Scott hyped me up for the whole build, this was my first ever “new” bike. I’ve always had older frames with some modern components maybe. But really built up my forever bike.
Okay, that seals it for me. I was looking for a shop in Chicago to help with a full rebuild of two 1990s Barracuda frames (an A2M and an A2E). Comrade it is!
Nice to hear the Scapebot described as a monster cross bike. I thought it wasn’t for me as it was described a tourer and realistically, I don’t tour. Now under consideration to ride a Scapebot. Nice bike!!!
So first two rides in the book now, definitely a new style of riding I’m getting used to. And I really would agree that it’s a tour focused build. but this thing was comfortable on any surface type I rode on (even some sand, mud) . And once those tires get rolling it’s so much fun to roll that monster truck down a big hill.
What a amazing bike! I passed by going south, you were going north and I had to turn my head back to see the bike again. I tried to do the same, but a lot of parts were washed out yes, the stretch of gravel by Linne Woods was fun and the Blue Star too.
Sometimes when you do a colour scheme just a little too hard it becomes difficult to distinguish the masterpiece from a department store bike.
I love purple/pink hues but I think there is a point where it all becomes too much.
Sometimes when you judge another's preferred aesthetics just a little too hard hard it becomes difficult to appreciate another member of your community from a department store bike rider.
I love judgement/personal opinion but I think there is a point where it all becomes about the looks rather than the actual components of a nice build.
Where I am, mall bikes and any bikes below US$150 tend to have *more decals* than necessary, as if those decals add more speed than the actual quality of the components they use.
Too much! Love the frame and fork. Even the rims too. But gotta draw the with the pink zipper on the frame bag. BUT… new bikes are the best so enjoy this ride all summer.
Don’t worry about explaining purchases. We all have different tastes in what our bikes look like. We do share the love of bikes. Almost makes me want to get a new bike to have the new bike feeling.
North Branch Trail has a good mix of trail and gravel. The lakefront trail south from the loop is a lot of fun and not nearly as busy. And des plaines river trail is a great day long ride for some nice crunchy stuff.
Love it but damn I would never take it out in Chicago. It would last maybe a week. I wish there were nicer places to bike in Chicago when I lived there.
If you live in the burbs, I don't think it'll be too bad, where do you bike by the way? I could never find good trails to hit aside from the MTB ones in the southwest burbs.
Mostly just commuted on a fixie tbh
I bike the north branch and lake shore trail but mostly south of 18th. The ride up to Evanston isn’t too bad either with the Green Bay trail. I currently live in Avondale. There is a dirt pump track and some dirt jumps off like Belmont by the river? Been there a couple times.
just came to say your bike is fucking rad and i saw this on comrades insta yesterday.
don’t listen to the haters dude. i hope to run into you and this bike on the DPR someday
The color is rad. Don't listen to these haters and cowards.
I anticipated the hate, but calling it a department store bike! Hahaha brutal.
Dat URPLE!!!1
Damn straight! That purple and hot pink is dope. Nice job with the matching bidons too!
Great theft prevention too.
I think it’s over the top AND fuckin’ rad! Nice work!
Highly recommend a die cut prince logo sticker on that rig
Damn this is a great idea! Thank you!!
I was in comrade when Scott was putting this together! Was so stoked to see this up in the stand

Hell yeah dude. Can’t wait to see it on the streets!
Scott is the man. Just built the front wheel on my Clydesdale.
Okay, that seals it for me. I was looking for a shop in Chicago to help with a full rebuild of two 1990s Barracuda frames (an A2M and an A2E). Comrade it is!
Hey I know where you got this bike! Way to do you, neighbor!
Big shout out to comrade cycles in Chicago for making my purple monster bike dreams come true. 🔮🍇🧬
Ayyy Comrade
Be safe, be seen!
Wow, I didn’t know Crust did a collab with Lisa Frank! (Kidding—your bike is drip.)
Yo I never even thought of that! New excuse to build the wife a bike 😂
Nice bike but it kinda hurts my eyes
😵💫😵😵💫
Ultraviolet! Wear your sunscreen around that. I love your commitment to the color purple 🍆💜🔮🎆☔️🦄 Sick bike.

this build is so obnoxious. you'll never lose it in a crowd. well done!
I think I saw you yesterday at the forest preserve. Right?
That was me! We tried the gravel sections, some of it there by the horse barns was pretty washed out. But a beautiful day. Hitting the lake today!

Omg its a unicorn
No, this is a unicorn, and they are fucking magical. https://www.unicorncycles.com
Ur just jealous at OP 😒 ( they are indeed pretty sick )
Oh dear!

Welp I like it!
Sometimes you have to go to the extreme to then pull back a bit to find the sweet spot. The bones of this bike are rad.
I think it’s all rad! 🫡
Me too! 🤙

I bought the frame bag while I was waiting for the bike, it’s just a pink and purple bag standard zipper. It was on sale 🤷♂️

OP has not reached that point!
This is SUCH a dope build, love the color splash. This thing oozes personality, which one’s bike should! Congrats on the acquisition!
That is a radical color scheme, we'll done!
Gorgeous bike. And I'm actually moving to Chicago tomorrow. Maybe I'll get to see this beaut on the trails! Happy rides!
Welcome to town! May the wind always be at your back!
Ha amen thank you
Who dis
This is beautiful 🥲
Wow pink presta valves for the tire tubes!
Dayyyum that’s a funky ass rig. Looks like a beast!
This is so awesome! Sick bike!
Sickk
Bro went so hard with the color coordination, respect
Sick ride! Why mechanical disc brakes instead of hydraulic, tho?
Looks awesome.
this is maddddddddddd beautiful. happy riding!!!!!!
Holy moly that bike is AWESOME!
that pops like fire. love it
Purple wheels! 💜Purple pedals! 💜
The pedals are my favorite little touch. I’ve loved every crank brothers pedal I’ve ever bought and couldn’t help but want to clip in.
That’s wild! I dig it.
Based nx eagle enjoyer
It isn't something that i would build for myself but I love that you built it.
Purple. Cool.
That's hot!

Fantastic!
Purple haze, all in my brain
I like the little robots a lot
So beautiful
no offence, ride what you like, but... ... .... ..... ..... gross, ... ride fast get that paint off.
Love it but damn I would never take it out in Chicago. It would last maybe a week. I wish there were nicer places to bike in Chicago when I lived there.
Im not planning on locking it out of eye sight, most of the time I’ll be attached to it. I’ll let you know if I make it the week. 🙃

Awesome build! Wish we had more builds like this in NYC
Little kids bike on steroids.
