Here at Blizzard we have heard your concerns and have replaced the chaos bolt ability for destruction warlocks with shadowbolt to better represent the class identity.
Between getting overfiends to spawn like crazy the oc can also machine gun chaos bolts in hellcaller spec. I didnt even need to cast incerate once it got rolling
I remember since MoP time that Warlock would be broken in PTR/beta every single time. The one I recall is Warlock's Grimoire giving insane damage buff in MoP beta.

And then they got curb stomped to the point Blizz was trying to fix them every major patch up to 10.2. this will happen to you and I'll enjoy watching it

They also where in almost perma Incarnation with insane pulsar uptime so pulsar was nerfed to require 600 ap and now in WW it got removed lol.
