Now does anyone know what it is? I can't think of a bird with a white tail other than an eagle and that isn't an eagle.

I think it’s probably a Northern Mockingbird. The underside of their tail is white.

I agree, it's also square at the bottom and that fits. There's several families of mocking birds where I walk my dog so I see them often.

Genuine question not saying you're wrong, but do mocking birds hand out in the forest? I only remember ever seeing them in residential areas.

They also like forest edge areas. There appears to be a pretty open area in the picture. We have tons of them were I live and we back up to the woods and I see them a lot flying towards the tree line. But you correct, they also love residential areas!

I had one outside my dorm room in college. It learned the back up beep of the construction equipment at the football stadium. It would sit outside my window almost every day and just keep making that annoying beep
