She has a great design. I feel like cosplayers are going to enjoy her.
Random, but does anyone else have questions about how her and Rauru... You know, made more Hylians?
Minor memory spoiler >!Sonia specifically states to Zelda that she can tell they're connected by blood, so yeah, Rauru and Sonia canonically fuck and produce children.!<
I’m with you on this.
There has been people living in the lands of Hyrule before Skyward Sword as we learn from it‘s intro. Isn‘t it possible, that the Hyrule of King Rauru was BEFORE the lands have been lifted into the sky? Time passed and the royal bloodline became the leaders of Skyloft etcetc.
That would mean, that Demise was never an entity of it’s own, but always Ganondorf transformed into the Demon King. His hatred manifested to a point he forgot his name and took a different one.
No. They simply threw out the timeline for this game. An excellent choice in my opinion. The timeline is extremely limiting to developers and never really made sense in the first place.
The Legend of Zelda is better as repeated retellings of the same myth
>Or the flashbacks are before SS?
Doubt it Ganondorf exists after all and can't exist without Demise curse
My guess is it goes
SS - Link and Zelda go down to the surface and people of skyloft shortly follow and creat the first "tribes"
So they don't create a kingdom but rather begin civilisation on the ground
A few 100 years later
Rauru meets the head of the hylian tribes, Sonia (SS Zeldas descendant)
They marry and unite scattered hylian tribes into a single kingdom
then proceed to invite, Zora, Rito, and Gorons, with the Gerudo ignoring
Imprisoning war takes place
I believe that the Zonai machines are based of the Ancient robots in SS
And the ancient robots were built by the "Gods" who gave the Zonai the secret stones
Considering dragons control the ancient robots (and Zonai eat the stones to become dragons) there could be a link
Of course this is my guess, I literally finished the main story of totk today lol
In other games the pointy ears are stated to be a Hylian trait made to make it 'easier for the Hylians to hear their goddess'.
In OOT Gerudo had different ears than Hylians, and it seems things are blending.
I mean they get a Male every one hundred years, and it's been shown in both BOTW and TOTK that Gerudo women can marry and have children with Hylians.
Edit: I forgot to add that if the child is female they send her to Gerudo Town after a certain age.
If the Zonai were already considered gods, I don't think that Rauru and Sonia were the first Zonai and Hylian to have *relations,* so the pointy ear trait could have indeed been given to the Hylians from the Zonai generations before Sonia and Rauru.
fact. Although the game spared us from seeing their kids, which is maybe a good thing after seeing hudsons ginger haired bell end head looking child...
My theory is that Hylians and Zonai are evolutionary divergent species, but close enough together in the ancestral line that they’re genetically compatible. Similar to Rito and Zora (see WW).
The thing that confuses me is their aren't any Zonai influences in Hylians. Do all Zonai have recessive genes. Where are my half dragon Hylian hybrids?
Well you see the Hylians were more dominant meaning that the Zonai gene pool got diluted so much that probably every hylian has a gene. But isn’t dominant enough for any characteristics. This my theory though. It makes sense in real life tbh
At least as of Rauru's time, he and Mineru were the only two Zonai left, and Mineru doesn't seem to have had children. There's probably so little Zonai DNA left in the contemporary Hylian genome that it goes unnoticed.
So who the hell is the >!Zonai depicted by the Ancient Hero's Aspect? We know they had to have been alive after Rauru sealed Ganondorf and Mineru left her body, because the Calamity didn't exist until well after Ganondorf was sealed.!<
Ganondorf does mention that the Zonai race was down just to Rauru and Mineru at that point so I assume that the Zonai had bred with the Hylians so much that their blood became diluted and only Hylian babies were born.
I think they’ve been dead for so long that they’ve sort of been watered down we don’t know how long ago Zelda was sent back but it could be tens of thousands of years and we already know that he and his sister were the last two zonai during that time
It has to be at least 10,000 years because in the legend of the Calamity from 10,000 years ago there was a Princess of Hyrule, and at least for the continuity of BOTW/TOTK, Rauru and Sonia founded the kingdom so it would have to be after that. That’s plenty of time for a group down to only two remaining members to die out, especially since they’re siblings so any children they have wouldn’t be pure Zonai. The royal line would obviously carry some of their bloodline but only a tiny fraction, just like how most Eurasian people are part Neanderthal
I'm still convinced that Rauru and Sonias Hyrule is pre-skyward sword. Would be perfectly reasonable for no one to remember the name of a kingdom that only lasted a generation.
Well the Gerudo always seem to have Gerudo girls with Hylians. So maybe that’s just how it works? In universe one race always beats out the other?
I don’t think Nintendo thought about genetics too much lol
That's simply not true. Species that are hugely different can't, sure. But I'm sure you've heard of Ligers, Mules, Coydogs, Coywolves, Wolf Dogs, and a there are a few whale species that can breed as well.
Related species can, and often do, breed in our world.
Right, but in a world where fish people and humans can marry, bird people supposedly came from fish people and two human races always produce a tall ginger, you can't make that assumption.
>Random, but does anyone else have questions about how her and Rauru... You know, made more Hylians?
Well, the Zonai do have human features so I assume Rauru used his own "thick stick".
My theory is this:
- There is a race of Hylians that don't leave the sky after Skyward Sword
- Hyrule in all timelines falls. Disappears. Gone. Hundreds maybe thousands of years prior to BotW/TotK even before the past in TotK
- Those Skylians change over all that time to become the Zonai while they're up there. Still Hylians, but with some new features.
- Some of these Zonai, namely Rauru and his sister, come down to the surface and establish a new Hyrule
Thus, Rauru and Sonia aren't incompatible because Rauru is still technically a Hylian, just with even bigger ears and more hair.
It also would mean this is a different Ganondorf than the one from OoT, TP, and WW
I also think this is the most likely. Sonia should have the blood of the old royal family with Hylia's blood and thus was known as a priestess after the kingdom ceased to exist until it was founded again with Rauru as the King and she as the Queen.
My question is how is Zelda related to them cause we never see a child meaning they probably didn’t have one >!and they couldn’t have had one after Sonia died!<
They could have avoided confusion by just having a half zonai looking kid in the background of a couple of those scenes or having Rauru or Sonia mention her.
I'm guessing they didn't want to show what a half zonai kid would look like because they tend to shy away from race mixing which is uhhhh
but yeah they should've at least mentioned then having kids. just a throwaway line in memory 10 would've been nice/enogh I think, to give a lot more weight to Rauru's decision
Mixed race children is still frowned on in general in Japanese society. The obsession over pale skin is very creepy.
Honestly I'm AMAZED they made Sonia (and just Sonia from what I can tell) dark skinned and confirmed she was Zelda's stupidly great grandmother.
Really? Have you not seen the tons of dark skinned npcs? I'm not just talking about the gerudo either.
Also Japan is a homogeneous country, it's not an obsession with pale skin it's just that there aren't many dark skinned people living there.
Although Japan is super xenophobic, I can't deny that.
Do we already know who made these stone tablets? Because one of the tablets states that mineru, rauru and sonia are already gone. Or is that person not important at all?
Yeah, I don't know exactly what causes me to read that couple's body language as being horny af, but they clearly have more hybrid kiddos than Gadget and Zipper.
What I don't understand is that in SS Zelda's time & light powers were implied to be due to her being the goddess Hylia reincarnate, but TotK seems to retcon this?
SS Zelda, specifically, has her magic because she is Hylia reincarnated, but it's implied that that magic is hereditary.
So I think the most logical conclusion here is that SS Zelda has time magic because she is the goddess of time reincarnated, and that magic was passed onto her descendants, including Sonia.
Yes, the Hylian Royal Bloodline is stated to have been completely unbroken since they rose. Link however can be any poor schlub villager's kid.
Helps explain away the iffyness that more than likely there's been at least a couple Links in the Hylian family tree
Realistically by now every first born male child in Hyrule would be named link by this point.
Imagine if all of your national heroes had the same name, going back as far back as history can recall.
I don't remember if Skyward Sword actually ever shows Hylia or Zelda use light power from herself. The Goddess Sword is forged into the Master Sword with the sacred flames from the 3 golden goddesses and that's why it can seal Demise, and the stake that seals the Imprisoned also has the designs of the golden goddesses. Hylia makes use of the Triforce which is also from the golden goddesses, but I don't think we ever see light power from her.
Everything after Skyward Sword (chronologically I mean, not release date) seemed to treat Hylia's power, the Triforce, and those light powers as almost the same thing, even BotW seemed to equate that one big light blast with the symbol of the Triforce on Zelda's hand. But it looks like she was only the goddess of Time, and the light powers actually came from Rauru at the creation of the royal family.
The Light Force in Minish Cap did nothing to help in the confusion, but slipping in the Zonai before that fixes it too.
One thing to keep in mind is that Nintendo doesn't limit themselves to past games. SS Zelda's powers shouldn't be taken to imply anything about BotW/TotK Zelda.
My bigger question is not "how", but "when". I don't remember any mention of children in the memories, and >!*after* the memories neither of them are really in any condition to do the nasty.!<
I have no problem imagining the "how" (and I'm sure the fine artists of the internet won't have trouble imagining that either).
I feel like its a fair assumption to make that they had children, we just didn't see them.
I'm still siting here wondering how Dragon + Hylian= Hylian. I feel like that episode of Spongebob where the people wonder how sponge+starfish=clam.
I've seen people say goat, I've seen people say dragon. Given the thematic nature of the game and several late game reveals, I'm personally leaning towards dragon.
Also, Rauru, to me at least, has a little dragon snout.
My theory is that ToTK Zelda is her own great^(1000000000) Grandma.
(I mean, Sonia mentions that she feels like Zelda has her and Rauru´s power/blood... >!but there is no mention of any princess/prince before Sonia f\*cking dies)!<
Also keep in mind that that someone in Kakariko states that the name Zelda was never mentioned in any records whatsoever.
Yet King Rhoam gave that name to his daughter because of "family tradition".
Maybe we just witnessed a paradox where Zelda invented her own name and character in the past.
It's interesting that to me she appears inherently more human than the the other human characters in the game including Link and Zelda. Probably mostly due to the more realistic smaller eye size, and just great motion capture for the cutscenes.
For the rendered video cut scenes I'm certain they did, for the the actual game I guess too. I see no reason for a major studio to not use motion capture, it's like a short cut.
I like the new character design a lot. Sonia and Rauru have hair for days! I could imagine them bonding over it. Lineru have such a dignified design.
I love how Sonia have such a soft look. She look just so gentle. It make >!her death !< hit so hard!
I wish the sage took off their mask at least once, like giving them to their successor or something. They feel like filler character, they don't even have name
Yes.. and no. Allow me to explain.
it's an amazing design, absolutely beautiful, her voice actor was great and I loved her character.
And no... Because >!Nintendo just HAD to make such a loveable character just to kill her off didn't they!<
It's a disgrace. She's not blue, she has no spikes and she has two eyes. I've finished the game 300 times and i have yet to hear her mention chili dogs once
I remember when a lot of people were just calling her Basket after the art book leak. We had Rauru... and Basket. I kept jokingly calling her Basket for a while even after I learned her real name haha.
Zelda is Hylia's reincarnation so theoretically if she went far enough back in time she could meet Hylia, it's kinda like how the Hero's Shade was the lingering regret of a former Hero incarnation.
I think ur partially wrong, idk y I remember, but demise clearly said “those of you with the BLOOD of the goddess and the SPIRIT of the hero…” which means that later Zelda’s are just daughters, not half reincarnations of hylia.
Wouldn't everyone have the blood of the Goddess if that were the case? It is implied at the end of Skyward Sword that Link and Zelda get together and based on Tears of the Kingdom eventually their bloodline leads to Sonia since she was the first queen of Hyrule meaning that every single Hylian in existence should have the blood of the Goddess.
That is true, similar to how most every Englishman is vaguely related to the royal family, but that notion dosnt rly bother me, it only further confirms that demise’s curse ain’t ever going away cuz now it applies to every hylian just about. That, or maybe only direct descendants count towards the curse, the end products the same tho.
Where are you getting that every Hylian is a descendant of Zelda and Link? There were other people in Skyloft too. Surely only the royal family would carry Hylia's blood.
Absolutely wrong. The Zelda from Skyward Sword is Hylia (or a direct reincarnation) and every Zelda that follows only has the blood of the goddess, not directly Hylia herself.
I mean she's technically a Zelda, she's a descendant of the goddess with sealing powers. Sort of like Tetra, who is identified as a Princess Zelda but isn't technically, as she's her own person.
Oh definitely. It was just so funny how people saw a blond, green-eyed lady and assumed they must be the same character just in a different form. Or the other argument I had where someone swore up and down that the figure we saw in the trailer holding out her hand (what we now know is Zelda giving Link Recall) was "basket Lady" and not Zelda because "Zelda fell down a hole".
Oh it's Sonia. Sonia is in the Art Book which was leaked and the page had a concept for the basket she was holding and the top of the page said "Basket concept" in Japanese, so people were referring to her as Basket Lady. It's the same picture as seen in this post.
So there was a lot of discourse around "Basket Lady" and who she was from "Zelda but thousands of years old" to "Hylia's human form". The person I was arguing with believed the dresses that Zelda and Sonia wear had to be the exact same dress despite certain design differences and therefore the figure in the trailer holding out her hand could not be Zelda. Blah blah blah, it's all history now but it was kind of wild.
Thank you for explaining! Personally I don’t know much Zelda lore and never played the games before botw, so my guess was that Sonia was alternate timeline Zelda because they were dressed similar and looked related (half right?)
She has the hair and also get's stabbed in the back by the main Villain wielding a katana. It's just a joke man I've seen this comparison made since the design was first revealed. but i guess i could have made that more clear.
Love that you won't let this man have his opinion. So I'll pitch in with... two loose strands at the front, and matching length. If Sonia braided her hair she'd look hella like a dirty blonde Aerith. I think maybe you're thinking of some other Aerith with some tight curled afro, because hip length long flowing hair with two front fronds is literally a description you can use for both characters so uhhhh not "nothing like"
>is literally a description you can use for both characters so uhhhh not "nothing like"
Is literally a description you can use for a billion different characters, this is the dumbest take i've ever read that two characters are kinda the same because they *could* have the same hairstyle if they wanted.
Aerith’s hair is braided. The two characters hairs are nothing alike. It’s not that he’s not letting him have an opinion. It’s that their opinion is objectively wrong.
Aerith and Sonia’s hairstyles are about a similar as capless Mario and old school link’s.
Yes. She looks graceful and so pretty! I just wanted to see her more in the game :( I thought when I saw the art book leaks that she would be interacting with Link but my hopes were quickly killed when I realised they lived thousands of years ago

i think generally the new characters looks great. This character included.
i find the zonai's 3rd eye to look a bit silly, i kinda wanna hit it with an arrow and hear the plink sound
Also their little baby legs
Never skip leg day
The Zora and Rito also have little legs
She has a great design. I feel like cosplayers are going to enjoy her. Random, but does anyone else have questions about how her and Rauru... You know, made more Hylians?
You see, when a goat god and a hylian love eachother* so much...
Themselves? That’s … not going to result in children.
Minor memory spoiler >!Sonia specifically states to Zelda that she can tell they're connected by blood, so yeah, Rauru and Sonia canonically fuck and produce children.!<
What I don't get is I thought the pointy ears the Hylians have come from the Zonai. Sonia already has pointy ears.
In skyward sword they already had pointy ears
True. So the earliest Hylians most likely already had pointy ears..
Or the flashbacks are before SS? No idea how that would work but the timeline in the new games are all kinds of messed up
I’m with you on this. There has been people living in the lands of Hyrule before Skyward Sword as we learn from it‘s intro. My current headcanon is that Raurus hyrule takes place so far in the future of the timeline that hyrule has fallen to ruin before being refounded
>Or the flashbacks are before SS? Doubt it Ganondorf exists after all and can't exist without Demise curse My guess is it goes SS - Link and Zelda go down to the surface and people of skyloft shortly follow and creat the first "tribes" So they don't create a kingdom but rather begin civilisation on the ground A few 100 years later Rauru meets the head of the hylian tribes, Sonia (SS Zeldas descendant) They marry and unite scattered hylian tribes into a single kingdom then proceed to invite, Zora, Rito, and Gorons, with the Gerudo ignoring Imprisoning war takes place I believe that the Zonai machines are based of the Ancient robots in SS And the ancient robots were built by the "Gods" who gave the Zonai the secret stones Considering dragons control the ancient robots (and Zonai eat the stones to become dragons) there could be a link Of course this is my guess, I literally finished the main story of totk today lol
I think it was either OoT or Twilight Princess that posit the reason Hylians have pointy ears is to hear the voice of the Gods.
WHAAAAAT, NO WAY!!!
In other games the pointy ears are stated to be a Hylian trait made to make it 'easier for the Hylians to hear their goddess'. In OOT Gerudo had different ears than Hylians, and it seems things are blending.

Maybe some of her ancestors were Zonai as well? Maybe that's why she's as tall as a zonai? Zonai <-> Sonia? Coincidence?
If anything Sonia's design suggests that Hylian ears have become smaller with time, maybe ending in more human ears in the future.
If the Zonai were already considered gods, I don't think that Rauru and Sonia were the first Zonai and Hylian to have *relations,* so the pointy ear trait could have indeed been given to the Hylians from the Zonai generations before Sonia and Rauru.
>!The Gerudo with Ganondorf also had long ears!<
But no kids are ever mentioned tho
couldn't she just be related to Sonia? Like she's descended from Sonia's sister's line?
fact. Although the game spared us from seeing their kids, which is maybe a good thing after seeing hudsons ginger haired bell end head looking child...
Having sex with yourself doesn’t result in children. The person I replied to changed his post from ‘themselves’ to ‘each other’.
OH gotcha 👍
What non-native english does to someone
My theory is that Hylians and Zonai are evolutionary divergent species, but close enough together in the ancestral line that they’re genetically compatible. Similar to Rito and Zora (see WW).

Well you see the Hylians were more dominant meaning that the Zonai gene pool got diluted so much that probably every hylian has a gene. But isn’t dominant enough for any characteristics. This my theory though. It makes sense in real life tbh
Much like Neanderthal or denisovan dna in us. It’s in there, and probably responsible for some stuff but not readily apparent on the surface.
exactly, if they had kids then it makes sense hylian dna dominates the gene pool being that there were no other zonai..
At least as of Rauru's time, he and Mineru were the only two Zonai left, and Mineru doesn't seem to have had children. There's probably so little Zonai DNA left in the contemporary Hylian genome that it goes unnoticed.

I feel we see the recessive genes come out in Hylians with the Sheika, all of them having white hair like the Zonai.
You just put an image of some bizarre fish-bird in my head and I hate it. Thanks
Well the Gerudo always seem to have Gerudo girls with Hylians. So maybe that’s just how it works? In universe one race always beats out the other? I don’t think Nintendo thought about genetics too much lol
Maybe the Mother’s genes are the dominant genes so the kid will end up being the same race as the mother.
The thing is that according to real biology, two beings of different species can't reproduce
That's simply not true. Species that are hugely different can't, sure. But I'm sure you've heard of Ligers, Mules, Coydogs, Coywolves, Wolf Dogs, and a there are a few whale species that can breed as well. Related species can, and often do, breed in our world.
I rephrase myself, completely different species, sure zonai are humanoid, but i don't think they are similar enough to hylians to reproduce with them
Right, but in a world where fish people and humans can marry, bird people supposedly came from fish people and two human races always produce a tall ginger, you can't make that assumption.
I forgot about that
That's fair. That whole universe is convoluted in so many ways. Forgetting things is normal.
>Random, but does anyone else have questions about how her and Rauru... You know, made more Hylians? Well, the Zonai do have human features so I assume Rauru used his own "thick stick".
You know he got that thick long stick-stick
My theory is this: - There is a race of Hylians that don't leave the sky after Skyward Sword - Hyrule in all timelines falls. Disappears. Gone. Just because we don’t see children in the few short snippets we have doesn’t mean there are no children.
They could have avoided confusion by just having a half zonai looking kid in the background of a couple of those scenes or having Rauru or Sonia mention her.
>!The Ancient Hero's Aspect!< looks kind of half-Zonai-ish, now that you mention it.
That's true - Zonai face and feet with Hylian proportions.
Seems like a Gerudo male and Zonai tbh
I'm guessing they didn't want to show what a half zonai kid would look like because they tend to shy away from race mixing which is uhhhh but yeah they should've at least mentioned then having kids. just a throwaway line in memory 10 would've been nice/enogh I think, to give a lot more weight to Rauru's decision

I wanna see goron-halflings, pls nintendo
I'm convinced Gorons do something like Asexual budding. So no halflings, they don't have the parts.
>!There is a sidequest in TotK that confirms this, yes. Gorons are born from the land.!<
One of the sages from a link between worlds clearly looks like a goron/hylian hybrid.
hudson kid is mixed
All the other gerudo are mixed too.
Really? Have you not seen the tons of dark skinned npcs? I'm not just talking about the gerudo either. Also Japan is a homogeneous country, it's not an obsession with pale skin it's just that there aren't many dark skinned people living there. Although Japan is super xenophobic, I can't deny that.
I was also rather surprised to see that Sonia is noticeably darker skinned than the other characters.
Seems like the other Hylians from the time in the memories also have tan skin
And all those stone tablet texts telling how was their day-to-day lives but none mention any heirs, a pretty important thing to a kingdom.
Do we already know who made these stone tablets? Because one of the tablets states that mineru, rauru and sonia are already gone. Or is that person not important at all?
It was their chamberlain.
Yeah, I assumed they must have had a young child that was being taken care of by a nursemaid off-screen while they did king and queen shit.
Yeah, I don't know exactly what causes me to read that couple's body language as being horny af, but they clearly have more hybrid kiddos than Gadget and Zipper.
I feel like the game would still have mentioned children tho.
I just assumed Sonia had an unnamed sibling that took over after and from that point it was pure hylian monarchy
[удалено]
It's not implied, it's outright stated by Sonia that the blood of both run through Zelda's veins.
What I don't understand is that in SS Zelda's time & light powers were implied to be due to her being the goddess Hylia reincarnate, but TotK seems to retcon this?

Strider/Lalonde moment
My bigger question is not "how", but "when". I don't remember any mention of children in the memories, and >!*after* the memories neither of them are really in any condition to do the nasty.!< I have no problem imagining the "how" (and I'm sure the fine artists of the internet won't have trouble imagining that either).
I feel like its a fair assumption to make that they had children, we just didn't see them. I'm still siting here wondering how Dragon + Hylian= Hylian. I feel like that episode of Spongebob where the people wonder how sponge+starfish=clam.
Are the Zonai dragons? They seemed more goat-like. In any case, fantasy race hybrids tend to ignore IRL biology and evolution.
I've seen people say goat, I've seen people say dragon. Given the thematic nature of the game and several late game reveals, I'm personally leaning towards dragon. Also, Rauru, to me at least, has a little dragon snout.
I think this is one of those things that it is best not to think about too hard.
~~I assume passionately and with a great deal of enthusiasm~~
Looking at Sonia, I'd blame Ruaru if he wasn't chomping at the bit.
Would that mean that the royal family tree is quite literally a wreath?
At least it would be realistic.
I'm pretty sure there's plenty of placed on the internet that have all the answers you need in graphic detail.
maybe the zonai gene is...recessive?
He must be GOATed in the bedroom 👀
No, the answer is they fucked
It's interesting that to me she appears inherently more human than the the other human characters in the game including Link and Zelda. Probably mostly due to the more realistic smaller eye size, and just great motion capture for the cutscenes.
Do they use motion capture for this game? I just thought it was animated the old fashion way
For the rendered video cut scenes I'm certain they did, for the the actual game I guess too.
So gentle but so badass like in the battle against the molduga.
I hate how totk and botw >!kill !< every character I want to know better
I feel like the sages might have something to do with the DLC that will inevitably follow. Otherwise, why hide their faces?
Yeah but I feel bad for their cleaning people. There is going to be hair *everywhere*.
They have actual character models as well
She's so pretty and kind it's amazing. Probably my fave of the new charas.
Agreed 100%. She and Rauru look positively regal. I foresee cosplays.
She's way too pretty for me to handle lol.
Yes.. and no. Allow me to explain. it's an amazing design, absolutely beautiful, her voice actor was great and I loved her character. And no... Because >!Nintendo just HAD to make such a loveable character just to kill her off didn't they!<
Just................................................. Why ?
I fell in love with her from the second I saw her. And I don’t even like girls
It's a disgrace. She's not blue, she has no spikes and she has two eyes. I've finished the game 300 times and i have yet to hear her mention chili dogs once
Wait, how many eyes do you think Sonic has...?
Yes but also, remember when people theorized she was gonna be Hylia?
Everyone thought she was zelda lmfao.
I remember theories that she was Hylia.

Only the Zelda from SS is Hylia‘s reincarnation, the rest are just descendants and carry her blood and powers, nothing more.
According to Demise's curse every Zelda has Hylia's soul and every Link has the Chosen Hero's Soul.
Demise said that every incarnation of Zelda will have hylia's soul. Zelda is still hylia.
The power? Yes. But not Hylia herself, only SS Zelda was Hylia herself.
Not the power. Her soul.
I mean she's technically a Zelda, she's a descendant of the goddess with sealing powers. Sort of like Tetra, who is identified as a Princess Zelda but isn't technically, as she's her own person.
Well she kinda is. She's just an early ancestor of Zelda and decendant of the goddess hylia.
~~mommy~~
She looks GREAT
She gives me Persephone vibes from Hades. Especially this concept art.
Sonia and Rauru are my favorite characters in this game. I could play a whole game of them, especially Rauru
Queen Sonia? Who's that? That's Zelda, remember?
Lmao, the number of people who were arguing with me so certain that that must be Zelda just aged like 10,000 years
I mean Zelda did age.. just not the way they imagined
I missed the whole basket lady discourse. Who is basket lady they were referring to?
Yes, you were mostly right, she is related to Zelda by blood but not from an alternate timeline. She's Zelda's ancestor from long long ago.
Some of them honestly sounded like they were ready to bet their lives on it. It was crazy
She and Rauru have my favorite designs in the series
I'm always sad when they introduce a new character and they're rad AF and it's only for this one game.
Yeah she’s hot
Can't beat Purah though
Excited to see all the cosplays from the game
Yes! Wish we had more of her
When I first saw Sonia and Rauru, I knew there were gonna be some bomb ass cosplays that would come from them. Can’t wait.
She looks fantastic I'm just still like "why sonia?"
The way the tassels(?) At the bottom form the Triforce is absolute peak character design 👌🏾
> spoilers her design > puts her name and role in the title I think shes a great character too
White toes >
I'm not sure why, but her design really doesn't do it for me. It's not bad or anything, it's just... fine?
I like Pura better 😏
~~mommy~~ why, yes I like it a lot.
Especially she shares same VA with Rhea from Fire Emblem, can’t unheard Rhea every time I see her in cut scenes
Is she a Hylian or a female Zonai? Or a mix of Zonai and hylian?
I believe in game they state she’s *hyrulean*. Can’t remember if there’s a difference between hyrulean and hylian or not though.
Same thing, it's just hyrulean is something from Hyrule and hylian is specifically what the race of people from Hyrule is called
I've been wanting to get a sleeve of Links right arm but I really like her design on her left arm as well
The only new design I didn't like was Mineru because it felt strangely fetishy to me, but overall the new characters were pretty good
She's just Aerith from FF7 with dark skin and tattoos.
She looks nothing like Aerith.
She has the hair and also get's stabbed in the back by the main Villain wielding a katana. It's just a joke man I've seen this comparison made since the design was first revealed. but i guess i could have made that more clear.
Her hair looks nothing like Aerith's.
Love that you won't let this man have his opinion. So I'll pitch in with... two loose strands at the front, and matching length. If Sonia braided her hair she'd look hella like a dirty blonde Aerith. I think maybe you're thinking of some other Aerith with some tight curled afro, because hip length long flowing hair with two front fronds is literally a description you can use for both characters so uhhhh not "nothing like"
>is literally a description you can use for both characters so uhhhh not "nothing like" Is literally a description you can use for a billion different characters, this is the dumbest take i've ever read that two characters are kinda the same because they *could* have the same hairstyle if they wanted.

She's a woman, playing a woman, pretending to be another woman!
I mean.... yeah. It is.
I'm just saying all aerith has to do is undo her braid and....
Aerith’s hair is braided. The two characters hairs are nothing alike. It’s not that he’s not letting him have an opinion. It’s that their opinion is objectively wrong. Aerith and Sonia’s hairstyles are about a similar as capless Mario and old school link’s.
Ah yes, the most natural of hairstyles. Braided. That weird growth we call a "scrunchie" is made of the same substance as fingernails.
I felt her ears are a tad too big, but yeah
I feel like it's to show how Hylians were different in her time. I honestly think the longer ears are the neatest part about her
Smash
I really like her 🪦outfit that she gets
I’d hit.
Sus……I don’t wanna see your search history
Would
Yeah I cant wait for more "art" of her.
It’s good, yeah, but more people need shoes in this game
Anyone else notice that she looks like Mia from RE7
No
Yes. She looks graceful and so pretty! I just wanted to see her more in the game :( I thought when I saw the art book leaks that she would be interacting with Link but my hopes were quickly killed when I realised they lived thousands of years ago
Looks like a character from Hades
