!!!! 😆😆😆 Like go Gabi go!!! But I hope she doesn’t beat the chief only to become just as bad…. That would be sad but real 😓

_sadad_32

Why am I so invested in dis series

Drumboardist

:sigh: Gabi's gonna try to break into the industry, only for her "machines" to continually break (due to being made out of wood), and wind up making an OnlyGoblins account to fund the entire thing, only to find it pays WAY BETTER than being an engineer, isn't she? I don't know if I like this "lesson" anymore.

opinionate_rooster

Gabi spends her money on cupcakes. Gabi's friend spends hers on shampoo.

sarumanofmanygenders

MEET DA NEW BOSS SAME AS DA OLD WUZ

Valirys-Reinhald

I have a sudden and inescapable dread that the final issue of this comic will be about how capitalism turns victims into oppressors, with Gabi's desperation under the system eventually becoming exploitation and then support of that system.

Basic_Sample_4133

Oh no is gabi getting corrupted?

weirdo_nb

Nah, her boss inadvertently gave her the tools to "topple the tower" so to speak, and she has consistently cared about people

Geahk

The old story of the idealistic entrepreneur who will ‘do things differently’ only to become corrupted by the nature of Capitalism. I was.

Zestyclose-Ease-8734

Uh oh. Certification incoming.

MrRaven95

That smile at the end concerns me.

pesadillaO01

If she can only afford the cheaper option, it will break and cost will be greater on the long run

ralanr

I believe in you, Gabi!

HamsterIV

I suspect Gabi is going to get a lesson in regulatory capture when her former boss gets her workshop shutdown on some technicality.

PrussianMorbius

>claims to be about teaching people communism >is encouraging people to become small business owners Bros it’s over. Mussolini won again.

Csjustin8032

I think the point is going to be that becoming a small business owner will lead to the same conditions that caused problems in the first place. But if that’s not the point then yeah it’s dumb

mooys

Please allow a plot beyond “gabi sad because capitalism bad” I like where this is going so much PLEASE don’t tear it away in 2 pages

IlIlllIlllIlIIllI

Doesn't the chief already have a warehouse full of wheels? She'll be undercut immediately.

leronjones

I'm just getting into this but I want more.

AcanthaceaeIll5349

An old boss of mine once said: if you require small ammounts of somtehing, it is often cheaper to make it yourself. Collague replied: so we are going to start building the cars for the company ourselfs?

Daxindos

YOU CAN DO IT GABI!!!

-TropicalFuckStorm-

For the workers!

un_blob

Gabi will become into chief !

Steam-powered-pickle

I can’t wait to see Gabi running this town one day

DatDing15

Alright now I'm hyped. Is this the start of a revenge arc? A good Ending? Does it end with the exploitive dude's head on spike?

Fuchur0n

UpdateMe!

Sp00nEater

NO GABBI! PLEASE DON'T BECOME THE VILLAIN YOU'RE FIGHTING AGAINST!!! :(((((

BrainyOrange96

GABI NO! RETAIN YOUR CHILDLIKE INNOCENCE, DO NOT BE CORRUPTED BY THE FLAWS OF CAPITALISM!

Csjustin8032

Gabi villain arc :O

C9752D

What site can I read the translation on?

eggplant_wizard12

Honestly when are we going to get a peek at those tots?

Captain_Backhand

Napoleon, give me some of those tots.

Bioth28

Keep it in your pants you degenerate

Bahn_Miststueck

how can Gabi produce Microchips?

No_Application_1219

There is no microchip at this age

Bahn_Miststueck

it’s obvious an fantasy World. There are probably some dwarfs with high technology XD

No_Application_1219

Yet i never seen any form of high technology in this comic series

DaTripleK

gregtech

No_Application_1219

This is not Minecraft dude

GroundbreakingOkra60

She will surpass Greg himself and become the new ultimate tech hero
