Only denim booty shorts are appropriate

femboi_enjoier

Jorts?

Objective_Wolverine7

Jort jorts

Pig_thunder

90s trackpants like in unbelievable Bulgarians or bust. But really you can wear whatever you want. I’ve seen people do the classic lifts in dress pants

DredFul

Look good lift good. I like compression shorts or 3/4 leggings myself. Can throw any shorts on top if you don't want to have your junk bulging out. Just make sure whatever you wear allows you to have a comfortable bottom position.

Due_Risk_5889

Haha, I like the leggings idea myself but wasn’t sure how I’d look. Great advice re: the junk thanks man

Acceptable-Book

I rock the compression shorts or 3/4 tights. Def need something underneath as they expose everything.

[deleted]

Ye I do this with basketball shorts on top

StandardVirus

3/4s work well, they don’t ride up like basketball shorts or something like that. I used to wear shorts ontop too, but started getting lazy and stopped bothering with them.

Due_Risk_5889

Thanks bro

GuardianSpear

Most people would generally wear tights so the material doesn’t catch the bar as you pull, and it also offers some protection for your thighs against scraping

Smug459

I prefer to wear sweatpants or tights. If I wear shorts my shins tend to bleed from the bar rubbing against them.

KurwaStronk32

Learning to pull properly would fix that.

Mayhewbythedoor

Learnt this the hard, and stubborn way. Way too many shower screams before I went full tights

[deleted]

As long as the jewels are tucked away safely, it’s not a big deal. Personally, I prefer compression shorts and leggings.

Professional_Gur_251

Stretchy Jorts

furbess

+1 for Virus. They will take a serious beating before giving in.

Littlerobber

Yes normal running shorts work. I often wear Lululemon shorts

Sage2050

Just make sure the waistband stretches. I have some swim trunks that don't stretch and I hate hate hate lifting in them Aside from that, just wear something comfortable

Eschwitz

If you’re fine with shorter cuts for shorts, I highly recommend rugby shorts like Gilbert or Cantabrrry. They’re decently priced and probably the most durable gym shorts I’ve ever owned. They’re designed for +100 kg men lifting other +100 kg men by their shorts. Good stuff. I usually wear compression shorts under them to protect the business.

Due_Risk_5889

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Compressions shorts it is - with something on top to cover the 'jewels/junk' haha

stillcantshoot

I wear Ten Thousand Gear shorts, they've held up the best against the abrasive barbell.

jewmoney808

Cheap Walmart stretchy shorts

NewCenturyNarratives

I personally lift in bodybuilding shorts

Fudge_is_1337

I'm 8 weeks in and have worn short rugby style shorts so far, although I have lost a lot of hair from the front of my quads. Would recommend some with undershorts maybe

laceupyrboots

Compression shorts/pants paired with an oversized shirt for modesty. They’re the only items I’m not scared will rip in a deep squat. I have a few pairs of Virus pants that have lasted an untold number of years, but also have Mava and CompressionZ pants from Amazon that are quite durable as well.

scherf50

Virus shorts or 3/4, and you don't need anything over top. Let your boys show. Lol

ArtAlternative4738

I lift in gray sweats and most of the time no shirt

Objective_Wolverine7

I really like champion mesh shorts, joggers, and track pants. Not a fan of anything thick, high spandex usually not that good either.

[deleted]

Shorts that fit snugly around your wait usually do the trick.

MysteriouScan6405

cheap adidas and nike gym shorts, whatever walmart has, nike pro tights and clearance fleece sweatpants. Stuff that I wouldn’t care about messing up and can wear with different shirts

[deleted]

Dri-fit will work! Go with anything comfortable to you and can move in. Super Weightlifting has compression shorts and leggings right now. The quality feels great and I don’t anticipate it tearing against the bar.
