**Do not eat/ingest a plant based on information provided in this subreddit.**
For your safety we recommend not eating or ingesting any plant material just because you've been advised that it's edible here. Although there are many professionals helping with identification, we are not always correct, and eating/ingesting plants can be harmful or fatal if an incorrect ID is made.

1 is Erigeron - Fleabane. I love them personally and leave them. 2 is Rumex crispus - Curly Dock which is invasive, they have crazy deep taproots so good luck. 3 looks like it could be an Atriplex - Saltbush but I'm not certain from this pic.
Same. By the time you have actively flowering fleabane it’s too much work to get rid of it, might as well lean into it.
I let it grow anyplace I can’t easily mow and I appreciate the small white flowers throughout the summer.
It’s invasive, but also edible, so 🤷🏻♀️ I eat the leaves (kind of like lemony spinach when you sauté them) and the seeds (lovely nutty flavor, they can me fried/ baked/ sautéed)
Many white flowers especially can have anthocyanin accumulation in the petals, turning them a pink-ish colour! Most commonly it’s just because of environmental factors, such as for example light stress in the early blooming stages 🌞
I am currently renaturing parts of my property to learn about the native plants that grow here. I would strongly recommend asking permission first. My dad did me a 'favor' a couple of year back by pulling some 'weeds'. It was catnip. I was letting it grow on purpose.
You may want to show these pictures to your neighbor & let her decide. Also, is she able to simply sit in a comfortable chair outside while you weed? That why you can ask & she can say yes or no.
...& if it's a bad thing, the flowers seeds will have it rapidly reseeding itself. Please don't let it bloom( looks soon!) til you hear from the lady if she wants to keep it!
If it gets purple bell looking flowers kinda looks like a less attractive cultivated campanula dig it up. Make sure you dig like six to eight inches if it's the weed I'm thinking there will be a lil white carrot looking rhizomes the roots attach to further beneath the soil. It's a pain tbh.
Do you have a relationship with her where you could knock on her door to show her the pictures and ask? Just putting myself in her shoes, if I were unable to get out into my gardens I'd appreciate someone coming in to show me pictures of my flowers (and of course I'd gleefully sign off on the extermination of invasives too).
With the neighbor's permission, sure. I love the Fleabane, so I'd leave it alone. The balance can be easily lifted with the aid of a long-handled round-point shovel. We chop it all up and use it as mulch, returning the nutrients to the soil.
Once I started leaving various patches of weeds in my garden I discovered how many insects and birds use them for food. Biodiversity has exploded in my garden as a result, especially wild bees and various hoverflies.
I strongly disagree. The only thing worse than pulling a few weeds/wildflowers would be to let it get overgrown with invasives. The woman is likely to be very frail and letting her garden get out of control when you could prevent it would be disheartening for her. Fleabane apparently isn’t a big deal but do her a favor and get rid of the bad stuff.
The tiny ones that look like asters/daisies are fleabane. They’re usually the first wildflowers to bloom in April and if you cut them, they get a second flush. They are aggressive and spread seeds around like a dandelion. You can pull them out but dispose of them away from both your properties.
I can't help with identification but that second one looks like it might spawn Satan himself. If it turns out invasive then you need to remove it before it goes to seed.
Not till it blooms. Whatever that is - has it bloomed or are those still in bud form? You’re right tho. Veronica would prob still be showing color in that stage

I love my fleabane too, good call!

It’s also an important butterfly host plant and a great source of pollen and nectar!
Also, fleabane is native to North America, so not invasive.
3rd looks like creeping bellflower, which is a very problematic weed once it gets established.
Yeah 3rd is creeping bellflower, I wouldn't let this one go to seed
I knew #2 looked sinister. Thanks for your help!

You’re a good person and neighbor. I just wanted to tell you this. 🙂
Thank you! That’s nice of you to say. I’m trying.
Can fleabane be pink? I have it growing in my garden
Yes!
I've seen pink and white on the same plant!
Many white flowers especially can have anthocyanin accumulation in the petals, turning them a pink-ish colour! Most commonly it’s just because of environmental factors, such as for example light stress in the early blooming stages 🌞
Thanks!
Yes, they can be pink white or purple, and are related to asters and daisies.

The first one is Erigeron philadelphicus (Philadelphia fleabane)
That made me think of an Elton John song, lol. Now it is stuck in my head.
It fits! Philadelphia fleabane 🎶I looove you 🎶
Yes I do!
Hahahahaha
I *always* read it to the tune of "Philadelphia Freedom"
me too
Thank you!

The third creeping bell flower? Look kinda similar but hard to tell. Have a white rhizome deeper in the soil...kind of a pain to deal with.
Thanks, I was considering waiting until it flowered to be sure.

thats very kind of you to help your neighbor. 😊
Ask Permission first, like offering help. First one is Invasive in Europe, Second one I think too.
Daisy fleabane
Thanks!
I have lovely memories of the fleabane as a kid. Picking the little flowers (sometimes pink) for my mom.
That’s really nice. Makes me want to leave it alone!

I'd ask. Some people like wild flowers.
Once I started leaving various patches of weeds in my garden I discovered how many insects and birds use them for food. Biodiversity has exploded in my garden as a result, especially wild bees and various hoverflies.
I love Fleabane!
Fleabane have quickly become one of my favorite flowers. They last a long time.
I love my fleabane. I give it a chelsea chop to get a double how of blooms.
No, leave your neighbor's yard alone
I strongly disagree. The only thing worse than pulling a few weeds/wildflowers would be to let it get overgrown with invasives. Sorry! I didn't see the rest of the story. Please help your neighbor.

Fleabane is native and feeds pollinators so I would leave a few but if they start to get too tall or spread to much, they pull up very easily
That’s good to know. There are only a couple of them in the bed, so I may leave them for the pollinators.
Fleabane is a native perennial why remove it from a bed of native perennials
I can't help with identification but that second one looks like it might spawn Satan himself. If it turns out invasive then you need to remove it before it goes to seed.
That’s what I’m saying! I plan on tackling it tomorrow.
Try to confirm ID first, if it's native it may be worth harvesting the seeds, even if you wish to destroy its current location.
Could the second one be a Veronica?
Isn't that usually colorful?
Not till it blooms. Whatever that is - has it bloomed or are those still in bud form? You’re right tho. Veronica would prob still be showing color in that stage
The ones on my porch are all quite purple right now.
Why don’t you just ask her? It’s as easy as showing these pictures to her and asking her…
