If you relevel it on another character the solves loot table is completely reset. I leveled it on my main got the 85 trinket etc and now leveling on my alchemist for the vial and I’m getting all the same toys and having to vendor them.

There is no guarantted rare in first 10 solves. I have no idea how this beyond cope myth spread so fast

AcanthaceaeAware7287

It’s not a guarantee like many have acted like it is but there is a lot of merit to the fact that you get a rare extremely fast on a very consistent bases with first 10 solves. As someone who I guess loves to hate themselves I have leveled now twice completely and I’m the second time did hold solves to test it and it came out rather consistent to a rare in first 10. 2 of which were the epic low level armor pieces. Have also gotten 85 int trinket.

bakedbread420

the reality is that some of the low skill required rares have a SUPER high drop rate, so you tend to see them very quickly after you hit their required skill. that's almost entirely what's behind the "guaranteed rare in 10 solves" myth

Admirable-Tooth866

This "cope" was correct for me with 5 races (other 3 I dont remember so I wont claim that) ...

Professional_Milk_16

I’m glad someone debunked it lol. I’ve been seeing it spread around as a legitimate method of getting the sword and staff. Did you actually test it out yourself then?

_Ronin

Most of my guild is digging through Azeroth since prepatch dropped and nothing indicates that this rule exists. Of course it's not giant sample size but it's better than "my source is that I made it the fuck up". Similarly someone tossed randomly in a YT video that sword has 7% chance to appear as a project which is also unreasonably optimistic with results that we are seeing so far.

Professional_Milk_16

So both claim and counter-claim are pure speculation

Sander1993a

Do you have an actual source of this guarentee rare in 10 solves? I've heard it quite a bit now but can't find an actual source of this.

N3ss3

It was a thing in Mop. There's some old wowhead articles about it.

DevLink89

I don’t understand why people are now so into it. My guild is constantly talking about it, dig dig dig. When cata released Archeology was considered boring af and tbh even though they fixed it in retail it still is. Can anyone enlighten me what changed, or is it just people fully embracing cata. Not saying cata is bad by any means btw.

ohshitimincollege

It's two things imo. Archaeology is a new thing to do when we otherwise wouldn't be doing anything but raid logging and mog/achievement hunting. And, most importantly, it's for the advantage that a 359 weapon brings you for the first couple of raids of this first tier. For the folks that want to eek out every advantage possible, and the people who just follow what everyone else is doing, those epic weapons and the int trinket are extremely attractive. Plus, they're bind on account, so you can use them on any character you want.

Stahlreck

'Cause there's nothing else to do in the prepatch as the terrible Cata devs completely skipped the pre-patch event. When Cata releases this profession will be even more hated than OG because tons of people still will not have their epic while others get quite a head start into 85 and nobody will have time anymore to dig (as there's tons of other more important stuff to grind at first at 85)
