If you are new to the subreddit, [please read the wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/yakuzagames/wiki/index/)
Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. **THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS**.
If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged \>!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!<
If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7).
If you see any of the above (or any of the other rules) not being followed, please report it so we can keep this place safe for newcomers and those that haven't finished all the games yet. Thank you!

When my brain finally kicked in and I realized who he was I couldn’t believe it . I used to love MXC so just seeing him again was a blast from the past . Love this guy
>!Okay but no joke, I love what they did with his character, I loved seeing the emotion bleed through. Legit, one of the few times I've been hit with that sort of plot beat in this franchise and actually went 'Oh NO'!<
It is, and they all listen to him.
But he's never in uniform or addressed by any rank.
Like, his position *might* be political rather than military? It's unclear.
Fun fact, his character is named Kitano in the movie.
To be more on the nose in the sequel, Riki Takeuchi (Awano in Yakuza 0) plays a character named Riki Takeuchi and essentially serves as the same role.
It's been 7 hours since you posted this. I wonder if you've reached the absolute goofiest moment with him that makes him such a fun character. If not... Well, there's a goofy moment lol
Because he's a great actor.. You can hear it if you look for it but if no one told you diffrent you easily belive Rikiya and Yuta are voiced by diffrent people.. Love how both characters end up being a big part of kiryus life but in diffrent ways.
Beat Takeshi is truly an amazing person. Damn good actor (Sonatine and Hana-bi are my faves but he’s also so creepily great in Battle Royale), funny as hell in comedies, brilliant director, talented artist. Kitano is a renaissance man. And Hirose is one of the most memorable characters in the whole franchise. Had my jaw on the floor in his climactic scene for how much I both liked/pitied and feared him.
Scott Strichart, series localization director from 2016-2022, said in an interview that the leading candidate for his English voice was Bill Murray.
Not that they had ever contacted him or that they ever planned to dub 6 (this was even before the Fist of the North Star dub was announced) but because he had the exact right vibes.

Ah yes, the creator of Takeshi’s Challenge
That is Vic Romano, host of MXC: Most Extreme Elimination Challenge.
Right you are, Ken!
When my brain finally kicked in and I realized who he was I couldn’t believe it . I used to love MXC so just seeing him again was a blast from the past . Love this guy
Old man reminds me of Kazama a lot, being a father figure for his subordinates.

(Don't spoil OP)
Bro, spoilers.
Yeah, you'll love him even more by the end of the game, he's a great guy

So much more depth than originally anticipated.
It's Beat Takeshi doing Beat Takeshi things. He's in some of the best Yakuza movies of all time, Hana-bi, Sonatine...
Also fun that Sonatine is a major influence for Yakuza 3
I know him from Violent Cop
Outrage trilogy is soo good too.

Ah yes japanese dewey ![gif](giphy|iRwnh8KliEWm4|downsized)
Rule number one when you start any Yakuza game : >! Never trust anyone until you finish the game !<
He acts as a loving father figure towards his crew, just like Kazama

Well, considering they're still on Chapter 5...
>!Kazama 2.0!<
isn’t he the general from Battle Royale
The teacher, if you wanna get pedantic, but yeah. I don't think he's ever given a "rank" other than "Instructor".
Yeah its been a long time since I've watched the movie so I thought it was the military who was behind the operations
It is, and they all listen to him. But he's never in uniform or addressed by any rank. Like, his position *might* be political rather than military? It's unclear.

Isn't Yuta also Nanahara (the main student) in Battle Royale? Looks like he recruited them for his clan after they escaped the island.
Yeah, it's been years since I saw them (before I got into RGG) but I did see this in another comment. I think I'm overdue for a rewatch haha!
I personally believe in Nakajima supremacy
It never gets less funny that the same guy portrays both him and Shimano
WTF
[yes, really](https://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Naomi-Kusumi/)
i was gonna comment this hehe, that man is an angel

What lead my interest in the Yakuza franchise in the first place was that Beat Takeshi was in the game
Ah yes, Beat Takeshi. The only game where we actually >!beat Takeshi!<
The creator of the OG "RGG Game" for Famicom/NES
Rikiya for me https://preview.redd.it/jiin02ejc53d1.jpeg?width=380&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a8ea7d4cad03edf5f0614525caa66383eaf4728
Yeah, he's a piece of bread
Like a big ol' Winnie the Pooh
> Winnie the Pooh Social credit score has decreased.

He is definitely one of the characters of all time.
As a massive fan of battle royale I was so excited to see both beat takeshi and Tatsuya Fujiwara played major parts in the game
I always forget he’s Yuta. Rikiya I remember, but the Yuta voice sounds different to me.
Because he's a great actor.. You can hear it if you look for it but if no one told you diffrent you easily belive Rikiya and Yuta are voiced by diffrent people.. Love how both characters end up being a big part of kiryus life but in diffrent ways.

yakuza 3 haruka >>>>>
Such a pure man 🥹
Nakahara actually

Hafta disagree, bud. https://preview.redd.it/cvtj9qrzj83d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=044fc9ef70776c4c212672de9724893e5f55fdc4
That's not [Nakajima](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/yakuza/images/f/fb/Mr_Nakajima.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160111091523).
Beat Takeshi, can't wait to make my way to 6.
He would have been a great quarterback
One of the only redeeming qualities of this game... The other one being the only good version of Han Joon-Gi. God I love his theme
He’s great, but I personally like Nakahara more. That drawing saying, “Thank you for keeping me safe” gets me every time.
I ❤️ stabby grandpa!!!!

Fuck that guy
i'll see if you changed your mind by the end of the game
he said a cuss word once. that’s it. A horrible horrible man.
Yeah I'm ok with >!assassinations!< but I draw the line at swearing.
