Unfortunately everybody selling a hardtop is in the same boat as you. Soft tops are really the way to go and no one I know goes back to the hard top after getting one. If you are desperate to get rid of one I really would recommend you make just a quick Facebook and sell it on one of the groups. Facebook really is the best option for something like this and even then they really aren't worth as much as you would think for an old car like these. The problem is they're fiberglass hardtops that dont really rust and anyone who can find the means eventually buys a soft top and never touches the hardtop again. With that said anyone selling a soft top for cheap?
If anyone is Northern Arkansas/Southern Missouri is looking to get rid of one or a couple, let me know. Looking to make something out of one, but to nervous to try it on my hard top
Don't do this, if you offer it online for free someone will take it. If you can find the space to store it for years itll be worth something way down the road probably. Good hardtops are extremely difficult to remanufacture and it would be a shame if one even in barely ok shape went to the dump
I was able to give mine to a friend who needed a new one.
I made a roll cage that cleared the soft top just fine... but failed to consider the hard top. After that I decided to also delete the rear window.
That's 20 dollars more than I need for it lol I just feel bad trashing it. Like the other guy said someday somebody might need it and I have seen plenty in worse shape than this one.
No I don't mean trash it. I mean maybe at a junkyard where people go to look for parts from old/junked vehicles, somebody might go there looking for a 1st gen 4runner to buy the hardtop. The junkyard will most likely take that off your hands and hold it there in hopes that somebody will buy it from them.
Idk just an idea if you're having trouble selling/getting rid of it anywhere else.
Possibly offer up?

Post on yotatech classifieds or the various Toyota based pages on Facebook
How much you want for it?
I have had one in my backyard for years. Couldn't give it away. Posted in all the places, no bites. I say that to tell you: best of luck.
I'm about ready to saw mine into pieces and take it to the dump.

What about a junkyard? Maybe they'd give you $20 for it
