When and where?

agreeingstorm9

And this is why I get annoyed at ads like this. They don't tell you when, where or how much admission might be.

$10 tickets. You have to click the event link and select the tickets link

Event page says Saturday, May 18 at the baseball stadium https://facebook.com/events/s/wichita-asian-night-market/309367921885957/

I went last year and there was not *nearly* enough room for everyone. You have to pay to go in, wait an hour to get food from the slammed food stalls, and you usually can't get close enough to the vendors to see what they're selling. I'm not going to go again until they get all those issues ironed out.

I went to one of the Asian celebrations back when it was at Century II. It was impossible to move around. It was impossible to determine lines. It was impossible to find anyone. My wife and I split up once to stand in two different lines and were apart for like, 35 minutes. Doesn't make sense to try and go to one of these and not enjoy the time with the people you are going with...

It looks like they’ve changed the vendor map a bit - half their vendors are in the parking lot. Last year everything seemed to be in the concourse? https://preview.redd.it/af6d3vdkm0zc1.jpeg?width=2124&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=958990240afb2372031d5c4a137360386797f163

Fingers crossed it's better this year then so I can go next year.

Having vendors in the parking lot is a great idea. I went last year and boy, the stall placement seemed less than ideal for me.

It's just an entry fee. Kind of defeats the spirit of a night market.

Steven0707

$10 if you entering after 6pm and $20 if you entering at $20. Honestly I think it is super greedy when the organizers charge both side (vendors & customer). As a customer if Im paying $20 for a food event I don’t expect to pay anymore in the event.

Successful-Pirate-68

What food events do you normally go to for $20 where you don’t have to pay in the event?

Muffinskill

I think they’re implying the opposite. No fee and pay inside

Successful-Pirate-68

Makes sense. Expect the event organizers to pay for the venue costs and expenses out of their pocket.

UnknownQwerky

But then don't the food stalls pay them to be a vendor there?

I went last year and enjoyed the stadium, performances and vendor options. It was exciting to see an Asian event with this degree of professionalism and at such a large scale. We go there as early as we could and waited in the GA line. The first 15-30 minutes being there early allowed us too see all the vendors and grab some of what we wanted. After that, when the rest of GA came in, it got PACKED. The food lines of each stall, and then the people just walking by, merged into these giant crowds that became a pain to walk through. I saw they're featuring some vendors in the parking lot this year. That's honestly a great idea and I hope it helps with congestion. The food and environment is awesome beyond all that.

JakeFromSkateFarm

Is it all prepared foods, or are there any vendors selling things like sauces, hard to find ingredients, or such? And with the prepared foods, are they the typical things in restaurants or anything more rare? Just curious if there’s unique things to try or get that you can’t just get by going to their normal locations when they’re not swamped.

Successful-Pirate-68

That would be cool if they do sell. Not entirely sure myself
