Botanica or the Great Plains Nature Center.

LiveInteraction9615

Still in the middle of city, can hear airplanes and traffic. OP, I'd suggest maybe traveling a bit from the City, maybe find an old road that leads to a pond or something.

AdLimp2657

You called me op 🥹

SHOWTIME316

good suggestions (and a couple of my favorite places) but both are very close to a lot of noisy things i would recommend [Northeast Sedgwick County Park](https://www.sedgwickcounty.org/parks/northeast-sedgwick-county-park/) for the least noise pollution. the only time i've ever been disturbed by noise is when one of the few neighbors were shooting guns on their property. but i've been there like 20 times and it only happened once lol

AdLimp2657

I probably won’t go there but if I do, I will just lay down

AdLimp2657

I never heard of the Great Plains Nature center, but I will check them out, thank you

Oak Park, Pawnee Prairie Park, Sedgwick County Park. There are great hiking trails around and near El Dorado Lake.

No-Vermicelli3787

Pawnee Prairie is close to the airport however

AwesomelyxAwesome

Yes yet it is still a nice, quiet, peaceful place to explore the outdoors.

No-Vermicelli3787

My 4yo loves it but a plane did worry her until she saw it was landing

AdLimp2657

I work around that an airport so I can go after work thank you

Andy89316

Pawnee Prairie Park is really nice. Yes, by the airport and some areas by road, but its huge; I found it quiet and awesome. Did get bit by a tick though! The hiking trails are real narrow, wear pants

Adventurous_Ad3534

Treat clothes with permethrine.

Haikuunamatata

The zoo is quite the place....

AdLimp2657

Yea but I still have to pay

Scurrin

Great plains nature center?

Burial_Ground

Yeah it's up on north woodlawn. Got sidewalks and ponds. By home depot if you need a shovel or something lol

kwajagimp

El Dorado is nice. If you're willing to drive a bit further, there's half-a-dozen state "fishing lakes" that are usually very quiet.

AdLimp2657

Oo okay maybe this is my chance to go magnet fishing

[deleted]

My house with weed and rolling papers.

tenderourghosts

Not in Wichita, but Central Park in Andover is quite nice. I do miss when it was a bit more woodsy, but I still enjoy taking a long walk around there.

immoyo

Try Lake Afton if you don't mind a 20-30 minute drive on Kellogg. I like Pawnee Prairie Park or Swanson Park on the west side of town too.

ksdanj

Pawnee Prairie Park west of the airport. Swanson Park is another nice spot north of Central on Maize Rd.

drdodger

Chisholm Creek nature center has some nice trails. Might even see a deer.

FaceRidden

Quite

Shama_Heartless

Find a cemetery.

AdLimp2657

Maybe have you gone in the night?
