Lady is very pretty but cannot act, she’s flat as cardboard 🥲 she also just has zero chemistry with anyone she’s cast with.
Liz Gillies would be so great!!
I’m gonna get torn up for this in this day and age - but Rogue should be particularly hot. Not for any reason other than it adds to her character that she can’t be touched, men throw themselves at her not knowing it will kill them, and she can slap them all silly with a pinky.
Yea but she can't do a southern accent. She spent 4 or 5 years playing Fallon who was born in raised in Atlanta and never once gave her a Georgia accent.
Victoria would do a WAY better Jean. She isn’t gritty enough. Lizzie could 100% do her. I’ve been watching Dynasty for the first time and I believe she could do anything. She is Mother
Hear me out guys but if any of the X-men are race bent (non traditional casting) and we want it to make sense and not clash too much with character history or attitude or anything. Make Rouge Black. It could work very easily with her character.
As someone from Mississippi, I have met significantly more black women who I could see as Rogue than white women. The accent, and the “Mississippiness” of her character feels more closely aligned to black culture in Mississippi in 2023. Maybe not 50 years ago, but in my lifetime for sure.
This is especially relevant since she’s supposed to be from the Delta or from Meridian like in the Fox movies. Unless there’s a specific reason for her to be white, it kind of makes more sense for her to be black if they’re trying to represent either of those areas. Even just based on demographics.
^ that’s what I’m saying. It’s an easy way to plug i. Some more color without causing any more uproar than it normally would. And plus anyone who actually knows xmen and isn’t a racist I believe would agree.
To me, having a white Rogue that strongly identifies with being from the Delta or Meridian (65% black) is like having a non-Hispanic character that strongly identifies with San Antonio (65% Hispanic). There are definitely plenty of non-Hispanic people from San Antonio, but it’s just kind of weird to make it a big part of the character in that case. Why San Antonio specifically (the most Hispanic city in the US) if they aren’t Hispanic?
This obv doesn’t hold for characters that don’t really strongly identify with their hometown, which is most characters. Rogue definitely does though. Again, not like it’s racist to acknowledge that there are white people in those areas, and it’s fine if she’s white. It’s just a good opportunity, like you said, to make her black in a way that really does make sense and does open up the character a bit and create cool writing opportunities.
I remember the large calling for Kiki Palmer as rogue a while back, and I love that idea. I think making her southern is a hell of a lot more important then her being white
Why there isnt a need to race bend any of the X-men there are X-men of every color just put one of them in the movie instead. Cant we just let iconic characters look like themselves
Rogue is iconic due to her personality, not her skin colour. Her hair streak is iconic to her look, not her skin colour. She is a character who’s race is not integral to her history or story. She also was originally race bent when being created as she was modelled after Grace Jones and (if I remember correctly) intended to be black. If a character’s race is not integral to their story then it really doesn’t matter what race the actor is that plays them.
I’m sure I read somewhere, that there wasn’t black characters in earlier comics due to being unable to print a reasonable skin colour.
So if she was designed around a black lady, this could be the reason she’s white.
Rogue is identified by 3 things.
1) the white stripe at the front of her hair
2) strong southern accent
3) green costume
this is my time to bring up my [indya moore as rogue](https://imgur.com/a/4PBJ5Ey) fancast! she looks so much like jim lee’s rogue imo! it popped out to me so strongly when she wore the green look with the green eyeshadow in that episode of pose
Hot take: the X-Men are kinda hypocritical with taking the civil rights struggles of minorites and women and transplanting them on primarily White male X-Men
Just because people didn't see one show doesn't mean they don't consume other media. You should really try and broaden your media consumption, lots of good stuff outside of The Haunting of Hill House by Mike Flanagan.
Lol it's a forgettable netflix horror, settle down
Maybe you need to broaden your media consumption outside of the "disappointing netflix movie'" genre
I need my southern bell Rogue if we're even going to attempt a X-MEN reboot. That and she better be the " fucked up captain Marvel on accident" version to. Oh and a solid Gambit romance to, they've been kept apart long enough (cinematically)
I would love to either see Brianne Howey or Keke Palmer as Rogue. I reckon both ladies can pull off the southern accent and sassy personality. Especially Brianne.
I think Chloe Grace Moretz would be great she is from the south so she’ll get the accent right… which as a southerner I admit we are a little over critical on.
Rogue's skin color isn't really important in any way to the character. As long as she's got the accent, the sass and the grit, it's Rogue. Everything else is secondary.
I think they will, and should, do a few swaps like this in the X-Men films. For a franchise about minority oppression, there's been some pretty egregious whitewashing in the past and casting minority actors will inherently give any adaptation a greater thematic impact.
Ikr. That's the biggest goddamn issue with X-Men. Heck, FaWS and WF and Ms. Marvel do a way better job with minority representation despite the X-Men being the most diverse subgroup in Marvel
I don't need Cyclops or Wolverine (much as I love him) to Whitesplain racism to me lol
Yeah I mean I think that's why the metaphor shifted over the years to be more reflective of LGBT and a broader range of minority politics. It just never fully worked as a race metaphor.
Doesn't work as any metaphor. Just use the actual minorities instead. Cyclops and Angel aren't actually increasing representation for minorities and women just by going 'they hate my powers' and such
Keke at least has the natural similar personality. I’ve never seen any of these people in any capacity able to play Rogue naturally in any of their roles.
I like Keke Palmer for Rogue. She is dynamic and bombastic like 90s Rouge. Anna Paquin had the look down, but no energy. Rogue needs to be high energy.
Anna’s problem wasn’t energy it was screen time and lines past the first movie. I don’t think she ever even had a fight scene beyond touching someone’s ankle.
Yeah, fans deciding they have a good idea and then trying to enforce it is how we got the Snyderfans situation, when the fans start acting like they have some say in the show or movies process and getting butthurt when the project doesn't bow to their demands is a pathetic cycle
No I wouldn’t. I was just sharing a Fan-cast Idea. I have faith, who Kevin Feige Cast for the x-men in the MCU regardless of who the actor or actress is.
@ZOZE13, You're 💯 percent correct my friend. Rogue is suppose to be attractive in every way imaginable. Curvy country thick, and athletic. Very cute face with long curly thick hair. Hopefully the MCU doesn't choose someone who's physically frail , and looks nothing like her.
I'd like to suggest- Hallea Jones. I watched her in Locke and Key and she was a scene stealer. She had a fiery charismatic personality that reminded me of comic book Rogue very much. Facial wise she even looks like Rogue from the 80s and 90s. She'd just need the hair.
*Incoming "Keke Palmer should play Rogue" comments*
Seriously, I really don't get why people are pushing for her to play Rogue. Would rather see a comic accurate version in the MCU.
I believe the MCU is clearly going to establish and develop their own depiction and narrative of the X-men as well as casting younger actors for a franchise who can grow into the role. I love the original x-men from fox but they can’t play their roles forever. Also it’s rumored that the fox’s original x-men will have a finale departure and farewell in Avengers Secret Wars.
So you think it’s appropriate to label the OP and this subreddit racist because someone made a fan cast of a white actress for a character who is a white woman in the comics?
If there is no other option than the one you suggested I agree this sub has become racist if they can't imagine someone other than a coloured person playing the role, the role should go to the person most suited to it not the one the internet wants the most
The only one I like in this situation is the bottom left. Of these three and just as X-men casting goes. But I see her more as a more conniving character. Either in character or just looking that way. I see her as a Madalyn Pryor or an Emma Frost.
At the risk of straying off topic, keep in mind that Madelyne Pryor will necessarily be played by the same actress who plays Jean Grey, so it will have to be someone with some range.
Victoria Pedretti in X Men and bringing back Booboo Stewart + The New Mutants cast just might be a potential power movie Marvel Studios/Disney, if they really knew how to cater to audiences’ unspoken desires.
I would love Liz Gillespie...if she could do a southern accent. But considering she spent 4 or 5 years playing a woman from Atlanta and never once gave her a Georgia accent I'm not sure she can pull it off. I dont know the others enough to comment on.
All look good and would do a good job i think would say if the want to or can maybe hit the gym and put a little muscle on them Rogue isnt built but she isnt skinny either
Lily Collins… really?
She'd make a good Betsy Braddock maybe/Captain Britain?
Betsy’s gotta be Daisy Ridley.
good suggestion!
That's a really good choice, but I don't know if Daisy would want to be subjected to another somewhat toxic Disney fandom again
Only if it’s a package deal that includes her dad giving us the best marvel soundtrack of all time
Lady is very pretty but cannot act, she’s flat as cardboard 🥲 she also just has zero chemistry with anyone she’s cast with. Liz Gillies would be so great!!
I would need to hear her southern accent first
My ultimate fan cast is Dolly Parton time traveling from 1973.
YES!
For me it’s Fairuza Balk.
I do enjoy her in “the Craft” myself. Excellent soundtrack movie
Reba as a bebe
Just looked her up from 1973 and you have the correct answer.
Looked it up also, that and the voice, spot on.
Wow.
Absolutely
It would be really confusing to have 3 people play the same character. Maybe if she was a shapeshifter but it seems excessive.
right? just pick the one on the bottom right. she looks pretty authentic.
I’m gonna get torn up for this in this day and age - but Rogue should be particularly hot. Not for any reason other than it adds to her character that she can’t be touched, men throw themselves at her not knowing it will kill them, and she can slap them all silly with a pinky.
All of these women are pretty damn attractive in my book.
hotness is subjective, i'd rather see good acting
Liz Gillies is the closest thing to being Rogue
Yea but she can't do a southern accent. She spent 4 or 5 years playing Fallon who was born in raised in Atlanta and never once gave her a Georgia accent.
Rich people only have rich people accents (referring to the character). No one on that show has that accent, iirc
Someone hasn’t watched Victorious
I have
I was watching Dinasty only for her and Adam,Liam.
Bottom right should do great in think
holland roden> but outta these def Liz
Is that the girl from Emily in Paris?
Yes
Out of these three, none of them. I don’t see any of them pulling off the accent or the attitude.
Victoria for sure !
I want her as Kitty Pryde!
But, kitty is a teeneager...
Yeah, I'd assume we'd get a 13 yo Kitty at first
not unless they go with freshmen year kitty in ESU or in Chicago as a start, then being in midtown high like in the ultimate comics.
Not…really…
Of these three, Liz Gillies
I want Victoria to play Jean Grey. She would be fab.
Victoria would do a WAY better Jean. She isn’t gritty enough. Lizzie could 100% do her. I’ve been watching Dynasty for the first time and I believe she could do anything. She is Mother
How about someone who doesn’t weigh 98lbs?
Hear me out guys but if any of the X-men are race bent (non traditional casting) and we want it to make sense and not clash too much with character history or attitude or anything. Make Rouge Black. It could work very easily with her character.

Keke Palmers would do good
I would love to see keke “keep a job” palmers in the MCU
So true, I know the topic's been discussed to death but I genuinely think Keke would be amazing as Rogue
Just saw “Nope” recently and that really convinced me that Keke would be an AMAZING Rogue
Even more so after her cosplay
There's also the fact her initial design was based off of Grace Jones, a black woman.
That’s super cool I wasn’t aware
I remember the large calling for Kiki Palmer as rogue a while back, and I love that idea. I think making her southern is a hell of a lot more important then her being white
Why there isnt a need to race bend any of the X-men there are X-men of every color just put one of them in the movie instead. Cant we just let iconic characters look like themselves
Keke Palmer looks way more like Rogue than the three in the post do, though, so I don’t see your point.
Looking her up no she don't, closest one is the first one up top if she bulked up just a little
Rogue is iconic due to her personality, not her skin colour. Her hair streak is iconic to her look, not her skin colour. She is a character who’s race is not integral to her history or story. X-men stole their storyline from PoC though
i want rouge to be race bent so keke palmer could be cast
this is my time to bring up my [indya moore as rogue](https://imgur.com/a/4PBJ5Ey) fancast! she looks so much like jim lee’s rogue imo! it popped out to me so strongly when she wore the green look with the green eyeshadow in that episode of pose
Hot take: the X-Men are kinda hypocritical with taking the civil rights struggles of minorites and women and transplanting them on primarily White male X-Men
Except that's not what happened.
Yes they did. the whole metaphor is a form of appropriation
For the love of God, yes.
Liz Gillies would make the most sense to me. Attitude and similar body type. The top two make no sense what so ever.
Liz Gillies would be a great Rogue
elizabeth gillies is the spitting image of that picture
Liz of these handa down. I love her, love her voice and her acting, but she still wouldn't be my top pick overall.
Pedretti would be so good Edit: but she might be even better as Jean
I feel like Pedretti would make movie Jean actually likable and interesting which is something we have not seen yet
Kitty Pryde
As nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs
I do not see it at all. Rogue needs more.
Who are these people?
[удалено]
Just because people didn't see one show doesn't mean they don't consume other media. You should really try and broaden your media consumption, lots of good stuff outside of The Haunting of Hill House by Mike Flanagan.
Are all 3 of these people in that show?
[удалено]
Objectively? By which metric are you determining this?
Lol it's a forgettable netflix horror, settle down Maybe you need to broaden your media consumption outside of the "disappointing netflix movie'" genre
Horror as a genre lost me years ago. If you enjoy it, good for you.
Bottom left looks the part. Top two look more like Jean Grey
Madelaine Petsch
Liz gillies easily
Why not Alexandra Daddario?
She’s not going to walk away from the Mayfair Witches
I'm here for that lol
the cliche choice for every fancast tbh
Keke Palmer for Rogue I will take no substitutes
I love this comment, and I do want Keke as Rogue 100%!
I would totally support that.
Or Storm
Too young. We already had teenage Storm I don't think Marvel will do it again
I'd go with Vic.
Kate Siegel for Rogue!
Kate should be Mystique if Natalie Dormer is busy.
Sophia Bush
Who's the left bottom? Bcs she looks perfect
I’ve always had Victoria as Polaris (particularly from Duggan’s first x-team) in my head.
Liz Gillies would be so badass in my opinion.
Okay, and I'm only gonna ask this once. CAN. THEY. ACT!?!?!
Yes, (Victoria Pedretti) haunting of the hill house, (Liz Gillies) Dynasty reboot, and lily collins in Emily in Paris.
Gillies would be perfect
I need my southern bell Rogue if we're even going to attempt a X-MEN reboot. That and she better be the " fucked up captain Marvel on accident" version to. Oh and a solid Gambit romance to, they've been kept apart long enough (cinematically)
Victoria is jean imo

noneofem Best rogue is a rogue with meat on her bones.
I saw Keke Palmer, and now I can't unsee it
I don’t see it with either one of these personally
Prefer Keke

Man, the racists coming for your Karma. Sorry, buddy! Totally agree with you. And it's not like there aren't a ton of black women in the south...
Didn’t think this sub would have some racist ass downvoters but here we are
You'd think not but in this day and age nothing suprrises me anymore
Keke Palmer is the correct answer
None of them. These are fucking horrible.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an x-men fan cast that I actually liked
Keke at least has the natural similar personality. I’ve never seen any of these people in any capacity able to play Rogue naturally in any of their roles.

Imagine Liz as the black queen 🙇♂️
But she’s white!!
🌚
None of the above, Rogue needs to be tough and rugged looking
Lily Collins? 😵💫. No.
I like all of these actresses but frankly Keke is the only option imo
They not Keke..
Fan casts are awful things
Lmao are u serious 🤣
Yeah, fans deciding they have a good idea and then trying to enforce it is how we got the Snyderfans situation, when the fans start acting like they have some say in the show or movies process and getting butthurt when the project doesn't bow to their demands is a pathetic cycle
No I wouldn’t. I was just sharing a Fan-cast Idea. I have faith, who Kevin Feige Cast for the x-men in the MCU regardless of who the actor or actress is.
Why not a black actress?
I liked Keke Palmer's take on it
maybe these actresses could work for shadowcat who is on the petite side but I always thought Rogue was thicker.
Keke Palmers is the way for me
@ZOZE13, You're 💯 percent correct my friend. Rogue is suppose to be attractive in every way imaginable. Curvy country thick, and athletic. Very cute face with long curly thick hair. Hopefully the MCU doesn't choose someone who's physically frail , and looks nothing like her.

Keke Palmer
I thought we all agreed Kiki Palmer was perfect.
No we certainly did not all agree. A lot of people like her but I’d say the majority don’t.
As much as I’m a fan of Gillies, and I’ve seen so much praise for Pedretti, I feel like Keke Palmer was a better fan cast for rogue than these three.
Here come the Keke Palmer comments…who’s a shit choice even if we ignore the obvious.
Agreed. She looked kinda coo in cosplay but no. And good God once she did a video and moved?! She looks awkward AF.
*Incoming "Keke Palmer should play Rogue" comments* Seriously, I really don't get why people are pushing for her to play Rogue. Would rather see a comic accurate version in the MCU.
Not one of them even remotely looks the part! Try again...
Keke Palmer
Lily Collins is Kitty Pryde, 100%.
Definitely not any of these actresses
why not bringing to the MCU the original X-Men cast? all of them are still alive, and I would love to see Famke Jensen as Jean again
I'd rather have young actors play younger (newer) X-Men than redone versions of previously adapted X-Men tbh
No! Keke Palmer!
I thought we all agreed we were gonna meme Keke Palmer into the role?
[удалено]
So you think it’s appropriate to label the OP and this subreddit racist because someone made a fan cast of a white actress for a character who is a white woman in the comics?
I’m open to x-men characters being portrayed by other races in the MCU. That would be phenomenal.
If there is no other option than the one you suggested I agree this sub has become racist if they can't imagine someone other than a coloured person playing the role, the role should go to the person most suited to it not the one the internet wants the most
Love I think she can pull it
Liz Gillies would be much better as Dazzler
Nope. Ana De Armas
All too old
Bottom left one obviously
The only one I like in this situation is the bottom left. Of these three and just as X-men casting goes. But I see her more as a more conniving character. Either in character or just looking that way. I see her as a Madalyn Pryor or an Emma Frost.

If Marvel brings you a contract to play Rogue you better get your ass to an accent coach.
Only if she says shugah all the time
Liz Gilles would be perfect 10 years ago.
Looks wise, I could see Liz. But I don't know how well she could do a southern accent. I feel like it would come off forced
I usually hate those but could see it with here.
Jade (Liz Gillies) would be the perfect Rouge
What do they sound like?
I could see VP as Rogue - LC I’d put as Kitty, but Liz Gillies has to be Emma, put her in a blonde wig and she IS Emma.
Lily is little too sweet and innocent to be Rogue. Maybe Polaris my gurl?
The one on the bottom is clearly the best one.
Nice, lili collins
Victoria Pedretti seems made to be Kitty Pryde
I dunno. I always thought Rogue as a bit thicc
Yess jade is perfect idc she’s very hot
All look good and would do a good job i think would say if the want to or can maybe hit the gym and put a little muscle on them Rogue isnt built but she isnt skinny either
Liz would have the best attitude
Def liz
Liz Gillies 100%
I don't know about her for Rogue, but I love Victoria Pedretti
I would be so gooped over Victoria pedrretri. She would be perfect.
