**Do not eat/ingest a plant based on information provided in this subreddit.**
For your safety we recommend not eating or ingesting any plant material just because you've been advised that it's edible here. Although there are many professionals helping with identification, we are not always correct, and eating/ingesting plants can be harmful or fatal if an incorrect ID is made.

Orchids have their stamens and pistils fused into a single structure called the [column](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Column_(botany\)). They also tend to have a prominent and modified petal on one side of the flower (typically the bottom), called the [labellum](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labellum_(botany\)) or lip. So based on the presence of multiple stamens and the symmetric shape of these flowers, you can tell that they are not orchids.
No no this is perfect! You used the characteristics you knew to ID the plant, got a correction with the specifics of why it didn’t match, and learned a bit more about orchids and daffodils (I did too!)
This is mission accomplished right here
I recently found out you can do picture searches on google to identify plants. I’ve been searching all kinds of stuff and it’s crazy how accurate it is. This one shows up as white hoop petticoat daffodil.
Have a look at Narcissus, subgenera Narcissus, section Bulbodicum [List of Narcissus species Wikipedia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Narcissus_species)
And [List of Narcissus horticultural divisions Wikipedia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Narcissus_horticultural_divisions), division 10, Bulbodicum cultivars.

Arctic bell daffodil, also known as hoop skirt daffodil
Aha! Thanks! Solved! Getting an error when I try to change the flair - presumable a mod does that?
That's a daffodil, not an orchid. [Here's as close as I can identify](https://www.google.com/search?q=Narcissus+bulbocodium+white&tbm=isch).

Thanks for this. Serves me right for relying on Seek. :)

Unusual daffodil!
Another unusual Daffodil would be the Autumn-flowering green-flowered Daffodil species, *Narcissus viridiflorus*.
They would be nice in a woodland garden.

Kinda looks like a mutated daffodil

Narcissus. The presence of anthers in the photo quickly rules out orchid family.
Looks more like Poppy family
Mariposa lilly
