Indeed. My theory is that Man is the form Batgos takes whenever he decides to take the form of a normal man, to explore the infinite monster-group reality as your average dude. Not saying Batgos cannot already do that, he is batscient and batpresent after all, it's when he chooses to explore a new perspective. Batgos is just so strong that when choosing to make the avatar, he caused it to become the ultimate man, a perfected image of what the word 'man' is, the very hyper-concept of the word. That. Is.
