Why wait until something happens? I've been waiting for an album of all the bands that Al parodies and styles his own stuff after re-recording his songs since the 80's. There's no doubt in my mind that it would be huge. So somebody make it happen or take this crowbar and JUST BASH MY HEAD IN! GO AHEAD, JUST BASH IT IN!
Because youd need a fuckload of record labels, companies, CEOs, musicians, artists, etc to all agree not only to spend money to do this, but to split the profits evenly among a dozen+ record labels and producers and writers and so on. The nightmare of getting 80-100+ labels to agree to anything is insane and not going to happen. At least if its a tribute concert for Al's passing, theyd be probably more likely to agree to it.
You just have to have the right type of magic, in this case the magic is money, sprinkle enough magic fairy money dust around the management company handling the Jackson rights and they’ll let you do whatever the hell you want with your hologram!
Well, what do you think is the problem? After everything, he's still beloved by a shit ton of people.
Also, nice flair. I remember getting that letter in the mail.
I don't think we should re-traumatize Al by having that psychomaniac Madonna anywhere near him, not after everything she put him through. So, maybe everyone but her?
Be funny if a band released a covers album, and they had the list of different songs on the back, but in actuality the lyrics are all just Weird Al versions.
Everyone knows that’ll never happen
The first part that is, Weird Al has been blessed with immortal life as long as he keeps making songs, if he ever were to die he’d have decided the world has enough positivity in it such that he isn’t needed anymore
I read somewhere that Don McLean sometimes sings the words to The Saga Begins instead of his own song when performing American Pie. i would love to hear this.
To the person that reported this, it's not A.I.

There are so many names that the concert would be called: “I can’t believe it’s not Al”, “The Weird Weird Al concert”…
"A Wrong Turn at Albuquerque."

Kennedy Center honers could do it.
I’m curious what percentage of these artists are still around.
Hopefully this will happen when he's inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
A charity concert or album would work for me.
Only if it’s capped off by a duet by hologram coolio and hologram Al.
Gotta have MJ and Kurt too
Instead of we are the world, call it “we are with Al”
Unsure if they’d do Holo-MJ

Hologram Al, aka HAL 9000.

Why this should be a posthumous concert. She would be nowhere near him.
I just need DEVO to sing Dare to Be Stupid and TMBG to sing Everything You Know Is Wrong.
Again, I really want U2 to play Albuquerque just so I can hear Bono holler the words "I HATE SAUERKRAUT!!".
I would think [The Rugburns](https://youtu.be/GN-THKvimi0?si=nS64ZQPEqrD3eEKA) would handle Albuquerque

This has been posted so many times that it’s reached Boomer Facebook Meme status
Now!

Same goes for style parodies. I would give up my left nut to hear They Might Be Giants perform “Everything You Know Is Wrong”
Too bad Coolio ain't alive to do a cover of Amish Paradise. I bet that would've been hilarious.
I read somewhere that Don McLean sometimes sings the words to The Saga Begins instead of his own song when performing American Pie. i would love to hear this.
Slight disagree. The tribute show should be artists he's parodied playing their version of his originals.
If something happens to Weird Al? What is Madonna up to?
Imagine every artist he has parodying doing a huge group version of “Don’t download this song”
Something like that should happen anyway, well before he passes on.
