They're very well liked, and an awesome bang for your buck at their price point. I just can't get over the cringey fret markers personally.
For that price point though personally I'd go with the omen elite literally just because of the fret inlays, but it has a cooler finish, slightly better schecter branded pups, 5 way switch, and mahogany body. They're like $50 more than the standard omens, and those upgrades are 100% worth it imo. Kinda surprised they aren't $100-150 more honestly.
With either model though expect to want new tuners and pickups as upgrades in the future, but that's going to be basically any guitar that sells new for <$600. Even still, Schecter is absolutely the best bang for your buck brand of guitar.
The shop told me the issues I was complaining about were pretty normal for Schecter. Not sure how much I trust them as they wanted to fix my complaints but I’m not about fixing a brand new guitar lol.
Thats bullshit. They’re a very well established and quality brand. No one could convince me they have any worse qc than a ton of other brands out there.
I have one that I bought as a husk, and ‘built’ up with new hardware. It has a bolt on neck, no binding, a bit longer neck scale. Mine sounds and plays great. I generally prefer a bit more bling, but looks are just looks.
I’d buy used- loads of sevens for sale from those who like the idea of a 7 more than the reality.
My gripe is I’d prefer a stop piece rather than through the body. It is a cosmetic issue.
Everyone absolutely raves about schecter. I'm not saying they aren't good, but I DID get silver mountain 7 multi scale that was not set up properly. The top 4 strings were buzzing and the B string was unplayable. Had to get it tuned shortly after I got it.
I was going to do that anyhow as I was changing string gauges and detuning, but I did have out of the box issues.
I have an Omen Extreme 7 and have nothing but great things to say about it - you can’t really go wrong with Schecters from my experience

Plus one for the omen elite, absolutely love mine. I did change the tuners as the factory ones aren't amazing, just okay, but the rest of it is solid.
I have the elite 6 and it's absolutely fantastic. And the inlays are so clean and nice looking.
Just had to return a Schecter elite because of finish issues and a very high fret high up on the neck.
Sucks to hear. There’s always gonna be examples of that on large production guitars though. Is what it is.

I mean, I’ve bought one and it kinda sucked. So they ain’t perfect. It’s all hearsay and personal anecdotes right.

I have the omen elite 6 and it's the best guitar I own and it was so cheap compared to similar quality guitars. I bet the 7 will be just as good.
It really is
I have the Omen Elite 8 MS and I love it
Jealous!

I mean, it's alright. It's definitely a guitar of all time.
Yes, it is amazing. Have it set up properly, but it's an amazing 7 string
