Floaty is best protection for WW. It provides more impact protection than a dive case, and if you have in a dive case and the mount breaks it sinks. Tethers can get caught so be sure the line can break under high strength. I once used a fishing metal leader as a tether and it caught on a tree branch and yanked my head really violently. I personally now go bare unless it's a place I know where there is a high chance it could get knocked hard enough to break the mount.
Good points. Probably a solid amount of time If be using at the whitewater center in NC. All concrete/rocks. Not much soft area there but also nothing to get snagged on
No case, the front lens can be changed on most model, I just keep one spare, then classic glass protector on front and back screen.
Gopro plus will take care of the rest
You don't need the housing. The only case for the housing would be if your on a really clear river and you want your underwater footage to also look really good.
I don’t have the housing but I have the floaty. I’ve seen 2 sink both had some awesome footy that we will never seen
Good point. I would either use the floaty or buy a tether so it can’t fall totally off the helmet in that event
Tether it to something as the best footage in the world will suck if you can’t find the camera
For sure! Although a busted screen will also be a big bummer
no housing and tether accepting if I get chundered it’s gone
Davy jones locker bout to get some good footage tho

Aside from just being able to replace the screen/lens, why do you prefer not to use a case?
